Today I went to Motomachi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka. It was raining again, just like yesterday, and it started pouring down harder around noon. I decided to have lunch nearby and searched for options on my phone. I remembered that there was a new restaurant next to "Tachinomi Tatchi" called "Sukiya Men Motomachi Store," so I headed there with my umbrella. I arrived around 12:10 PM. The sign said it was a Chinese cuisine restaurant, but it turned out to be a takeout and bento specialty store, not a dine-in place. The store had just opened on November 17th and the staff working on deliveries seemed lively. They were having an opening sale, so I decided to try the "Service Lunch" (bento), which was 50 yen off the regular price of 650 yen. I chose the "Stamina Yaki (pork)" as the main dish. They asked if I wanted extra rice for an additional 100 yen, but I opted for the regular portion. The freshly made bento was so satisfying and the flavorful Stamina Yaki went well with the rice. It was delicious. The portion size was just right, and I realized it would've been too much if I had ordered the large size. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I later found out that "Sukiya Men" also has a store in Chuo-ku, Shimanouchi area, so this must be a branch. I was impressed by the attentive service and wish them continued success. A bento shop opened in Namba Motomachi, right next to the standing bar "Tatchi". During the first 3 days of opening, they offered a daily special bento at a 50 yen discount. I decided to go for the daily special without hesitation. On that day, the daily special included fried chicken and white fish fry, fried rice (quite a generous portion), sausages and fried shumai, salad, and pickled radish. The fried items were crispy and juicy, especially when dipped in the herb salt provided in aluminum foil. The generous amount of mayonnaise on the side of the salad was a nice touch. The main dish, the fried rice, was freshly made and had a generous portion. Overall, the food was plentiful, freshly made, and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Motomachi Koya Men Motomachi Store Tonkotsu ramen and large fried rice with kimchi (and mapo noodles) for 2900 yen for delivery! Shared the large fried rice with a coworker. Koya Men is voluminous, reasonably priced, and quite delicious! And most importantly, the delivery is fast!! I was very hungry, so I devoured it like Chihiro's parents in Spirited Away. On my way back, I passed by and decided to get some "yakisoba" for takeout. It was ready in 7-8 minutes, but it's now 850 yen, seems like they raised the price. It used to be more affordable. I ordered a delivery. I was craving curry, and as I was browsing, I came across Tianjin rice, and the rice was fried rice, haha! I had to try it. I ordered a large portion with a fried egg on top. The combination of Tianjin rice and curry, each bringing out the other's uniqueness, is fantastic! The curry is simple and homey, while the Tianjin rice adds its own flair. It was delicious. I will definitely order it again!
