New Otani Hakata's rich and delicious tonkotsu ramen. Next to it is a quaint old-fashioned dining district with a strong Showa era vibe. On a Sunday afternoon, with only a couple of shops open, I decided to try this place. I ordered a beer and enjoyed a light drink. The menu consists of ramen, toppings, and fried rice. It would be nice to have gyoza as a snack. The ramen was rich and had a soy sauce tonkotsu flavor. The fried rice was crispy and had a taste that everyone enjoys.

The flavor was strong, with a richness similar to Tenkaippin, and thin noodles like Shinsen. It was delicious! However, the rice was not very tasty, which was disappointing. Since the soup flavor is strong, I would prefer the rice to be more delicious even if it costs a bit more.

Located close to Tenjin, in Sanseleco on Watanabe Street, this restaurant offers collagen-rich, rich pork bone ramen. It is a long-established restaurant, considered a pioneer in rich pork bone ramen. There is also a branch called "Nidaime Hakata Ramen Teikoku" in Saga City. The restaurant is located in the basement of Sanseleco, a commercial facility just a 2-3 minute walk from Watanabe Station, next to Tenjin Minami Station on the Nanakuma Line. During lunchtime, the place is crowded with nearby office workers, but it becomes deserted after lunch hours. The most popular choice among male office workers is the affordable, quick, and delicious pork bone ramen offered here. The basic pork bone ramen costs 600 yen, with an extra noodle refill for 100 yen. Other options include black pork bone with ma-yu, soy sauce pork bone, chicken bone (salt/soy sauce), and seafood pork bone dipping noodles. The half-boiled seasoned egg ramen costs 700 yen, while the Negi-yama ramen costs 700 yen as well. The soup is thick and rich, just the right amount of richness for everyday consumption. The low hydration ultra-thin noodles retain their firmness even after some time. I ordered the noodles to be cooked firm. In addition to the ultra-thin noodles refill for 100 yen, there is also a flat thick noodle refill for 150 yen. The seafood pork bone dipping noodles served from 2 pm onwards come with flat thick noodles. Adding the crispy fried garlic provided on the table enhances the flavor. The standard sesame is not available, but there are two types of pepper, white and black, and pickled mustard greens are available for an extra charge. The set menu is also reasonably priced. The ramen rice costs 680 yen. It was a delicious meal.

I haven't had the chance to go to Sancelco yet, but I recently tried Gold for the first time (lol). Dragon soup, a good name for us Z generation folks. It's a famous ramen from Hakata, right? It would be great if they offered free takana!

●Ramen Teikoku Main Store● 1-1-1 Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, B1F San Selco Bldg.
●Tonkotsu Ramen: 600 yen●
Personal impression:
【Soup】Rich and fragrant pork bone broth
【Noodles】Firm and thin noodles with a crispy texture
【Toppings】Chashu pork, green onions
Impression: A rich and flavorful tonkotsu ramen that you can really taste the pork bone essence. A great choice for when you crave a hearty pork broth. Despite being located in the heart of Fukuoka, the price of 600 yen is a steal and sure to make salarymen happy!

Ramen shop located in the basement of Sanseko. I had been wanting to visit for a few years, and finally went for the first time. It was crowded with office workers on a weekday. The soup was emulsified and foamy, rich and without any unpleasant smell. The noodles were very chewy and delicious. When I ordered an extra serving of noodles, the sauce was already poured on top, but surprisingly, the taste didn't change at all! Most places, when you order extra noodles, even if you add sauce, the flavor diminishes, but here, for some reason, it stayed the same, and I even felt like it became more delicious. Overall, the quality was high, and I highly recommend it!

In the past, I heard that there was a ramen shop in Ohashi, Fukuoka. I visited San Selco after hearing that the ramen there was delicious. It was rare to have menma in tonkotsu ramen. This time, I ordered a set of ramen, half-fried rice, and gyoza. The ramen was rich and flavorful. The fried rice was small and easy to eat. The gyoza was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Personally, I'm not a fan of sesame seeds in the initial setting, so that's the only downside for me. ⭐︎

Today's lunch was at "Ramen Teikoku Honten" located in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, next to Hotel New Otani at the intersection of Watanabe Street 1-chome. The restaurant is located on the basement floor of Sanseleco, known for its affordable and delicious eateries. The exterior of the restaurant has a traditional ramen shop facade. Inside, there are single seats facing the wall and a few tables for four, run by a couple. The menu offers a variety of noodle dishes including rich pork bone, light chicken broth, and seafood pork bone ramen, with options for thin, thick, or flat noodles. During lunchtime, they also offer set menus like spicy Chinese cabbage rice set for 800 yen. The ramen arrived with a thick, foamy soup, with a piece of chashu buried in the bubbles. The soup was rich and concentrated, and the noodles were thin and firm, typical of Hakata ramen. The chashu was tender and delicious, although the portion was a bit small. The spicy Chinese cabbage rice was a hit, perfectly seasoned and complementing the rice well. Overall, the ramen was satisfying, and I would like to revisit to try the light chicken broth ramen.

This ramen shop takes pride in its Dragon Soup, made by simmering a large amount of pig feet and pork bones over high heat for a long time. Located in the San Selco building adjacent to Hotel New Otani Hakata, it offers a menu featuring "Rich Pig Feet! Super Collagen Soup." Although highly recommended for women due to its collagen-rich soup, the atmosphere of the shop is not particularly feminine. My colleague and I sat at a 4-person table, with single seats separated for COVID-19 prevention measures. The menu includes the basic tonkotsu ramen for 600 yen (tax included), as well as seafood tonkotsu tsukemen, non-pork bone chicken broth shio ramen, and shoyu ramen. Different types of noodles are used for each menu item, such as ultra-thin, thick, or flat noodles. During lunchtime, there are various affordable set menus available. The ramen rice costs 680 yen, while the half-boiled seasoned egg ramen is 700 yen. The soup is visibly rich and creamy, with a strong pork bone aroma, making it clear that it's a delicious ramen even before you start eating. It's not the modern rich tonkotsu style, but rather a traditional pork bone ramen made thick and hearty. The ultra-thin noodles are well coated in the soup and delicious. The garlic chips on the table add a fragrant crunch to the creamy soup, enhancing the overall flavor. My colleague ordered the seafood tonkotsu tsukemen (regular) for 880 yen. The rich dipping sauce arrived with a unique aroma. The noodles, medium-thick and flat, were smooth and had a good chewiness. The base of the dipping sauce is the essence of the Dragon Soup from the Ramen Empire. Despite being labeled as seafood tonkotsu, the strong Dragon Soup overpowers the seafood flavor. However, the subtle hint of seafood after slurping the noodles plays an important role in the overall deliciousness. The pleasant collagen sensation on the lips adds to the enjoyment of the tasty tsukemen. The large seaweed and chashu-like pork topping are also delightful.

It was my first time visiting Ramen Teikoku. While it's a classic tonkotsu ramen, I felt that its variety and deliciousness set it apart from others! I'm curious about their tsukemen and light chicken broth ramen too... Everyone, be sure to come and try it out!

I am known for my love of pig's trotters, and these pig's trotters have a crispy texture from frying and the meat is very tender, not getting stuck in your teeth. They are the most delicious pig's trotters. When added to ramen, I worry about the calories, so I prefer to have them with white rice. At my age, I am satisfied with just pig's trotters.

The ramen shop not only offers tonkotsu soup but also several other flavors, which often leads to some shops having mediocre tastes. However, this shop manages to make all flavors delicious, catering to the taste buds of people from various regions. The tonkotsu ramen here is not only on par with nearby street stalls and tonkotsu specialty shops, but I would recommend this place as one of the best in Hakata for tonkotsu ramen. Despite the slightly suspicious name, the shop lives up to its reputation. (laughs)

It was my first visit. The Emperor Special, Black Tonkotsu, and Half Fried Rice were so delicious that I was wondering how much I could eat, but the satisfaction level was high, so I recommend it. Especially the Black Tonkotsu had such a good smell that when I eagerly took a bite, it was super hot and almost burnt me, so -0.1 point for that! Sorry! Haha. I would like to go eat there again when I visit Hakata next time. Thank you for the meal!

Yesterday evening the building felt a bit lonely, but during the day it was quite lively. Today I had the salt ramen. The "Goku Shio Ramen" was refreshing and easy to eat. The price is quite reasonable. It seems like a couple runs the place during the day, which gives a different vibe compared to the evening (probably because of the woman). Despite the lonely building, I hope they do well.

Today, I went to Ramen Teikoku for the first time in 2 years. I had never tried their fried rice before, so I decided to go with a half fried rice and ramen set. The ramen had thin noodles and a unique soup that was delicious. Everyone has their own preference for fried rice, but I personally like dry and crispy fried rice, so I was disappointed that the fried rice was oily and sticky. If I have the chance, I would like to try their dipping noodles next time.

The underground first floor of Sansekoru Building, where I rarely visit except for license renewals. This time, I went during lunchtime! Sansekoru has a unique nostalgic atmosphere, don't you think? And for some reason, there are many curry shops. This time, I had the "Negi Buta Gohan Set" for lunch. First, the ramen. The soup is rich in pork bone flavor. It's mild and creamy, isn't it!? It's not too heavy, just right! The noodles are thin, giving it a Hakata ramen feel. The Negi Buta Gohan is a manly meal! It's packed with flavor and you can really dig into it. For only 780 yen with all that, it's a great deal. It was really delicious! There were only two staff members, but they were quick and efficient! It's nice to have fast service. The female staff in the dining area, in particular, was able to take care of customers even when in a rush, showing attention and consideration. You can feel at ease even during a busy lunchtime with little time to spare! And finally, on my way out, I saw the sign for Black Tonkotsu Ramen, which caught my eye... I love ramen with plenty of ma-yu. I'll definitely come back to try it! Thank you for the meal!!

This is also a revisit after almost a year. It seems like a common thing to think about coming back to a favorite restaurant and actually doing it a year later haha. I visited this place again like that, almost as if it suddenly popped into my mind. During lunchtime, there are many set options like half-fried rice, negi pork rice, spicy pickled mustard greens rice, and pork pickled mustard greens rice. However, just like last time, I chose the set with white rice for 630 yen! There was also a Dragon Set with tonkotsu ramen and Imperial curry that seemed like something Bronze might jump at for 980 yen. It took about 7-8 minutes for the food to be served. I added some pepper, sesame seeds, and pickled ginger before tasting the soup! Hmm, it has a mild tonkotsu flavor but still has a strong umami taste. The noodles were reassuringly low-hydration thin straight noodles. Maybe I should have gotten an extra serving without rice... The chashu pork was a thick block type, which is rare for Hakata ramen. I feel like I remember it being like this last time too. I'll come back again when I remember it next time♪

For the closing, we went to a shop that serves Hakata ramen. It's located in the underground food court of a commercial building, which seems quite empty at night with only a few shops open. The shop also closes early, but we made it just in time. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen for 580 yen. Despite not being too distinctive, the ramen had a creamy flavor without any unpleasant smell, which was enjoyable, especially after drinking.

Since the time when it was located at Ohashi, I visited the first "Ramen Teikoku" after it moved to Sanseleco underground. The rich and intense pork bone flavor that I had when I ate at Ohashi was different from what I experienced this time. I want to eat that rich ramen from back then. ⚫︎ Ramen Teikoku Main Store Tonkotsu Ramen: 600 yen ◾︎ Food Beast Maro

I finally got to visit a restaurant I had been curious about for a while today. I ordered the regular and black ramen as soon as they opened. It was delicious, not too rich as I had expected. There was some unfamiliar garlic on the table, adding it made the ramen even more delicious ^^
