I've visited this restaurant about 10 times since it opened, but I have been neglecting to leave reviews, which I deeply regret. It's a great place in Asakura, and my family enjoys it as well. Sometimes I just crave their lava plate grilling out of the blue. The location is convenient for me, just a 15-minute drive away. The parking lot is spacious so I never have to worry about finding a spot. Despite it being Golden Week, there were only two other groups of customers when I visited. I ordered the chicken set meal for 1150 yen and a highball for 450 yen, while my wife ordered the parent chicken thigh for 890 yen and lamb meat for 950 yen, with an additional onion for 210 yen. The food arrived promptly and looked impressive. I enjoy grilling the meat with vegetables and it always turns out delicious. The chicken was tender and tasty, while the lamb had a unique aroma and flavor. I couldn't resist ordering more meat. The highball was going down smoothly. The staff mentioned that there is a big difference in customer numbers between daytime and nighttime, probably due to the location being a tourist spot. Overall, I had a great meal and I hope this restaurant gets more recognition for its delicious food and good value.

The appearance of the shop was a bit old-fashioned. I arrived around 11:30, so it was not a busy time with not many customers. I ordered the weekday service buffet course (all-you-can-eat chicken and young chicken). Rice (barley rice) and drinks (water, green tea, roasted green tea) were self-service. The pickles included pickled daikon radish, pickled Chinese cabbage, and burdock simmered in soy sauce (?). I expected the fat to splatter, so I was given a paper apron and rice. The chicken took some time to cook properly as it needed to be thoroughly cooked, but once it started cooking, it was quite fast. When about half was gone, I got a refill of chicken. The staff asked which type (young chicken or chicken) I wanted, so I chose young chicken. I had about 3 refills and finished around 12:00. From then on, more customers started coming in, so I thought it must be a popular place. My wife and I enjoyed the meal.

(2023.4.20 revisit) I visited after a long time, and there was a notice posted at the entrance. Due to the impact of bird flu, it is difficult to obtain parent chickens... But since I came all the way, I decided to enter, and I noticed that the prices had been raised (laughs). Now, the all-you-can-eat lunch during weekdays costs 1,480 yen per person. I ordered that without hesitation! As mentioned in the notice, the first plate is made with parent chicken, but additional plates will be made with young chicken. In return, they will serve liver as a bonus. It's appreciated! There won't be any more parent chicken after the second plate, but the liver is also good. Be careful as it can pop occasionally. The sauce is good, but the salt and pepper are delicious, probably because the meat is good. The miso soup is also delicious. The aim was one thing, the "Service Buffet Lunch Set" for 1,300 yen! The menu explains, "Buffet with parent and young chicken." The lava plate was already being heated on the stove (laughs). After ordering, I prepared rice, pickles, and cold tea by myself, and the first plate was quickly served. The amount was too much from the second plate onwards (^^♪ At this point, many people gave up on getting more. The lava plate is on the counter near the front, so the meat is on the right side of the stove, and rice, etc., are on the left side. It's a bit hard to eat (^^;) The oil drips onto the counter as it accumulates from cooking, and the oil splatters are intense, so be prepared for that. There isn't much smoke. When grilling the meat, my upper arms touched the lava plate several times and it was hot! There are some tough parts in the chicken, but it's quite satisfying to eat. There is also umami flavor. Personally, I found that salt and pepper go better with the meat than the sauce, and I strongly felt the umami flavor. Also, the miso soup was delicious! It was comparable to what you would get at a seafood izakaya. I asked for a smaller portion of meat for my refill, but it was still quite a lot (^^;) I gratefully finished it all. The place is a bit far from my home, but it's worth driving there. If you're interested, please also enjoy the nearby Sanren Waterwheel together♪

I had all-you-can-eat. It's great for men because you can eat as much meat and rice as you want. The price is cheap, which is really good. Just be careful about getting oil splatters and smells on your clothes, so consider your outfit and plans afterward.

There's a local chicken restaurant in this unexpected place. I was curious about the one in Sanze, but finally made it there. It has a homemade and cozy feel, which I like. I ate quickly, had a drink, and left. It was delicious, even though it definitely wasn't chicken (lol). Thank you for the meal! I wonder if they'll open a shop around here too. Considering the high consumption of rice in the countryside, maybe they'll serve noodles. Hmm...

This is a branch store with its main store located at Sanse Pass in Sawara-ku. Therefore, the soy sauce used here is the "Yamataka Shoyu" from Sawara-ku, which is often featured on TV and favored by a comedian from Fukuoka. The store recently opened, but the exterior and interior look old, like they have been around for decades. They offer a great lunch deal on weekdays, so we ordered two servings of the Three Variety Set Meal (890 yen each) for two people. The meal is cooked on a lava plate placed on a cassette stove. The flat plate causes a lot of oil splatter when cooking. They provide disposable aprons, but it's a good idea to cover your bag or other valuables with plastic. The chopsticks provided are too short, making it difficult to handle the hot oil. It would be more convenient if they offered tongs or longer chopsticks. The Three Variety Set includes young chicken, mature chicken, and seed chicken. Seed chicken refers to chickens raised in free-range conditions for producing fertile eggs. The seed chicken and mature chicken had a good texture and rich flavor, while the young chicken was tender and easy to eat. The set comes with barley rice and pickles, and we added a raw egg for 50 yen. We enjoyed mixing the egg with the rice and soy sauce specially made for it, as well as dipping the grilled chicken in it. Although alcohol was not available due to the state of emergency, they offer a set that would go well with drinks.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy bird dishes using lava plates along National Route 386. The main store is located in Kurafuchi. I visited here for lunch as I was visiting my wife's parents. Since I was alone, I had lunch at the counter. I ordered the stone-grilled lunch set with game birds from the lunch menu. After ordering, I brought rice from the buffet corner to the table. When the rice was brought, the meat and other items arrived at the counter. The side dish of the day was delicious sweet tofu. The meat used 450-day-old game bird thigh meat. Grilling the meat on the lava plate brings out the sweet flavor of the well-marbled chicken fat, making it very delicious. I am in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, with the purpose of having lunch. Today, I really wanted to eat grilled local chicken at this restaurant. Last time, I had grilled lamb at this restaurant, but since it specializes in chicken, I had to try it. Asakura City has quite a few chicken grilling restaurants, and many use the meat of a local brand called "Koshodori" chicken. I'm not sure if this restaurant uses it, but let's give it a try. I visited the restaurant around 11:30 on a Sunday. Inside, I saw a few chicken lovers, and gradually more customers started coming in. I was seated and ordered the "Premium Chicken Stone-Grilled Set" for 1,100 yen including tax. It was made with premium chicken thigh meat aged for 450 days. The menu mentioned that the chicken fat has a sweet taste, so I was looking forward to it. I went to the self-service corner to get barley rice and pickles, and then the staff brought me the meat and miso soup. The meat looked like it came from a mature chicken, with 7 pieces of thigh meat. The dish also included bean sprouts, pumpkin, carrots, and cabbage as grilled vegetables. Unfortunately, there was no onion. The miso soup had no ingredients in it, as confirmed by the photo. The side dish included cold tofu, which allowed me to savor the original taste of soybeans. I drizzled soy sauce over it and finished it in two bites. It was definitely worth trying. Now, let's grill the meat. I have a habit of grilling a little at a time, which is a bit embarrassing. The sauce was a light soy sauce-based sauce without garlic. The meat seemed to be cooked. I dipped it in the sauce and took a bite on top of the rice. The tough meat made my jaw tired, and the sweetness of the fat didn't come through. No matter how much I chewed, swallowing at the right time was difficult. I couldn't help but think that this was not premium chicken, but rather just mature chicken meat. When I saw the thigh meat, I had a feeling it wasn't premium chicken, and the toughness of the meat reminded me of my experience at the original restaurant before I started using Tabelog. The sauce was also quite strong, so eating it quickly was not recommended. I felt like it could cause indigestion. I had to chew slowly to avoid it, but my jaw still got tired. I couldn't even get a refill of rice and ended up leaving 2 pieces of thigh meat uneaten. It was a shame, but unavoidable. This experience helped me understand the level of this restaurant. I will have to think carefully before deciding whether to come back again. As it approached noon, more customers started coming in. Since it's still a new restaurant, it's likely to be busy for a while. *Note: The meat was not from the local Koshodori chicken brand.

It's not a big deal, but a chicken grill restaurant from Fukuoka City's Sawara Ward has opened a new store in Asakura City. I'm not sure if it's a directly operated store or a franchise. I remember eating at the main store in Sawara Ward over 10 years ago. The meat was very tough, and I even had a disagreement with the staff. There's no need to rush to visit the new store just because it opened. You can go when you have free time. I had some free time right away, so I decided to check it out. I want to introduce Fukuoka Prefecture's restaurants and food to my followers. The location is on the national highway in Yamada, Asakura City, where there used to be a udon shop. The shop was damaged in the heavy rain and floods in northern Kyushu a few years ago, so they relocated. I arrived at the store at 11:30 on a weekday, and there were already a few customers inside. I ordered the Lamb Ishiyaki Set Meal for 1300 yen including tax. They told me that rice, pickles, and cold tea were available at the self-service corner, and refills were also allowed. They served barley rice from the insulated jar and a small portion of pickles. The Lamb meat was served on a plate with plenty of cabbage, pumpkin, bean sprouts, and carrots. There was also a side dish of tofu with a strong soy flavor and a miso soup that was tasteless. It was the first time I didn't see any green onions in the soup. I grilled the meat on the lava plate on the gas stove at the table. The plate was convenient as it didn't produce smoke. The lamb meat didn't have the typical smell of sheep meat because it wasn't mutton. The sweet and slightly sour BBQ sauce had a light and mild flavor with hints of apple, onion, ginger, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, and possibly oyster sauce. There was no garlic smell. The slightly grilled lamb meat tasted good with the sauce and barley rice. Even though the meat was a bit tough, it was still enjoyable. I hadn't eaten lamb meat since Asahi Beer Garden in Hakata. Rice is always a good match for meat. At first, I was disappointed with the barley rice, but it surprisingly went well with the meat. I heard most customers ordering the service lunch set of three kinds of meat for 890 yen. The increasing number of customers may be due to the novelty of the restaurant. I need to come back again to try the local chicken.

Under the state of emergency, the lunch situation is the same in urban and rural areas. In the Asakura City area of Ukiha, even though Friday is not a regular holiday, many shops are closed. I crossed the Chikugo River from Ukiha City looking for something to eat, and I found a new restaurant in the place where "Daikokuya Udon" used to operate three years ago (right in front of the Michinoku Waterwheel Road Station). It was a new store with the name "Jidori Shokudo" which sounded familiar, and it turned out to be a new branch of the Jidori Shokudo series in Sawara Ward. The restaurant had just opened on May 20, 2021, and I entered the still fresh interior. The restaurant had around 30 seats including counter and table seats, so I sat at an available table seat. The menu listed various kinds of local chicken and lamb set meals, but there were also menu items marked with an "X" indicating they were not available. I ordered the classic "Jidori Ishiyaki Teishoku" for 1,100 yen. Similar to the Jidori Shokudo in Sawara Ward, this restaurant also served meat and vegetables grilled on a lava plate and eaten with yakiniku sauce. I enjoyed the firm and chewy local chicken meat along with plenty of bean sprouts and vegetables. By the time I finished eating, I was quite satisfied. I noticed another customer ordering the "Daytime Service Buffet Set Meal" for 1,300 yen. Looking at the menu again, I realized there were other affordable weekday lunch options like the "Weekday Lunch Set with 3 Assorted Dishes" for 890 yen. I completely missed them! What a mistake! The service buffet had a substantial volume and seemed even more satisfying. Next time, I will definitely order the weekday lunch. Thank you for the meal. Recommended for those who want to eat hearty chicken yakiniku.
