Today, I had to work in Taisho Ward... After finishing a job, it was almost 2 pm for lunch. Whenever I come to Taisho Ward, I crave for something to eat. That something is fried chicken. In the southern part of Taisho Ward, there are several shops that serve generous fried chicken bento boxes. Today, I went on a fried chicken bento patrol and visited Kazuben. I entered the shop around 2 pm. A male staff member (possibly the owner) greeted me. Various bento boxes are displayed inside the shop, but fried chicken bento is the only choice for me. Excuse me, one fried chicken bento, please. The male staff member (owner?) informed me that the extra rice was free, so I opted for extra rice. There was complimentary coffee service in the shop, but I decided to pass this time. After waiting for about 6 minutes... Here you go! I quickly got into my work vehicle and found a nice spot to enjoy my bento. Now, let's dig into the fried chicken... The fried chicken has a pale color, quite light in its frying. It's rather large in size, fitting for the fierce competition of fried chicken in Taisho. As I take a big bite, I taste the crispy, slightly oily coating and juicy thigh meat. The seasoning is subtly flavored with a hint of ginger and mild saltiness. The small packet of salt has its purpose. The rice is cooked just right, slightly firm. The rolled omelette is soft and bouncy. The simmered vegetables bring back nostalgic flavors. I ate heartily and finished it all! Next time I'm in Taisho, I'll definitely have fried chicken again. This is a bento shop located on the northwest corner of the Ooihashi intersection on Taisho Street. It opened in May 2015 and will celebrate its 5th anniversary this month. Due to the increased demand caused by the new coronavirus, delivery and takeout services have become popular. While many other bento shops only offer takeaway, Kazuben also offers free delivery, making it convenient for elderly and disabled customers who may have difficulty going out. My wife and I visited the shop in person and ordered takeout. Inside the shop, there are cooler boxes for delivery and bento containers ready in the glass case. There is also complimentary self-service coffee available at the order counter, and 500ml bottles of tea are sold for 100 yen each. There are about 30 types of bento boxes available, ranging from a 400 yen nori bento to an 880 yen Kazu bento. We ordered a fried chicken bento with extra rice and a grilled fish bento. The bento boxes were accompanied by a complimentary mask each, and the fried chicken was hot and delicious. The grilled fish bento was also satisfying with a generous portion of salted mackerel. Overall, the cost performance was reasonable, although it may be slightly higher compared to other nearby bento shops. The shop's location near a busy intersection may make parking a bit challenging, but pre-ordering by phone can ensure a quick and convenient takeaway experience. Enjoy your meal!

I used their service again. Lately, I've been ordering delivery. The delivery fee is free! The yakiniku bento is delicious, but the portions are a bit small. However, it might be standard for bento boxes. The katsudon comes with a separate container for the dashi, egg, etc. It's a nice touch for those who like their batter crispy. I personally like it, but it's quite saucy. I will definitely order from them again.

It's average, not bad. I use it quite often. Delivery is also free!
