This is a restaurant on the 5th floor of Hakata Daimaru Higashikan. Since I was a child, I have been taken here often, but this time I visited after a long time. They offer stylish plate lunches and course meals that you can't find at family restaurants like Royal Host. This time, I ordered the Continental Western Plate Lunch and Clubhouse Sandwich. The Continental Western Plate Lunch is a luxurious plate with small portions of beef fillet, crab cream croquette, shrimp fry, and Cosmo doria. The beef fillet was very tender and of high quality, and I was surprised by the plump shrimp in the shrimp fry, not just the batter. I highly recommend this plate. The Clubhouse Sandwich was delicious, similar to what you can get at Royal Host.

The now-defunct "Continental Royal" located in the basement of the Fukubiru building was a traditional restaurant within the Royal Host group, not a family restaurant. It had high ceilings, tasseled curtains, silver cutlery, and dishes were presented on presentation plates for both soup and main courses. The current establishment, with "Café" in its name, seems to have a slightly lighter feel. I ordered the lunch plate, which came with a consommé soup with actual ingredients, a warm whole mountain bread roll, a tomato sauce salmon meunière with sautéed spinach underneath, flavorful meat, and a mini gratin rice dish that tasted like the Royal's signature dish. The salad had a variety of vegetables and delicious ham, and the Royal's dressing was delightful. The yogurt served at the end was a surprise dessert. The coffee tasted like it was poured from a pot. The price was around 2,400 yen. It's a nice place to relax, so I will definitely visit again.

I had Hashed Beef Omelette Rice for ¥1,150! My friend across the table, whom I met for the first time in 5 years, had Cosmo Doria for ¥1,200! We found this restaurant while walking around because the nearby pasta cheese shop we were supposed to go to had a delayed opening. The age group was older, with a few small children around. It was a beautiful and formal place, almost like dining at a wedding. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and while chatting with my friend, our turn came quickly so we didn't have to wait long. The staff were friendly and guided us to a nice table with a smile. The menu prices were generally on the higher side. However, considering the atmosphere, I think it's reasonable. The rice in the omelette rice was plain white rice, the egg was thin, and there were small, hard bits stuck to the spoon. For the price, I expected a bit more, but if you consider that you're paying for the ambiance, it might be worth it. It just wasn't quite my cup of tea! ^^

Grandpa, grandma, and everyone had lunch together at a spacious restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food was delicious, and I would love to try other menu items next time. The coffee jelly topped with vanilla ice cream was amazing and incredibly tasty!

The Fuk Building has been demolished for quite some time now. In the past, there was Continental Royal in the basement of Fuk Building. Now it operates inside Hakata Daimaru. I stopped by after visiting the Shimosuke Ken's exhibition. It's been a while since I last visited. I considered ordering the hamburger or meat set, but I chose the classic Cosmo Doria instead. And my favorite CC Brown Sundae. I think Cosmo Doria is tastier here than at Royal Host. The atmosphere is also nice. The classic uniforms of the waitresses match well too. I ordered a set, so it came with coffee, onion soup, and bread. The bread was crispy on the outside and chewy inside. This style is popular now, but Royal has always been like this. The chestnut aroma is nice, the white sauce has a good thickness without being too heavy, large shrimp, and for some reason, lemon. The lemon adds a nice touch. I love squeezing lemon on it. After the meal, they brought me the CC Brown Sundae with coffee. I have memories of eating it in Shintencho (where Lotteria is now), but the atmosphere is different. The chic feel of Fuk Building, the relatively bright feel of Shintencho, and Daimaru is somewhere in between. I always debate whether to pour the warm chocolate on the CC Brown Sundae immediately. My way of eating it is to eat the cherry first. I set aside the mint to eat later. I take a few bites without adding anything and then slowly pour the chocolate. I add the chocolate little by little. Personally, I feel a special connection, and for some reason, the coffee here goes perfectly with the CC Brown Sundae. It brings back various memories, both good and bad. Whenever something happens, I always used to eat the CC Brown Sundae. I will surely continue to eat it in the future.

I wonder how long it has been. I visited this place after a long time. I had lunch on this day. The age group at this restaurant is always on the higher side. I was undecided on what to order... but ended up with my favorite Cosmo Doria, and even had a parfait. I love the Cosmo Doria with its gooey cheese. I enjoyed it until the very end while it was still hot. Of course, the parfait was delicious too. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

The job site this time was the 1st floor passage plaza of Fukuoka Daimaru. I left the site to the director, but there wasn't much time to relax for lunch, so I decided to go up to the 5th floor to Elgala. Cafe Royal was relatively empty. It's a Fukuoka-originated Royal cafe. I had the Clubhouse Sandwich coffee set for 1276 yen. It may not look like a food sample, but it's fine. It's event food, so it ended quickly. You can also have a coffee refill, but only one cup. After operating in Fukuoka Building for 38 years, it relocated to Daimaru Elgala in 2000. This is a "traditional restaurant that has continued to preserve the taste of Royal for many years." The interior is spacious and has a sophisticated atmosphere compared to Royal Host. I visited around 1 pm and had to wait about 10 minutes as it was full. I was torn between the hamburger, but couldn't resist the shrimp fry and crab cream croquette, so I chose the Combination Dish Lunch Set (1780 yen including tax). It includes three classic Western dishes. - Onion soup: I've been having onion soup a lot lately, and this one also has a delicious taste of onions. - For the main plate, you can choose between bread or rice, so I chose rice and iced coffee for the drink. - The main plate includes hamburger, shrimp fry, crab cream croquette, and vegetables. The shrimp fry uses large shrimp and is delicious. There was tartar sauce under the croquette. - I thought the hamburger was from a retort pouch, but it tasted homemade. However, the sauce had a strong tomato flavor, so I would prefer a richer demi-glace sauce. - The crab cream croquette was simply delicious. - The rice was shiny and tasty. - The iced coffee was good as well. It's easy to dine alone and you can enjoy a leisurely meal, making it convenient for shopping trips.

Today I went shopping at Daimaru!! As expected, I got thirsty and a little hungry... I'm in the restaurant area of Daimaru now, trying to decide what to eat. I decided to play it safe and went for a drink at Royal haha. I wanted something to snack on, so I ordered a seafood salad!! I also wanted something sweet, so I got some pancakes too!! Alcohol and something sweet!! It's easy to find a place to eat in Daimaru, right...? I didn't have a main dish this time, so maybe next time I'll try ordering one haha.

Thank you for the slow dinner. Instead of ketchup, the rice was saffron butter rice, and even a little bit of meat provided satisfaction. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a high-end restaurant. The place was full of elderly people. I had omurice, and it was very delicious.

The meat and fish are both delicious! I like the seasoning too! It's a bit pricey probably because it's in Daimaru, but it was so tasty~ I want to eat it again! The restaurant is spacious, so if it's not too crowded, you can get in quickly.

I also brought my sister's child (1 year old) with me. They immediately provided a child seat, which was very helpful ❤️(*^^*) I ordered the Chef's Recommended Lunch Plate during lunchtime. I had an iced coffee as my drink. The soup arrived right after ordering. It was an onion consommé soup with a bit of pepper, so delicious❗️ I chose bread, which was a great choice❤️ The fluffy bread with butter was just right❗️ The plate arrived quickly with beef fillet, sautéed white fish, mini gratin, salad, fruit yogurt, and it was very satisfying❗️ The sauce for the sauté was also delicious, so I enjoyed dipping my bread in it (*^^*) I was so full❗️ haha The coffee after the meal was also delicious (*^^*) I will definitely go back.

I wanted to drink some tea after a long time, so I went to Lupicia on the 5th floor of Elgala, but it was closed. It's a shame because there aren't many tea specialty stores around. Then I went to Wienerwald on the 6th floor, but there were about 10 people waiting in line, so I gave up on that too. I can't bring myself to wait in line just to have a meal or tea. But it's surprising that there were people lining up even at 3 PM. So I went back to the 5th floor and settled at Continental Cafe Royal. As soon as I entered, I thought the interior and atmosphere were similar to Royal Host, but a bit more high-class and chic. I ordered the Fruit Pancake because I felt like having pancakes. The Fruit Pancake & Coffee set was 1,180 yen, and the Baked Apple & Coffee set was 1,150 yen. It's nice that you can enjoy both maple syrup and blueberry syrup. The taste was moist and simple. It was just an ordinary taste. When it comes to simple pancakes, I prefer the ones at Campbell Early in Hakata City. The service was good and the atmosphere was calm, so it might be nice to use it for a light lunch or cafe.
