Today I had some business in Sasaoaka area. I came across this place by chance when checking my location for lunch. They offer a seafood bowl for 800 yen on Mondays and Thursdays, but it was discounted to 550 yen. I arrived slightly late for lunch at 11:30, and the counter was already full, so I took a table for four by myself. I read reviews and saw that the squid tempura looked delicious. The daily specials also looked tasty. Today's special was chicken cutlet, mini sashimi, rice, miso soup, salad, pickles, and two side dishes for 750 yen. I decided to order the seafood bowl this time. The food was served on one tray, including the seafood bowl, miso soup, and pickles. The seafood bowl had flounder, squid, salmon, octopus, and salmon roe. The rice was slightly warm. It seems like a local restaurant that is doing well.

Seafood bowl 550 yen (limited to 10 servings on Mondays and Thursdays)
I was expecting a cheap and mediocre bowl due to the low price, but it turned out to be quite luxurious. The bowl was filled with Thai snapper, Thai sesame, tuna, yellowtail, salmon, salmon roe, squid, and more. Now, how does it taste?
Delicious! Especially the freshness of the Thai snapper and the flavor of the tuna were exceptional. Also, the gentle miso soup was exactly to my liking. I was completely satisfied and finished every last bit.
~Summary~
Despite the restrictions on days and quantity, I felt it was top-notch in terms of cost performance. Since they serve alcohol from lunchtime, I plan to enjoy tempura and sashimi with a drink next time. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I was in the mood for tempura and was on my way to my usual tempura restaurant when I suddenly decided to change plans and visit this place that caught my eye. The sign in front of the restaurant said that Tuesdays and Thursdays are seafood bowl days - the usual 850 yen seafood bowl is only 550 yen. What a wonderful coincidence! Today is Thursday, so let's go for it! When I walked in, almost everyone was ordering the seafood bowl. It didn't take long for my seafood bowl and squid tempura set to arrive. Although I couldn't shake off my tempura craving, the seafood bowl came with pickles and miso soup, while the set came with pickles, two side dishes, salad, and miso soup, both served with miso soup made from fish broth. This was really great value for money. The squid tempura may not be as good as at a proper tempura restaurant, but it was freshly fried and quite tasty. The seafood in the bowl may not have been the freshest, but for 550 yen, it was more than enough. They also have tempura days, so if you take advantage of their special days, you can enjoy a high-value lunch at this restaurant!

The restaurant has a counter and tatami seating, as well as tables, making it suitable for small children to adults. What surprised me was the freshness of the fish, and the prices were very reasonable. This dish only costs 850 yen. Additionally, on Mondays and Thursdays, there is a limited offer of 10 bowls for only 550 yen. They sell out quickly once it starts. The set meals are also reasonably priced and delicious, allowing you to leave feeling satisfied. Whether you go or not is up to you.

While driving, I saw a sign for tempura and felt like eating it. It seemed to be a tempura specialty izakaya. The location is along the Hii River in Yushintei, Jonan-ku, Fukuoka City. The restaurant was not crowded, and I ordered a seafood bowl for 800 yen. The fish was fresh and delicious, and the portion was satisfying. The miso soup even had sea bream scraps in it, which was a nice surprise. When I paid, they mistakenly gave me too much change due to it being a special seafood bowl day. It was a great dining experience, and I wish there was a similar restaurant near my home.

(April 14, 2022) While I understand that mastering the extensive bus routes of Nishitetsu Bus, which is known as the "bus kingdom" in Fukuoka City with its few subway, private railway, and JR lines, would be beneficial, it is impossible to grasp all of them... I have been relying heavily on Google Maps' navigation system. One place I visited using this system is "Kappado," located on the first floor of a building at the north end of Nagao Shinbashi intersection along Aburayama Kanko Road... The entrance is not facing the street, so it may be a bit hard to find, but if you look down the narrow road along the river, you will see a sign that says "Seasonal Fresh Tempura." Inside the restaurant, there are counter seats and a raised tatami area with tables where you can sit on chairs... It may feel a bit mismatched, but it is convenient for elderly people with knee problems. The dish I had was the "Seafood Bowl," topped with tuna, amberjack, salmon, sea bass, spear squid, and even plenty of salmon roe, all arranged so densely that you can't see the rice underneath. Each piece of topping is substantial and impressive. The regular price of 800 yen is surprising in itself, but on Mondays and Thursdays, you can get it for only 500 yen. It's limited to 10 servings, but this is practically a cost price service.

One Coin Seafood Bowl at Kappado (Fukuoka City, Jonan Ward, Tomizumitei) I visited Kappado on March 15, 2022 (Tuesday). I heard that there is a great deal on a seafood bowl at a restaurant along the Hii River, which flows between YAMADA Denki and UNIQLO on the Oyama Kanko Road. It is limited to 10 servings on Mondays and Thursdays, for only 500 yen including tax. I arrived at 11:30 am, and there were already 6-7 customers ahead of me, but luckily I managed to get one of the 10 limited servings. The seafood bowl includes a variety of 6 out of 8 types of sashimi. Can you believe such a luxurious content for only 500 yen including tax? This is their regular menu. The daily special on this day was ham cutlet and a mini sashimi assortment. Here is the One Coin Seafood Bowl for 500 yen (including tax). It comes with miso soup and pickles. The miso soup has fish head in it, giving it a rich and delicious flavor. The volume of sashimi in the seafood bowl for only 500 yen including tax is unbelievable, with about 8 types and 15 slices of sashimi. It is nicely presented with quail eggs. The fresh and fatty sashimi is delicious. It was a very satisfying seafood bowl for just one coin. Kappado, 2-5 Tomizumitei, Jonan Ward, Fukuoka City. Closed on Sundays (open on public holidays).

I've been interested in a certain izakaya in Jonan-ku for a while now, but recently, due to the impact of the coronavirus, they seem to mainly focus on lunchtime operations. I visited in search of an aji fry set meal, but on that day, they were offering a seafood bowl for a special price of only 500 yen. I decided to try the seafood bowl and also learned that they do a lot of takeout orders. So, I also ordered a takeout item for a one-coin price. Before long, the seafood bowl arrived with ikura, spear squid, and tuna, among other things. I enjoyed it as is at first, and then poured some wasabi soy sauce over it and savored it. The deliciousness of this seafood bowl for only 500 yen was truly satisfying. The portion of rice was just right, perhaps catered more towards women? Thank you for the delicious meal! As for the takeout item I ordered, the anago tempura bowl included one whole eel, along with vegetables like eggplant, pumpkin, and onion, all for a one-coin price. It seems that when the eel runs out, another menu item becomes available for one coin, so it's worth confirming.

Located across from Uniqlo along the Oil Mountain Tourist Road in Jonan-ku. The restaurant does not face the Oil Mountain Tourist Road and the front of the shop is a one-way street, so be careful. I stopped by when I went to the nearby Yamada Denki store. The restaurant has a counter and a raised seating area. The lunch menu includes daily specials, fried horse mackerel, and tempura set meals. On Mondays and Thursdays, you can enjoy a seafood bowl for only 500 yen (*´∀`). I was lucky to visit on a Thursday, so I had to try the seafood bowl! It came with miso soup and pickles. The bowl was filled with salmon, squid, yellowtail, tuna, salmon roe, and quail eggs. The white fish was delicious, and when I asked, I found out it was fish collar. The rice had nori seaweed on top and the portion size was satisfying. The only downside was that I prefer my rice a bit firmer. The miso soup even had salmon in it. Unfortunately, smoking is allowed in the restaurant, so I quickly finished my meal and left. I would love to try the sea urchin from Koro Island next time. Thank you for the meal.

I go there occasionally! The lunch is cheap, only one coin! It's a shame there's no parking lot, but it's great for a quick lunch!

Night drinking at Kappado (Fukuoka City Jounan Ward) on August 4, 2018 (Saturday). I went to Kappado. This place is located near Nagao Shinbashi on the Hii River on the Yuyama Tourist Road. The photo shows the Yuyama Tourist Road in front and the Hii River on the right side. First, I spread out the drink menu and ordered a draft beer for 480 yen. The draft beer arrived in a frozen glass, which felt especially delicious on a hot day like this. Oh? It seems like they also serve lunch. I'll have to try it next time. While looking at the main menu, the owner said, "Due to supply reasons, there are some items not available. Please check the blackboard menu." Now, what should I eat? The first thing I ordered was sesame sashimi. Hmm, it would be nice if it was on a slightly larger plate and presented a bit more flashy! For example, a 500 yen dish can sometimes look like it's worth 1000 yen or even 300 yen. Which do you think is better, a woman with makeup or without makeup? The tempura is reasonably priced, with a generous portion and tastes great. The accompanying condiments are slightly pink salt and grated ginger. The fried horse mackerel is also delicious. The flesh is fluffy and the bones are crispy. Finally, I finished with nori tea rice for 300 yen. It was a satisfying night of drinking. Kappado, 2-5 Yūsentei, Jounan Ward, Fukuoka City. Closed on Thursdays.

I heard a review from a female customer and decided to visit right away! They are really working hard to offer meals for just one coin outside of chain restaurants, right? The daily special set meal for 500 yen is not your typical cafeteria food, it's a proper Japanese restaurant! Tempura Shunsen "Kappado" is a hidden gem that hasn't been featured in the media yet. I'll tell you now, once it gets some exposure, it will become a popular spot quickly. The interior has a counter, a raised seating area, and tables in the back. On the table, there's nikujaga (meat and potato stew), squid salted innards, and pickled greens, all with just the right amount of seasoning. Today's special was a simmered fish set meal for 500 yen, and it was huge! The flavor was great too. The marinated yellowtail was delicious as well. The tempura set meal for 680 yen was freshly fried, with oysters, shrimp, eggplant, sillago, white fish, bell pepper, and pumpkin. The menu offers a wide variety of fish at a reasonable price. The taste, skill, and customer service are all excellent, so I believe the potential of this place really shines at night. Lunch is recommended, but definitely consider going for dinner as well! *The parking lot is located quite a distance from the restaurant and it's a one-way street, so I recommend referring to the parking lot photo before heading there.
