I visited "Szechuan Spicy Noodles Nishinakajima Store" in the Shin-Osaka area for the first time, which had always been a popular choice for ramen lovers.
- Arrival time: 1:00 PM
- Crowdedness: Almost full
It seems to be quite popular among those working nearby, as it is always packed during lunch hours for a few hours.
I ordered the Spicy Noodles with Silver Rice and Gyoza set. The rice is refillable! The Spicy Noodles come with a choice of spicy minced meat or sweet braised pork. I chose the sweet braised pork this time. It looked spicy even though it was described as sweet, but it wasn't that spicy.
The sesame flavor and spiciness were present, making it authentic, but personally, I prefer a bit more distinct saltiness or sweetness.
They provided condiments like Sansho pepper, chili oil, ground sesame, and lychee vinegar to adjust the flavor according to your preference.
The gyoza was average for a regular Chinese restaurant. They were of decent size and quantity, but I had decided to go for a second round of rice, which made me a bit nervous.
They also had chili oil and pickled vegetables available, but the containers were empty. I borrowed some from the neighboring set, but there wasn't much left.
The braised pork was tender and delicious. Let's eat with rice!
Thank you for the meal.

Tan Tan Men is my favorite restaurant. Today, I had the spicy Tan Tan Men at Chengdu Tan Tan Men, which is known for its spiciness. Spicy dishes can be tough on the stomach, so I haven't had them lately, but since it's Saturday, I decided to have a spicy one after a long time. The soup is delicious with just the right amount of sesame paste, giving it a refreshing taste with a perfect balance of flavor and spiciness. Adding a lot of ground sesame from the table enhances the sesame flavor. The fried garlic is also fragrant and highly recommended. I finish off with lychee vinegar for a refreshing touch. The noodles are medium thickness and mix well with the soup. Although I usually prefer thin noodles, I must admit that the thickness here complements the soup perfectly. I have explored various Tan Tan Men restaurants, but aside from the now-closed Heiwa-ro in Fukuoka, this place is my absolute favorite.

I have loved Sichuan spicy noodles since my days working in Osaka. I used to frequent the Kyobashi branch, but when I searched online before my trip after 3 years, I was shocked to find out it had closed. However, I discovered the last surviving branch and was impressed by the floor manager, an older lady who handled many customers by herself with grace and kindness. The taste is still the same as before, which is good, but they no longer serve lychee without signing up for Instagram, which is understandable given the rising costs but still sad. The soup seems to be a bit exaggerated in flavor compared to the past, not quite living up to the nostalgia. It used to be unique, but maybe it's time to move on. The half-fried rice in the lunch set was still delicious, so I'll give it a 0.5 point increase. Maybe my tastes have changed along with the restaurant's. If I have another business trip, I might give it one more try or just keep the memory as it is. I'll think about it again next time (lol).

Mapo tofu set. I thought it would come out quickly since it's lunch, but it took 30 minutes to finally arrive. Due to work commitments, I only had 10 minutes to eat and couldn't finish it... If it takes this long, I wish they would inform me in advance. Not recommended when you're in a hurry. I think the taste was delicious, but I don't remember much because I had to eat quickly.

Visited around 12 pm on a regular day. The place was almost full, mostly with nearby office workers. Ordered the Tan Tan Men (spicy) set with a half portion of Ma Po Don. It cost 1080 yen including tax. Asked for a free soft-boiled egg through Instagram follow. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes. The taste was quite strong, with the spiciness being moderate. The portion of noodles was on the smaller side, but it was enough considering it came with a half portion of Ma Po Don. The Ma Po Don was delicious, with an authentic Szechuan flavor. I preferred it over the Tan Tan Men. Therefore, I believe ordering the famous Ma Po Men with an extra bowl of rice through Instagram follow would be the best value for money at this restaurant.

Visited "Szechuan Spicy Noodles Nishinakajima" in Nishinakajima. It seems to be a popular spot for Szechuan-style tantanmen. Ordered the extra spicy tantanmen for 1,070 yen, limited to 50 servings. Tantanmen is a combination of sesame, chili oil, and spices, each restaurant has its own unique flavor, so it was enjoyable to taste the differences. Here, the tantan soup was rich in sesame flavor, with a combination of multiple spices and chili, making it a delicious soup. The tender simmered pork was sweet and savory, a rare taste that paired well with the spicy soup. Rice was included, so it seemed high in calories. The spiciness level was around a level 10 at Coco Ichibanya, enjoyable for those who love extreme spiciness. Visited on a Saturday at 11:30 am. The restaurant was already open and bustling with customers. The staff were friendly and energetic, making for a satisfying experience.

Ordered item... Tan Tan Men (Spicy Sesame Ramen) for 900 yen.
Dish description... The soup base is made of pork bone, chicken broth, soy sauce, and various vegetables. It's not too rich, more on the soupy side. The flavor of the braised pork is really delicious, I wish there was more of it. The taste is not overwhelming, which is nice. The noodles are on the thinner side and they pair well with the soup.

Sichuan-style ramen. I arrived at the restaurant around 10 pm but it was full. I ordered the new flavor tantanmen (mild spiciness). I thought it could use a bit more sesame flavor, but I was able to add extra sesame seeds so I was satisfied. It became really delicious. I used to go drinking at Nishinaka quite often in the past. It had been a while since I last visited, but it was nice to see that it was lively.

I really, really love this restaurant. I have been a regular customer for a long time. The taste is incredibly delicious. There are many ramen shops that are just spicy, but this one not only has spiciness but also a great umami flavor. The braised pork is especially delicious. And the grilled vegetables are also amazing. The level of oil is just right for me. It's irresistible for those who love rich flavors. It may not be Instagram-worthy, but it's really delicious. I wish it was closer so I could go more often.

I got addicted! I have to eat it at least once a month. I ordered extra spicy tantan noodles. I didn't notice it last time, but this time, the unique taste of foreign chili peppers. What is it? Carolina Reaper maybe? I'm not a big fan of that smell, but it was still delicious.

This is a tantanmen specialty shop located near Shin-Osaka, in Nishinakajima Minamigata. They are open until late at night, even into the early morning hours. Tantanmen ranges from sweet to extremely spicy. The shop is so popular that there is often a line outside. I visited on a Monday around 1:00 am with three friends. I ordered the black sesame tantanmen, while my friends ordered sweet, regular, and extra spicy. We also had bottled beer and two glasses. One of my friends drank straight from the bottle like a pro. Despite the busy atmosphere, our food arrived in about 10 minutes. Each bowl looked slightly different but had just the right amount of spiciness and richness, with a strong black sesame aroma. The curly noodles and minced meat were plentiful. Visiting three restaurants in one night was a fun experience. Thanks for reading till the end. It was delicious, thank you!

Whenever I visited, there was always a line, so I had to give up due to lack of time. But today, I left a bit earlier determined to finally go! Still, there was a wait for one group ahead of me, about 10 minutes until I could enter. It was my first time having their original flavor Szechuan noodles in a while. The broth is rich but not overpowering, with a deep flavor. It's not very spicy, but you can adjust the heat with condiments like chili flakes, chili oil, and Sichuan pepper. Adding pickled mustard greens enhances the umami, sesame seeds add a fragrant nuttiness, and finishing with lychee vinegar brings out a refreshing sweetness, making it enjoyable until the last bite. The noodles are medium-thick Chinese noodles with a good chewiness. It's a luxurious touch to have two generous portions of Qingcai (Chinese broccoli) as well! This is definitely one of my favorite places where I would want to go again tomorrow!

I tried the Sichuan food stall's Tantanmen (spicy sesame noodle) for 840 yen. I chose the spicy option, but it wasn't very spicy. The noodles were medium thick and curly, which is not commonly used for Tantanmen. There were plenty of condiments like pickled vegetables and chili oil available for free. It was very delicious.

I went to this restaurant around 1:00 pm. There are counter seats and box seats, but the number of seats is not that many, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes as it was full when I arrived. I ordered the spicy tantanmen and half fried rice set. There were plenty of condiments on the table, so I enjoyed changing the taste while eating. The pickled mustard greens were quite salty, and when eaten with the fried rice, the flavor was too strong... (laughs) The noodles were medium thick. Even though it was labeled as spicy, it wasn't that spicy, so I added some chili oil. The set was a good deal, so I would like to go again when I want to eat a hearty meal.

This time, I came to eat at "Szechuan Ramen" located in Nishinakajima Minamigata in Osaka City. The place is just a short walk from Nishinakajima Minamigata Station on the subway.
Order 1: Szechuan Street Stall Tantanmen Spicy 740 yen → It looks spicy, but when you eat it, it has a rich soup with just the right amount of spiciness. You can enjoy a change in taste by adding the lychee vinegar provided.
Szechuan Mapo Rice Half 340 yen → Similar to the Tantanmen, it has a rich flavor and is delicious. I was able to pay using PayPay, so I was satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from Nishinakajima on the Osaka Municipal Subway Midosuji Line. I visited for a solo lunch on a weekday afternoon. There was no line outside, but it seemed to be a popular spot in the area, as it was always full during lunch hours. I was seated at the counter and ordered the Tantanmen Original Flavor Set (Spicy) for 860 yen (tax included) from the lunch menu. I chose the roasted pork bowl out of the three options of half fried rice, roasted pork bowl, and half mapo rice. The dish arrived in about 7 minutes. It was topped with Chinese broccoli and had medium-thick noodles in a flavorful soup. It looked spicy, but the soup had a rich flavor that paired well with the noodles. It was a well-balanced dish. The sweet and savory minced meat added to the deliciousness of the Tantanmen. It was very tasty, including the texture of the minced meat. Thank you for the meal. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Business meal series 138th. Today, I wanted to eat something spicy, so I decided to go to Szechuan Spicy Noodle, which had many reviews nearby. The restaurant is located north of Nanboku Station, a little walk east from Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station in a bustling area. The exterior of the restaurant is somewhat Chinese-style and the interior is the same, with counter and table seats. I visited around 12:30 and there were quite a few customers. There was one male staff member in the hall and one in the kitchen, both working efficiently. I ordered the Spicy Noodle set with extra rice, choosing the Tan Tan original flavor (spicy). The food arrived in about 5-6 minutes. Initially, I was thinking of getting the Mapo Tofu noodles, but I opted for the Tan Tan original flavor set from the lunch menu. The spiciness was just right for the spicy level, but the numbness was a bit lacking, so I added some Sichuan pepper from the table. The noodles were medium thick, with typical toppings for Tan Tan noodles, and the bok choy soaked up the soup nicely, complementing the rice well. Also, the rice refill for the set is free, which I found appealing. I didn't take advantage of it, but it's a nice option. If I have the chance, I would like to try the Mapo Tofu noodles.

On a day off, while commuting through Nishinakajima for work, I suddenly craved something spicy, so I decided to visit "Szechuan Ramen Nishinakajima" for some spicy noodles. Despite being someone who sweats easily, I had the urge to sweat, so I ordered the "Mapo Ramen" with extra spiciness. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes, served with a side of rice and frozen lychee. The rich and flavorful Mapo tofu paired perfectly with the clear soup, creating a stimulating and spicy dish. I carefully mixed the tofu without breaking it, combined it with the chewy thick noodles, and enjoyed the meal with various condiments on the table to adjust the flavor and spice level. My lips were tingling from the spiciness, and I realized once again that I must have a masochistic side. After finishing the rice dive, I savored the flavor of the Mapo rice and enjoyed the frozen lychee. It was my 9th bowl of ramen this year.

I visited a shop recommended by a colleague at work because I suddenly wanted to eat tantanmen. It was before 1 pm, so I was able to get in without waiting. There were counter seats and box seats, and various seasonings were lined up, which was nice because I could customize the taste to my liking. I ordered tantanmen and fried rice. I'm not a fan of spicy food, but the standard level was light and delicious. It might be a bit risky to eat something with a garlic smell before a business meeting though. The portion size was just right. For those with a small appetite, the fried rice might be a bit much, but it's so delicious that I highly recommend finishing it. The lychee included is refreshing and great for freshening up your mouth. There are many people coming from the office district, so even women dining alone will feel comfortable. I definitely want to come back again. (I fell asleep on the train ride back due to being so full and satisfied)

Hello. It's me again. Today, I will be trying the Tan Tan Men Set for 860 yen from here "Having the courage to drill a hole in the wall of a rental property without worrying about the security deposit". It's located a 2-3 minute walk from Nishinakajima and Minamikata. I chose the most popular set here, I think. The soup arrived in about 5 minutes, and it looks quite red, almost dangerous. I thought it would be too spicy for me since it's the Sichuan Strengthening Month, but it's not that spicy. It's a deliciously spicy flavor. The rich soup goes well with the noodles, and the miso paste is just right. I will definitely come back for this. Thank you for the meal.
