Today's bento lunch has been renewed! It seems like nothing has changed, but the name has apparently been updated to "Gicler's Back Pain Relief Bento (moon cry)." I was able to buy the bento without any problems. The daily special bento A is Hoikoro for 500 yen, with the option for extra rice for free and a warm miso soup on the side. Thank you for the delicious meal! Sakura Shokudo in Horiue-cho, Osaka. Phone: 072-220-6027. Address: 158-4 Horiue-cho, Naka-ku, Sakai City, Osaka.

At lunchtime, I often see customers buying bento boxes in front of the store, a bento shop that I had been curious about for a while. I knew it was cheap, but I had a preconception that it wouldn't be good. However, one day, when I saw lunch refugees passing by at lunchtime, I couldn't help but stop by. The bento boxes have a different menu each day, with daily specials and A and B options. There are many meat dishes, but there are also fish days. On this day, among others, there were pork ginger stir-fry bento for 500 yen and menchi-katsu bento for 500 yen. Rice can be served in a large portion for free, and the miso soup comes with plenty of vegetables. The side dishes are homemade and well-seasoned, perfect even for children. Particularly noteworthy is the homemade pickled vegetables in the bento. As I post this, I have become a repeat customer because I am addicted to it. Sakura Shokudo in Horinouchi-cho is run by people with disabilities who handle light work such as cooking assistance, so buying bento here can also contribute to society in a small way. It costs 5 yen for a bag, so if you bring your own eco bag, you can enjoy a homemade bento for a true one-coin price. Thank you for the delicious meal!
