I was torn between choosing "Rich Matcha Soft Serve" or "Genmaicha Ice Cream". Ultimately, the allure of soft serve ice cream was irresistible. Personally, I believe that if ice cream and soft serve were both available at a store, many people would choose the latter. This is because the opportunity to enjoy soft serve is significantly limited compared to ice cream. Ice cream, thanks to corporate efforts, is widely available in convenience stores and supermarkets, making it easily accessible. However, the soft texture of soft serve makes it practically impossible to be sold in stores. Soft serve's shape is often used as an iconic symbol of ice cream made with milk. While the shape of soft serve is often imitated in ice cream products, the texture remains the same as regular ice cream due to distribution constraints. Texture is an important element in food, and the soft and creamy texture of soft serve is a unique experience due to its limited availability. This is why soft serve is often chosen over regular ice cream. However, the deciding factor for choosing ice cream over soft serve is the flavor. In my opinion, to compete with the special appeal of soft serve, the flavor of ice cream must be something unique that can only be found in that particular place. Matcha flavor is popular both domestically and internationally, but Genmaicha flavor was unfamiliar to me. While I would love to try the classic matcha soft serve from a specialty shop, curiosity got the best of me this time. After a struggle, I chose the Genmaicha ice cream, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Since there were no other customers, I decided to enjoy it in-store. I had the option of choosing a cone or a cup, and I opted for a cone. Before the ice cream arrived, I was served a calming green tea. When the Genmaicha ice cream (300 yen) was served, I was greeted by a fragrant roasted rice tea aroma with a perfect level of sweetness. I was enveloped in joy for choosing this ice cream. The combination of the fragrant Genmaicha tea and milk exceeded my expectations and was incredibly delicious. The portion size was generous, equivalent to about two regular cup ice creams, providing a satisfying experience. If you're intrigued, I highly recommend trying it. If I hadn't already decided between soft serve and ice cream, I would have been lost in the maze. In addition to the mentioned soft serve and other ice cream flavors, the mochi, Catalan cream, parfaits, and dessert plates are also very enticing. The restaurant is clean and the aroma of tea wafting to the parking lot is pleasant. I definitely want to visit again.
