To Ryufuku, a pork bun specialty shop located in Komagawa Shopping Street. When it comes to pork buns in Osaka, the classic choices are 551 and Futami, but this was my first time visiting here. I've seen it on TV occasionally and was curious. There are tables and chairs in front of the shop, so you can eat there on the spot. The pork bun was piping hot, with a packet of mustard. In terms of the ratio of filling to dough, I thought the filling was a bit less compared to 551 or Futami, but unlike them, you can enjoy it as a snack. (With the classics, you get full quickly...) At 160 yen, I think it's a good deal. I'd like to try something different next time, so I'll visit again. Thank you for the meal!

After eating monjayaki, we wanted to try this pork bun shop nearby. Even though it's hot, we lined up! But the turnover is fast. There are chairs in front of the shop, so let's eat here. I had the char siu bun and my partner had the pork bun. As always, our standard for taste is set by a famous shop in Osaka. The prices are reasonable and they also have dumplings, spring rolls, shumai, and xiaolongbao. It seems popular among locals as customers keep coming in one after another. I had the char siu bun, but it seemed like there was too much filling and not enough meat. It felt more like an anko bun than a char siu bun. The dough was okay, with a hint of sweetness, but my partner's pork bun didn't impress either. Maybe it's because we just ate, but it wasn't that delicious. I think I'll stick to going to the famous shops. We bought the pork buns from this individual shop out of curiosity, but we were blown away by the deliciousness of Genman in Wakayama!

The chewy dough with plenty of sweet red bean paste is packed tightly in this Chinese steamed bun. Some people even compare it to the famous pork bun from that place. It is true that the quality is on par with it. It is amazing that people line up from lunchtime. It is cheap and delicious. This popular local shop is truly impressive. Thank you for your patronage.

In February of the 5th year of Reiwa, the business hours are from 10:00 to 19:00. The pork bun costs 160 yen and is filled with plenty of ingredients. It is delicious and affordable, but when compared to 551, it may seem slightly inferior.

On the way back after buying mixed tempura at Morioka Shoten, my daughter spotted a store. She said she remembered the tempura she had at Tenmi was delicious. It seems it's even better than 551. There were about 5 people in line, so we went to Sarashina first. After finishing eating there, we went back and there was only one person in line, so we were able to buy easily. We took home 2 pork buns to steam before eating. But wow, these pork buns are heavy!! In the evening, we microwaved them and enjoyed a delicious meal. Thank you for the treat (´∀`*)

Visited a friend's recommended shop to get takeout for a year-end party. Here are the details:
- Shop: Seems to specialize in takeout.
- Line: Around 6 people in line past noon, likely due to the year-end rush.
- Order: 4 pork buns, 2 char siu buns, 2 vegetable buns.
- Taste: The pork buns reminded me of a taste I've had somewhere before (a classic Osaka pork bun taste). The skin was chewy and delicious.
- Impression: I never expected to find such delicious pork buns in Komagawa Shotengai. I really enjoyed the chewy texture of the skin.

Today, I bought dinner here. It was featured on a local TV show before. It's located just off the main shopping street. There were already 6 people waiting, so I kept my distance and joined the line. They only sell food to go, so I got my order quickly. I ordered 2 pork buns and 2 servings of shumai (10 pieces) for 640 yen. It's quite reasonable. When I got home, I steamed them lightly and they were so fluffy. The ingredients were well seasoned, so dipping them in a little mustard is the best way to eat them. When you think of pork buns in Osaka, "55 Shichirin" comes to mind, but the difference is that 55 Shichirin uses coarsely ground ingredients with onions for a distinctive flavor, while these buns have a more refined taste. They were delicious. I'll save the shumai for tomorrow's lunch. Thank you for the meal.

Shopping at Komagawa Shotengai ♬ We tried the pork buns and char siu buns from Ryufuku-san - ordered at the counter and they arrived quickly (*^^*) My partner, who was hungry by lunchtime, had sparkling eyes (lol). We sat on a bench in front of the store and started with the char siu bun. It was big! When we broke the thick white skin, we found lots of char siu inside. It was delicious with a good balance of sweet bean paste and char siu. Next, we tried the pork bun. Again, it was big! When we broke the thick white skin, we found a moist and fragrant filling inside. It was full of pork and very satisfying to eat. Both were big and delicious! My partner even said, "We don't need to go to Minami-machi in Kobe, this place is cheaper, bigger, and tastier." We were so satisfied with the portion size, taste, and price. Komagawa Shotengai is a great place for shopping and food, so we want to come back for a nearby outing. Of course, we'll have lunch at Ryufuku-san again (^_^)v Thank you for the delicious pork buns and char siu buns! m(_ _)m

There is a local branch of Ryufuku in Matsubara, and I have been quite pleased with it since I started using it. It is a takeout-only shop specializing in dim sum, including pork buns. The one I visited is the first branch, so I'm not sure if it's considered the main store. This time, I bought pork buns for 160 yen each, char siu buns for 160 yen each, vegetable buns for 160 yen each, and 5 pieces of shumai for 160 yen. I have tried the three types of Chinese buns before, and they are always good. They are quite large and filling, with just the right softness and thickness of the skin. They are full of ingredients, so you don't get tired of eating them. Personally, I like the filling of the char siu buns the best. This was my first time buying shumai, and they were also delicious. They are all light and easy to eat. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. As a side note, in my opinion, the best Chinese bun (pork bun) is 551's Hourai. Also, I still can't get used to the thickness of the skin. Sometimes it's hard to reach the filling even when chewing. However, compared to that, I really like the Chinese buns here.

I visited "Ryufuku" in Komagawa Shotengai. A few years ago, there used to be long lines, but recently there are hardly any. I tried the pork bun and char siu bun (each 160 yen including tax). I wanted to try the red bean bun as well, but they were sold out by the time I got there, so I settled for the char siu bun. The Chinese buns here are all very substantial. The pork bun had moist and juicy fillings, with a generous amount of oil used. The flavors of the vegetables and meat were delicious. The char siu bun had chunks of meat inside, and paired well with the thick soy sauce filling. In the past, the buns used to have wooden sheets underneath which made it difficult to separate the bun, but now they use paper which makes it easier. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

After drinking at Darumaya in Kawachi Tenjin, I decided to take the train and head to Komagawa Shotengai because I wanted to try the pork buns at Ryufuku. Ryufuku has four stores in the southern part of Osaka, with this main store in Komagawa Shotengai being the most famous. The website mentions that the pork buns are made by a craftsman who worked at a famous pork bun specialty shop in Namba for over 7 years.
I purchased both the pork bun and the char siu bun. I wanted to buy the shumai as well, but it was sold out. I got two of each for takeaway and also decided to eat one on the spot. The pork bun had a soft and slightly chewy skin, with a lot of crunchy texture from the onions in the filling. The pork was juicy, and the sesame oil flavor was strong. The char siu bun looked similar to the pork bun but had black sesame on top. The meat inside was more like braised pork, very tender and flavorful.
Overall, Ryufuku's pork buns are similar in taste to those from Nippon Ham. However, Ryufuku offers a variety of dim sum in addition to pork buns, making it a good choice for those who want to try different dishes. Unfortunately, I fell asleep on the subway ride home due to being full and having had some alcohol, and almost missed my stop. In my rush to get off the train, I left the bags with the buns behind. Despite losing my souvenirs, I was able to taste the food, take photos, and enjoy the experience.

Whenever I come to Komagawa Shopping Street, I can't leave without eating the pork buns here. I recently learned that the shop is run by someone who trained at a famous pork bun specialty shop in Namba (not 551). Luckily, there was no line and I was able to buy them right away! I bought some water from the vending machine next to the shop, and enjoyed the hot buns at the eat-in space outside. The texture of the onions is firm and sweet, making it incredibly delicious! When I bought them at a shop near Nagai Park before, they cooled down quickly and weren't that great, but here, they are definitely delicious! Thank you for the meal!

At Komagawa Shotengai, the must-have item is the pork bun. I always buy some to keep in the freezer during the winter. There are many ways to eat it, but my favorite is to add lots of mustard and eat it while my nose tingles.

☆ Lunch trip with my wife (Komagawa shopping street)! In my opinion, No.2, I will take out these pork buns as a snack for evening drinks. Placed an order! * "Pork buns" 160 yen x2 ... 3.5 Still as delicious as ever. The balance between the outer crust and the filling inside is just right. Unlike a certain famous shop where the outer crust is thick and firm, making the balance with the filling inside not quite right, here the juiciness of the filling combined with the balance of the whole bun is perfect. I love how they mix the richness of the pork, the umami of the fat, and the sweetness of the onions in perfect harmony, resulting in a juicy finish. I personally love to dip them in mustard and ponzu sauce. * "Shumai (5 pieces)" 160 yen ... 3.5 This one also competes for the top spot in my opinion. The shumai has a savory flavor similar to a wonton inside a ramen, with the pork inside asserting its meatiness. Overall, the shumai was a bit lacking in quantity. Since there are two of us, from now on, I'll have to order at least 10 pieces to satisfy my craving.

Visited on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, around 4:00 pm. I got off at Komagawa Nakano Station after a long time and did some shopping at Komagawa Shotengai. It's a retro shopping street with a lingering old-town atmosphere. I bought vegetables at the greengrocer, and meat at specialized shops like chicken or pork. It's fun to occasionally shop at specialty stores instead of just getting everything at the supermarket. Of course, I also bought seasonal firefly squid at the fishmonger, and picked up some artisan tofu at the tofu shop. It was enjoyable. Moving on, about a 10-minute walk from Komagawa Nakano Station, not directly on the shopping street but if you walk a bit past it and turn left, you'll find a pork bun shop. They also have dumplings and spring rolls. It's similar to Yatai 551. Unfortunately, the vegetable buns were sold out. I bought one pork bun for ¥160 and one char siu bun for ¥160. The char siu bun with black sesame seeds was delicious! The size is big, even compared to Yatai 551, and the price is only ¥160, like convenience store prices. I heated them up at home and enjoyed them. The char siu bun had chunky, flavorful pork inside, similar to the braised pork buns from Iwasaki Honpo in Nagasaki. It's affordable and a must-visit when shopping at Komagawa Shotengai. This is a must-visit for pork bun lovers!

On Sunday at 2 pm, Komagawa shopping street is bustling. The narrow street is crowded with people walking, pushing bicycles, and pushing senior carts. Unlike a touristy shopping street, this place is filled with local people, especially seniors. There is a line at the red tent on the side street, that's the shop. Four and a half ladies are waiting in line. The person in front is buying in units of 10?! When it's their turn, they order, "2 pork buns, 2 char siu buns, 1 serving of spring rolls, 1 serving of shumai, 1 serving of boiled dumplings." They seem to be Chinese. Inside the shop, 4.5 people are wrapping pork buns and char siu buns (with a mountain of filling). Pork bun 160 yen, char siu bun 160 yen, 4 spring rolls 350 yen, 1 serving of shumai 160 yen, 1 serving of boiled dumplings 400 yen. All are priced for locals, not tourists. When eaten at home, the pork bun is huge. "Wow, delicious! It's even better than that famous pork bun." The char siu bun is also huge. "This is delicious too! The chunky char siu is amazing!" The spring rolls are delicious. You can really taste the filling. The shumai is just delicious. The boiled dumplings are chewy and taste great with the soup and chili oil. With 2 beers, I was so full that dinner was out of the question. I'll come back again, next time I'll buy more and maybe some souvenirs too.

On March 1, 2020, I bought a souvenir at Komagawa Shopping Street! This shopping street is very friendly to the general public, with vegetables, meat, and overall affordable prices. I had been curious about the "nikuman" (meat bun) for a while, so I bought two for 150 yen each, totaling 300 yen. This shopping street is home to well-known shops like "551" and "Futami." I think opinions may be divided when it comes to these meat buns. For the price of 150 yen, they are quite large. The balance between the filling inside and the amount of dough outside is exquisite. The filling has a rich and meaty flavor with a hint of sweetness from the onions. I have become a fan of these meat buns and look forward to trying other items on the menu next time.

On my way back from Higashisumiyoshi Ward Community Center, I passed through Komagawa Shopping Street and was looking for a takeout shop for tonight's dinner. I found Ryufuku-san! It's a takeout specialty store that can also ship nationwide. There are seats next to the shop, so you can eat right away. The menu had a lot of options. Around 4 pm, the shop was not too busy, so I was able to buy quickly. I bought the pork bun for ¥160 and the chicken and rice dumplings (5 pieces) for ¥400, which I like. When I warmed them up at home and tried them, the pork bun had a fluffy skin, and the ingredients inside were delicious. There were plenty of onions, which were sweet, and the meat was juicy and tasty. It was so good that I want to go back for more. The chicken and rice dumplings were also delicious. The cost performance was great, and now I want to try the char siu bun and vegetable bun as well. Thank you for the meal!

I have visited this place several times, but today I came with the aim of trying the anman at Ryufuku. As always, the cost performance is great and each menu item is cheap and delicious! The pork bun with a firm dough is delicious, but the anman with a generous amount of sweet bean paste is also delicious! It's truly the recommended anman that even Matsuko recommends.✨

This is a handmade pork bun specialty shop located in Komagawa Shotengai. It's a shop that I came across while running errands in Komagawa Shotengai, and apparently all the locals know about it. It's embarrassing that I didn't know about it until now. Osaka's specialty, pork buns!! But the pork buns here are truly the best Osaka specialty!! It's big and delicious! Packed with filling! I had it with beer. The balance between the skin and the filling is great, and it goes really well with beer! It's also okay to eat it with mustard! The skin is not sweet, so it's delicious even without mustard. Handmade pork buns are delicious! They warm your belly in the cold season. Some people walk around the shopping street while eating. It's nice to do some shopping while strolling around the shopping street. The shumai was also delicious! We had it with spicy soy sauce. There are many other ingredients in the pork buns, so I want to try a different one next time. The dumplings also look delicious! I'll come back to the shopping street to buy some more! (^-^)/
