Hirao area in Kiyota Ward. Located inside the Seiyu Kiyota store. Open from 10 am, serving a hearty morning ramen. It's been over 20 years since I last visited Ezokko. The staff, especially the mama-san, had a nice atmosphere and left a good impression. It's still morning but this is already my fourth meal today. The rice from the soup curry earlier is still in my stomach, so I ordered the Ankake Yakisoba small size (660 yen). The noodles are Sapporo-style and slightly curly. The yakisoba is unevenly cooked for some reason. The sauce has a lot of seasoning, which I'm not a fan of, but it matches the image. The shrimp, squid, and pork are included as toppings, which are not bad. Overall, it's a place where you can enjoy morning ramen, which is quite rare. Thank you for the meal!

Maybe, Hokkaido = Ezo, and it means a child of Ezo. I think that's what it means. I was running an errand for my company. As you may have noticed, small business owners are just like "errand boys". From cleaning to shopping, we do it all, and our reward is a receipt. After finishing the errand, I decided to have lunch at the Westy Food Court, feeling like having ramen today. I looked into the showcase and was drawn to the "Ankake Yakisoba". But when I went to order, the words that came out were "Vegetable Ramen"... Why did I say that? So, I ordered the "Vegetable Ramen (830 yen)" and waited for it with the pager in hand. As always, I looked around the place and noticed that there were only elderly people around. The pager suddenly went off, and I went to pick up the Vegetable Ramen. Now, let's dig in to the Vegetable Ramen. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy. The soup is flavorful but not too strong. The noodles are yellow and curly, with a good texture and firmness. The chashu has a good balance of texture and flavor. I enjoyed the meal and returned the dishes before heading back to work. Thank you for the meal.

When it gets hot, my symptoms worsen, as I have a designated rare disease by the government. There is no cure for my rare disease yet, but I temporarily improve my symptoms by receiving "blood products" continuously for 5 days. Last year, I was hospitalized 5 times for rare disease treatment. I was hospitalized for the second time this year on April 4th, but I was discharged 59 days ago. However, due to worsening health, I have made a reservation for my third hospitalization this year, and I will be admitted as soon as a bed becomes available. Your supportive comments are always a source of encouragement for me during my hospital stays. I am truly grateful. Moving forward, I will mainly focus on reviewing past unreviewed content. I will limit new visits based on my health condition. "Ramen Ezokko" is a local Sapporo ramen chain that was established in 1967. This year marks the 55th anniversary of this long-established ramen chain. The main store is located at "Ramen Ezokko Paseo Store" inside JR Sapporo Station. At one point, there were quite a few branches in the city. Currently, apart from the main store, there are only three locations: "Seiyu Kiyota Store" and "Seiyu Nishinopporo Store." I decided to visit "Ramen Ezokko Kiyota Store" for lunch with my usual companion after a long time. This store is located in the food court of "Seiyu Kiyota Store" along National Route 36 in Kiyota area of Sapporo. It was a visit before 2 pm on a weekday. There were hardly any people at the table seats in the food court. It was a good decision to visit at that time. There were no previous customers, and there were only two customers behind me. Since it was hot, I avoided ordering ramen and instead ordered the "Ankake Yakisoba Chaahan Half & Half Set with Iced Tea for 850 yen." The staff brought it to the table after a 10-minute wait. The iced tea and a small bowl for leftovers were also served. The staff's kind consideration was evident. The "Ankake Yakisoba Chaahan Half & Half Set with Iced Tea" was quite a hearty set. The "Ankake Yakisoba" even in half portion had a good variety of ingredients. The noodle had a nice burnt flavor. The "Chaahan" was also freshly made and warm. For 850 yen, it was a good set considering the portion size. Upon closer inspection, the two customers behind me also ordered the same menu. Next time, I might try the "Miso Ramen" after a long time. It was a delicious meal.

When I posted a review of the gyoza set meal when there were only a few reviews, it disappeared_(:3」∠)_ It was many years ago, so there are no pictures, but oh well, I'll eat it again. Gyoza is my favorite, so I'll eat it, but I really hope it doesn't disappear. So here is the "Gyoza Set Meal" (780 yen). There were male staff during lunch time, but after 3:30 pm, there was only one lady. Since I wasn't given a number tag, I was wondering what to do, but she brought it to my table, which was kind of her. As a bonus, I got one gyoza as a service, which made me happy. The skin is thin and soft, and the gyoza has a beautiful brown color. The filling is a good mix of meat and vegetables, with a nice garlic flavor, very tasty! It has a good seasoning, so it's delicious on its own. The vinegar soy sauce that came with it has a strong flavor, and it goes well with rice as a side dish. The soup has a gentle salt flavor. There are many people eating ramen, but I prefer gyoza! Next time, I'll take out the gyoza from here and eat it with beer at home! Thank you, "Ezokko"!

I had a vague craving for five-ingredient ankake yakisoba, so I decided to stop by "Ezokko" inside the Seiyu Kiyota store while I was out shopping. The prices seemed a bit high for a food court. 860 yen for this quality is expensive! The sauce was too thick and lumpy, and the noodles were not fried enough. You have to go get the barley tea every time, they should provide a pitcher. It was a bit disappointing...

2020, I went shopping at Seiyu for the first time in a while. The store has changed a lot, so I haven't been shopping here much. There is a ramen shop in the Seiyu food court. It opens at 10 o'clock. Despite being in the food court, they serve delicious soy sauce ramen that I like. You can enjoy it without worrying too much about other people watching. The aftertaste lingers a bit. Thank you for the meal!

This time, I came to the Westy Clearing Store to buy a lottery ticket, so I decided to visit this restaurant for the first time. I ordered "Salt Ramen" at the register of this restaurant in the food court, paid for it, received a number tag, and also got a cold barley tea. I waited for my number to be called at an available table. It took about 15 minutes for my number to be called. I exchanged my number tag for the "Salt Ramen" and brought it to my table after adding a little pepper. First, I tried the soup, which was surprisingly oily and had a strong clear soup flavor with a high salt content. Next, the noodles were medium-thick yellow curly noodles, typical of Sapporo noodles, which went well with the dish. Lastly, the toppings included stir-fried bean sprouts and onions, a slice of char siu, menma, and chopped green onions. This was my first time trying their ramen, and I found it to be well-made and reasonably priced compared to other ramen in the food court.

Ramen restaurant located on the first floor of Seiyu along Route 36 in December 2017. Today, I had my car's regular inspection, which was estimated to take about an hour, so I decided to kill time by doing some shopping at Seiyu nearby. After shopping, I had an early lunch here starting at 10 o'clock. I ordered the soy sauce ramen. It took less than 10 minutes from ordering to serving. When I tasted the soup, it was delicious! The soy sauce flavor was strong, and the soup was piping hot. The vegetables were also crispy and stir-fried, making it an overall ramen that suited my taste. Thank you for the meal. ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

In the food court at Seiyu Kiyota store, I had soy sauce ramen and Gomoku noodles [Ezokko Kiyota store] Located at the intersection of Hiraoka Kiyota in Kiyota-ku, Sapporo, there is a food court at Seiyu Kiyota store. There are 3 shops in this food court: a taiyaki shop, a soba shop, and a Chinese restaurant called Ezokko. I stopped by Seiyu during work and had lunch at the food court. I underestimated the food court, but the quality turned out to be surprisingly high, so I visited twice. ⚫Soy sauce ramen 600 yen The first time, I casually stopped by the food court and ordered the soy sauce ramen without much expectation. I was given a number tag and waited at the table. After 5 minutes, my number was called and I went to pick it up. I thought it was just a food court, but when I tasted the soup, it was surprisingly delicious (laughs). The noodles were wonderfully yellow egg noodles that reminded me of Nishiyama Seimen? (Maybe it's Nishiyama Seimen?) This noodle is like the epitome of Sapporo ramen. The toppings included chashu, menma, moyashi, and negi. Overall, it was simple yet undeniably delicious, with a good amount of fat that formed a lard film and the soup remained hot until the end. ⚫Gomoku noodles 750 yen On my second visit, knowing that the noodles were delicious, I hesitated between ankake yakisoba and the vegetable-rich Gomoku noodles. Just like last time, I was called by the number tag to pick it up. Maybe I put too much pepper on it (laughs), but it was still delicious with plenty of vegetables. First, the soup was light and tasted like the classic Gomoku noodles I've had before. The noodles were the same as the soy sauce ramen above, firm, but I personally like this hardness. The vegetables in the Gomoku noodles included pork, shrimp, hakusai, menma, kikurage, green beans, negi, and carrots, a total of 8 types, which is great for those who lack vegetables. The Gomoku noodles were also simply delicious! Well, since it's a food court in Seiyu, there are a lot of elderly ladies on pension living there (laughs). It's quite crowded at lunchtime. I think the noodles are just delicious. On a certain weekday, during a break from work, I visited a ramen chain restaurant that I had bookmarked but haven't seen much around lately. The parking lot was empty, as it was located near a supermarket. The restaurant was located in a kind of food court area on the first floor of the supermarket, along with a taiyaki shop and a soba shop. During lunchtime on weekdays, the place was bustling with people eating, cleaning their tables with wet tissues, and just hanging out. The background music was faintly playing some Western music. I ordered the stir-fried noodles with sauce and half fried rice set for 750 yen, but was surprised to find out it actually cost 810 yen. After searching, I finally found one place that displayed prices without tax. The dish arrived, and I noticed that the stir-fried noodles were actually half the portion I expected. The plate looked cheap due to its size. The noodles were a medium-sized yellow curly type, lightly seasoned with a slightly sour taste. The ingredients included pork, shrimp, cabbage, squid, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, and snow peas. The lukewarm fried rice was clearly pre-made but was decent considering the location. The meal ended with a plastic cup of barley tea. Overall, it was a lunch that helped me understand the current situation of this company. Thank you for the meal.

Visited for the first time on September 21, 2015, this was my 117th visit of the year. I went to work as usual today. Working alone in an empty workplace can feel a bit silly. Since no one else was around, I decided to go on a little expedition for ramen for lunch. I went to Ezokko in the Seita store inside Seiyu. It's like a food court. I ordered miso ramen without hesitation and waited for a bit. The staff, especially the lady, was very friendly. The ramen was ready in about 5 minutes. The soup was slightly sweet but had a deep flavor, which I liked. The piping hot lard added a nice touch. The noodles were cooked quite firm, which matched well with the soup. The amount of toppings was a bit lacking, but the chashu was to my liking. Overall, the balance was good, and the value for money was high. It was a satisfying bowl of ramen.

Today's lunch was on a cold day with light rain, so I decided to eat something warm. I went to a nearby restaurant with various menu options. I was quite hungry, so I ordered a ramen and half-fried rice set. The owner recommended a smaller portion for me and I also got some dumplings. The ramen had good soup but too much lard, making it hard to eat because it was too hot. In the end, I had to put ice in it to cool it down. The fried rice and dumplings had a homely taste and were delicious. Next time, I'll have to remember to order without lard! Thank you and goodbye!

This shop is located inside the Seiyu store along Route 36. I often use Seiyu, but I have never visited this shop before. I ordered the Ankake Yakisoba in size S at the register, and paid in advance. It took about 10 minutes for it to be served. The portion looked larger than a size S. I added vinegar and enjoyed it. The ankake sauce was firm, which I liked a lot. The flavor was also to my liking and very delicious. The noodles had a nice crispy texture and were easy to eat with the firm sauce. The ingredients, including shrimp, wood ear mushrooms, and meat, provided a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal!

Today is the Emperor's birthday. My wife flew home early in the morning and will return the same day, leaving me to fend for myself for lunch. This time, however, I have the freedom to use the car. This opens up my lunch options to places within walking distance. I struggled to decide where to go, considering various places I wanted to try, but couldn't make up my mind. Eventually, I settled on going to the Nisshu Clearing Store, which has a food court with a ramen shop called Ezokko. Although my wife doesn't approve of this place, I decided to go there as it's somewhere she wouldn't go with me. I ordered the Wonton Men with extra noodles and soy sauce flavor. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

Lunch break during a tour in Sapporo city. Today's lunch is on a warm sunny day. Despite the weather, I am craving for a warm bowl of ramen. I decided to try the Chashu Ramen (780 yen) at a ramen shop in the food court of Sapporo Seiyu's Kiyota store. The Chashu in the ramen looked very impressive. I ordered the shoyu-flavored firm noodles. The staff asked if I wanted the Chashu to be seared, and I agreed without hesitation. Two large pieces of Chashu covered about half of the soup's surface. The Chashu was thick and had a nice sear, adding a fragrant aroma. The ramen style is "Sapporo ramen shoyu flavor." The stir-fried bean sprouts and green onions added a nice aroma, complementing the Chashu. The soup had an oily film on the surface, making it less likely to cool down quickly in Hokkaido's cold weather. The soup had a slight sweetness from the charred vegetables. The noodles were thick, yellow, and curly, with a chewy texture. This ramen shop in the food court is definitely worth a try. Thank you for the meal.

▼Location▼ Located in the food court inside the Seiyu Kiyota store along National Route 36. ▼About the Shop▼ A ramen shop inside the Seiyu food court, with a long-standing presence. The main shop is located in Paseo at Sapporo Station, and the branch at Seiyu operates as a separate entity. ▼Menu▼ The menu includes ramen variations like "Miso Ramen" and "Vegetable Ramen," as well as dishes like "Ankake Yakisoba" and set meals with noodles and fried rice. ▼What I Ate▼ ▽Ramen: Miso 600 yen▽ The ramen had stir-fried bean sprouts, chashu pork, and bamboo shoots, with a simple appearance. The slightly oily and piping hot soup had a pork bone base with a red miso flavor. There was a unique hint of tomato-like flavor. The noodles were medium thickness and slightly firm, cooked just right. The soup coated the noodles well, and the chashu pork had a good texture and flavor. ▼Impressions▼ "Ezokko" operates its main shop in Paseo directly connected to Sapporo Station, with other branches like this one in Kiyota operating as franchises. This Kiyota branch inside Seiyu's food court offers simple yet slightly unique ramen. Despite the unique flavor, it was delicious. I would like to try their ankake and fried rice dishes in the future.

"Ezokko" ... Are there any other stores still open? I've only been to this place when it comes to Ezokko. I think they used to have a chain of stores. Many customers from Tomakomai come here to grab a quick lunch and wait. But in the summer, they tend to go to Coachan Four a bit more. As I mentioned before, summer ramen is a challenge. There's no reason to sweat profusely just to eat it. You'll need to change all your underwear and take a bath to refresh yourself, or else you won't be able to work that day. So, let's talk about a snowy day in March. Here, the ankake yakisoba used to be only 580 yen, which is a steal! The crispy texture of the burnt soba and the rich soy sauce-flavored sauce are simply delicious! Recently, a cheap yakisoba specialty store called R opened near my office and it's popular, but in terms of taste and cost performance, this place is definitely better. It might be slightly more expensive, but for the price around here, this ankake yakisoba is unbeatable. I've also had their set menu with fried rice when I was in my 40s, and it's a great deal for those who want a hearty meal. Of course, their ramen has a strong soy sauce flavor, but it feels nostalgic and delicious to me. Rumor has it that the Westy stores in Sapporo are also planning to close down... So if you want to try it, now might be the time.

Since I started going there, I have been visiting "Ezokko" at Seiyu Kiyota store for over 25 years. Despite being located in the food court, their ramen has a rich flavor. I recommend their unique miso ramen, which has a red miso base and is topped with chashu, shinachiku, onions, and a few bean sprouts. The broth is sealed with an oil film to retain its heat. The noodles are firm with a chewy texture, and overall, the ramen is delicious. At 600 yen, it offers great value for money. My wife and daughter are also fans of Ezokko and occasionally express their desire to eat there. They also serve a tasty Sapporo-style salt ramen for the same price.
