▼About the Shop▼
Hōhiko HP is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop founded in 1849 in Osaka, Shimanouchi. This branch is one of their chain stores known for their sweet senbei and other traditional Japanese sweets, with a total of 6 stores in Osaka and Nara.
▼Menu▼
Their menu includes various traditional Japanese sweets such as their specialty senbei, yokan, and mikasa.
▼Food Consumed▼
▽Mikasa 151 yen
A simple and moist mikasa with a perfect balance of sweetness and a hint of honey flavor. The red bean paste inside complements the soft and slightly sweet skin of the mikasa very well.
▼Impressions▼
Founded in 1849 in the Shimanouchi area of Osaka, this shop is a true veteran in the world of Japanese confectionery. This branch in Hōtanzan is located north of Hōtanzan Station, and despite its traditional roots, the mikasa had a slightly modern twist to its taste. While the mikasa was delicious, the shop is known for its sweet senbei, so I look forward to trying that next time.
