The Club Lounge, located on the 24th floor of Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City, is a cozy and luxurious lounge exclusive to the club level of The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka. The lounge offers excellent food presentations throughout the day and is staffed with a dedicated concierge 24 hours a day. The sophisticated decor combines both Japanese and Western elements, creating a comfortable and elegant atmosphere. The dress code is smart casual, and the lounge is open from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm (until 6:30 pm for guests under 20 years old). The "Tenjin Big Bang" project aims to create a new space and job opportunities in the Tenjin area of Fukuoka by revitalizing private buildings through regulatory relaxations. The area within a radius of about 500 meters from the Tenjin intersection has been undergoing significant changes, contributing to the enhancement of Fukuoka's urban brand and its growth as a leading city in Asia. The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka, the seventh Ritz-Carlton hotel in Japan and the first luxury hotel in Kyushu, has opened in the former Daimyo Elementary School site redevelopment project, Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City. Adjacent to Tenjin, a hub for shopping, tourism, and business, the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Tenjin Station. Offering top-notch service and the ultimate guest experience, the hotel is a highly anticipated addition to the city. I made a reservation for the club level accommodation and arrived by car since I live in the prefecture. I parked in the underground parking lot and walked a bit to reach the hotel, which consists of two buildings that are not directly connected but are adjacent. The approach to the hotel felt like entering a different world. I arrived an hour before check-in time and was welcomed with a drink in the lobby lounge. I was informed that I could use the club lounge even at this time and was guided to the top floor. The club lounge entrance featured a stone statue resembling a Shisa. The lounge had large windows, creating a bright and spacious L-shaped space with a modern Japanese-Western design. I chose a seat and was presented with the drink menu, which included a bottle of champagne. I ordered the house champagne, Brut Premier Cru, from a famous champagne maison founded by three brothers who are grandsons of the eldest son of Taittinger. The champagne was very satisfying. At 2:30 pm, the afternoon tea set was prepared on the table. The set included various sweets and savory items, such as a rare cheesecake made with Oita-grown kabosu, a cassis opera cake, and a white peach and red shiso verrine made with Fukuoka-grown ingredients. The warm scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, and strawberry jam were delightful. The savory items included a cream of snow crab and cauliflower, a sandwich with Prosciutto and purple sweet potato, and a fresh fish rillette with a jellied sake from Chikushino. I was already feeling relaxed and satisfied even before checking in. While enjoying my drinks, I checked in at the club lounge and was informed about the special hospitality for club residents and the wonderful dining experiences prepared for me. The package included breakfast, light snacks, afternoon tea, pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres, cocktail drinks, and cordials. I was also told to inquire about the secret menu for lunchtime. I was already in a good mood and thought I might not even need to go out for dinner.
