I visited Kawachiya in late January. After the New Year's holiday, I went shopping in Matsuiyamate to prepare for a big event coming after the first three days of the year. Akisan wanted to have lunch at Kura, the brunch place in Matsuiyamate, but unfortunately, it was closed on Wednesdays. Disappointed, I suggested this restaurant, saying, "It's a bit far, but there's a place I want to try." Even though I often passed by this place and was curious, Akisan only goes to the same yakiniku restaurant. She lacks a spirit of challenge or adventure, similar to my parents. We arrived just after 1 p.m. Oh, the parking lot is almost full! Managed to squeeze into the last spot. The restaurant has a strong Showa era vibe. We ordered the premium yakiniku set for two at 3,270 yen (tax included), which is about 1,300 yen more expensive than Kura's loin yakiniku. Let's see how good it is. The set dishes arrived. Weekday lunch sets are really worth it. First, a platter of three: quiche, Hinata chicken charcoal-grilled, homemade kimchi. Akisan's Hinata chicken is from Kawachiya. The deliciousness of this platter is surprising. Then, a parade of side dishes: chicken nanban, japchae, chawanmushi, salad, namul. And finally, the awaited premium platter: top salted tongue, Koin loin, Hinata chicken, Koin kalbi. Since Hinata chicken is from Kawachiya, I gave Akisan a piece of Koin loin. Everything is delicious, but if I had to choose, it would be Hinata chicken and Koin loin. If I had to choose. Lately, I feel one or two pieces of loin are enough, so this amount is appreciated, but I want more of this Koin loin. Looking at the additional menu items, they are quite pricey, but I didn't add any. This came with rice and soup. At 3,270 yen (tax included), it's indeed a bit pricey for lunch, but in terms of satisfaction, I thought it was totally fine. I'd like to stop by for dinner. I want to order the finest harami and Hinata chicken. I'll order two portions of Koin loin for Akisan and share one piece. It would be nice to have namul too. It was really delicious. I want to come back for lunch again to confirm. By the way, something inappropriate happened again! The results are not out yet, but are you a pro? Don't you lack self-awareness a bit...

First visit! The exterior and interior are quite beautiful and stylish! There are quite a few seats. There was a notice saying that they prioritize reservations today because they have fewer staff, but they seated us immediately! I ordered the harami set lunch! The portion size and quality were great and it was delicious! The manager and staff were very friendly, and I had a pleasant lunch! It's a restaurant I would like to visit again!

It was a refreshing cold drink on a hot day. The place has a spacious and relaxing atmosphere with a renovated old house feel, so it's popular among locals. I was happy to be served rooibos tea! I ordered the lunch harami set! The meat and rice here were so delicious that I ended up ordering an extra bowl of rice! I will definitely visit again!

Visited in January 2023. My second son came back temporarily from Australia, so we had dinner together with my grandmother and made a reservation at this restaurant. The exterior is a lovely building that looks like an old folk house. The interior is divided into rooms, and luckily on this day, we were able to use one room exclusively. It seems to be a restaurant specializing in Miyazaki beef. We ordered a set of beef (for 2-3 people) in the 9000 yen range, as well as individual items like hormone, beef tongue, and cold noodles. The beef was marbled beautifully, and even though I'm getting older, I was very satisfied with it (laughs). There were also three types of sauces, which added variety to the experience. As expected, beef tastes best when eaten with white rice. This restaurant seems like a good deal for lunch, so if I have the chance, I would like to visit for lunch next time. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I visited "Koin Kyoto Ikeda Store" for a weekday lunch near the Oshiguma area in Nara City and Ikeda, Seika-cho, Kyoto Prefecture. The location is at the intersection of Prefectural Route 52 and the old National Route 163, which runs north-south through Oshiguma. It used to be along National Route 163, but due to a grade separation project, it moved one street south from the current intersection of National Route 163. I visited around 1:00 PM for a slightly late lunch, and the room I was guided to was about half full of customers. The interior design gives a sense of an old traditional house, which is quite calming. There were three types of flavored salts (garlic salt, red salt, spicy herb salt) on the table for seasoning. Now, let's check the lunch menu. There are quite a few options to choose from. This time, I opted for the Yakiniku Mori Lunch Set with Yakiniku Kalbi Set (tax included 1,840 yen) and a half portion of cold noodles (tax included 330 yen). First, the set included salad, two types of Namul of the day, and Kimchi (one of the three small side dishes). In addition, two more small side dishes (Miyazaki Jitokko charcoal-grilled chicken and another one), and a separate small dish with tofu (which seems to vary depending on the day) were served. I might have missed it, but I was surprised to find three small side dishes and tofu included, which were not listed on the menu. Each item was served separately, offering a wide variety of flavors to enjoy, and they were all delicious. Then, the main meat (3 slices of salted tongue, 5 slices of Kalbi, and 3 slices of Miyazaki sweet pork belly Kalbi) and vegetables (pumpkin, carrot, bell pepper), rice, and soup were served. The vegetables were not listed on the menu. We quickly started grilling the meat on the smokeless gas stove in the center of the table. The meat was quite delicious for the price, especially the Kalbi was very tasty. And then, the half portion of cold noodles was served. The noodles in this cold noodle dish were unique, slightly thick flat noodles, providing an enjoyable texture. The soup was a bit oily with a generous amount of sesame oil, but vinegar was also provided for flavor adjustment according to personal preference. After finishing the meal, today's dessert and the additional lunch drink (hot coffee) were served. The dessert of the day was pudding. I felt that the Yakiniku Mori Kalbi Set at Koin was of outstanding value, with delicious meats and a wide variety of tasty side dishes included, allowing for a satisfying and filling meal. This is quite a great value lunch set, isn't it? Thank you for the meal. I think a revisit is definitely in order.

This is a yakiniku restaurant that specializes in Miyazaki beef. You take off your shoes when you enter. I ordered the most expensive lunch course, which was in the range of around 3000 yen. Before the meat, a set of three dishes - tender simmered beef tongue, grilled chicken with charcoal, and kimchi - arrived. Additionally, there was chapchae, chicken nanban, salad with bodysara, and warm tofu with red salt. It was great to have a variety of dishes! Then the meat arrived - the marbled salted tongue was tender and delicious, especially when squeezed with lemon and sprinkled with truffle salt. The A5 sirloin melted in my mouth instantly - it might have been the most delicious. The marbled kalbi was also amazing, and the Miyazaki Hinata chicken had a rich flavor. I used to think that chicken was just a side dish for variety, but it stood up well against the other high-quality meats. The restaurant had plenty of seats, and we were seated quickly, but it might be better to make a reservation. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Lunch for 3000 yen may seem expensive, but the meat is amazing! It's really delicious, so please do go and try it. I heard that rice refills were unlimited when making a reservation, but when I arrived, I was told that due to rising prices, refills were not allowed. I wish they had honored what was promised at the time of reservation. However, it's a restaurant I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

Entering the 163rd Route by car, there is a yakiniku restaurant renovated from an old folk house. The parking lot is easy to find and convenient. The atmosphere may be a bit smoky, but it adds to the charm. However, the smell may be strong for women coming from lunch, so it might be a good idea to take precautions. The meat for lunch offers great value for money, and the service is excellent. Rice, soup, salad, and tofu are refillable. The photos show the Harami set meal for 2,130 yen, the premium yakiniku set for 3,270 yen, and the beef tongue cold noodles for 2,610 yen.

I visited for lunch on a weekday. I arrived around 12:30, and the parking lot was already full, showing how popular it is. I ordered the yakiniku kalbi set and a small portion of naengmyeon. The dishes were brought out one after another in no time! Apparently, with the weekday lunch, you get various side dishes and dishes included, so it was quite a large volume! Despite the happy concern that I might get full before grilling the meat, I managed to finish all the meat. I would like to visit again.

It was around 12 p.m. on a Sunday, so it was quite crowded, but they had enough seats for us to be seated quickly. It might be safer to make a reservation for lunchtime! There were many lunch menu options to choose from, but this time I opted for the lunch course where I could fully enjoy Miyazaki flavors. The variety of dishes, starting from the generous salad, was impressive, and I was particularly impressed by the perfect marbling of the meat. You could tell how delicious it was just by looking at it. Not only the beef and pork, but I was also surprised by the sweetness and juiciness of the chicken fat! If you want to eat meat around this area, I definitely recommend this restaurant!

I used the lunch service. Since it was Sunday, the restaurant was bustling. Even though it took over 30 minutes after being seated for our food to arrive, the young staff members were working hard and providing attentive service. The dishes that were eventually served were good value for money. I would definitely come back again. As we were leaving, they apologized and said, "Please come again," with a smile. My husband and I said, "We would love to have staff like that at our place," before leaving.

This is the Kyoto Kandani branch of the Miyazaki beef yakiniku restaurant "Koian". In addition to this branch, they also have shops in Nara and Yokohama. I visited for the first time on a weekday at lunchtime, right after the opening. There weren't many customers right after the opening. The restaurant is located near the Kandani Nishi intersection, with a clear exterior in the style of an old folk house. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant. The interior is Japanese-style, with each seat set up like a private room with partitions. It has a very calm atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal. The customer service was polite. One disappointing point was that on this day, customers kept coming in one after another, but there were not enough staff to serve them, so the food took a very long time to be served. It's understandable that it's a difficult time during the pandemic, but the wait was a bit too long. The menu includes a variety of items such as individual dishes, set menus, and lunch menus. The lunch menu is priced between 1000 and 3000 yen. On this day, I ordered the most expensive premium yakiniku set from the lunch menu for 2980 yen (top sirloin, Koian loin, Koian kalbi, Miyazaki Hinata chicken, salad, two types of namul, kimchi, rice, soup), and added a half portion of hormone for 390 yen. First, salad, kimchi, and two types of namul are served. The namul with spinach and daikon had a light seasoning. The salad had a mild dressing that complemented the potato salad well. Among the main yakiniku dishes, the Koian loin was outstanding. It was thickly sliced with a wonderful marbling, and melted in the mouth. The Koian kalbi also had amazing marbling, but it had a more meaty texture and enjoyable chewiness. The tongue was moderately thick, yet tender and delicious. The Miyazaki Hinata chicken had a simple texture, good chewiness, and was easy to eat with a light flavor. The hormone had a lot of fat, which was truly wonderful. It's a great dish for those who enjoy eating fat. It was very juicy, and I had it with salt, but there seem to be various ways to enjoy it. It was my first visit to Koian, and I think it was great to be able to enjoy high-quality Miyazaki beef at a reasonable price during lunchtime. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

A high-end yakiniku restaurant with two locations in Nara, one in Kyoto, and one in Kanagawa. The Kyoto Karasuya branch was renamed "Shokokuan" in June 2017 and underwent a renewal. The concept focuses on evolving the high-end yakiniku experience of Kokuan, pursuing excellence in cuisine, hospitality, and ambiance. The menu mainly features the highest grade A5 rank Miyazaki beef. While prices are on the higher side, the lunch menu is reasonably priced. I chose the popular Shokukatsu Karubi Set, which includes skillfully cut pork belly, salted tongue, Miyazaki pork belly karubi, salad, two types of namul, small kimchi, rice, soup, and fruit. There are three types of sauces: spicy Kokuan sauce recommended for marbled meat, soy sauce-based sauce recommended for lean meat, and miso sauce recommended for offal. The quality of the meat is evident as soon as you taste it, especially the Miyazaki beef. The Shokukarubi may not be thick but is long and satisfying. The thinly sliced salted tongue is delicious. I wanted more! So, I added the premium choice upper harami, which had beautiful marbling, was flavorful, tender, and delicious. It was a highly satisfying lunch at this high-end yakiniku restaurant. I hope to visit for dinner sometime. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Koi-An for lunch with the intention of having Miyazaki beef yakiniku. The restaurant was crowded with many families on holiday. I chose the yakiniku lunch set, and also ordered additional kalbi and Tokusen cut kalbi. The meat in the yakiniku set was tender and flavorful, spreading a juicy sensation in my mouth. The Tokusen cut kalbi had a grid pattern cut on the surface of the meat. Both were tender, juicy, and delicious. Thank you for the meal.
