Sweets that look like real rice balls. The packaging is similar to convenience store rice balls, where you peel off the laminate to reveal the contents. The seaweed part is made of black cocoa crepe, serving as a subtle accompaniment to the cake. There are various flavors available such as sweet potato, strawberry, chocolate, tiramisu, and cheese, all of which are appealing. I chose chestnut and pistachio this time, and the chestnut one was sweet with actual chestnuts inside, providing a nice texture. The pistachio one was refreshing with bits of orange peel-like pieces that balanced out the sweetness. The cream was not overly sweet but rather refreshing and delicious. Both were tasty without focusing solely on appearance, making them great for souvenirs or gifts.

I purchased two strawberry-flavored items for 1,100 yen from a frozen food vending machine located at the north exit of JR Tsuruhashi Station in Nagoya. They also had chocolate and tiramisu flavors available at the same price, but they were sold out. The idea of using thinly black crepe dough to represent seaweed is great. I would like to visit the actual store.

Onigiri cake?! Located in Osaka, Kyobashi. *☼*―――――*☼*―――――. OSAKA OMUSUBI CAKE @omusubi_cake. *☼*―――――*☼*―――――. A takeout-only store located in a shopping street. At first glance, it looks like onigiri! But it's actually a cake, which is a fun concept. The black cocoa crepe is made to look like nori, and inside there is sponge cake and cream. Both the crepe and sponge cake are fluffy and soft, not too sweet. The opening method is like an onigiri, which is fun! The chocolate sandwich comes in a stylish box that looks like cosmetics, but it's chocolate. It would be a delightful gift, making the recipient smile. OMUSUBI CAKE is located at 5-14-1 Higashinoda-cho, Miyakojima-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. #OnigiriCake #SweetsDelivery #Gift #WantToConnectWithPeopleWhoLoveSweets #CooperationInInterviews

On a holiday in early September 2022, my wife and daughter went shopping at Aeon Makuhari Shintoshin and brought back OMUSUBI Cake for us to enjoy. It looks like convenience store onigiri, but it's actually a nice idea! We bought three flavors: chestnut, strawberry, and chocolate, each costing 450 yen. The wrapping looks like seaweed, but it's actually crepe. Since there are three of us, we will share them. The chocolate one is not too sweet, with a sophisticated taste. The chestnut one has a subtle sweetness and a nice Mont Blanc aroma. The strawberry one has a deep flavor with a hint of strawberry acidity. The only downside is the sponge part, which is not moist and feels cheap. This texture may detract from the cake-like experience. While I appreciated the creativity, the price is similar to cakes from a bakery, so I felt a bit unsure about it.

One day, a slightly unusual cake arrived at the house from a group of middle-aged men who travel a few times a year. When I opened the box, I thought, "Hmm, what's this? A rice ball?" But no, it was a cake with the word "cake" printed on it. The cake had a package that looked like a rice ball. The idea was interesting. I ate it as if I were eating a convenience store rice ball, and surprisingly, it was delicious. It was good. I personally like to eat it in two ways: partially thawed and fully thawed. When partially thawed, it's great for hot days, like eating ice cream cake. I really got into it (I pretty much ate it this way). Despite its appearance, it was a proper cake. However... I suddenly thought, "This isn't something an old man would send to another old man" (laughs). I wonder why they chose this. I'll ask them next time we meet, haha. Thank you for the meal.
