I don't go to cafes often because I'm not a fan of coffee (it triggers my migraines), but on this day, I was craving pancakes so badly!!! After work, I decided to stop by a cafe called "Hoshino Coffee," located in the basement of Abeno HOOP, right outside Abeno Abashiri Station, which is directly connected to Tennoji Station. Hoshino Coffee originated in Tokyo but seems to be inspired by Nagoya-style Komeda! I've heard people say that, but it's actually quite different from Komeda! (Sorry) It's elegant. The ambiance is sophisticated and the staff are dressed in a chic and formal manner. Both men and women wear waiter-style white shirts, black pants, bow ties, and black vests. It's cool because most cafes these days are more casual! The spacious tables and overall atmosphere are nice too. I ordered the following: Hoshino Spaghetti (Hearty Soy Butter) for 930 yen, Baked Souffle Pancakes (Double) for 780 yen, and Fruit Tea for 750 yen. If you order a meal set, it's 630 yen! The pancakes take 20 minutes to cook, so while waiting, I enjoyed the spaghetti. I was glad to see that they also offered tea, not just coffee. The spaghetti was a Japanese-style dish with eggplant, tomato, bacon, greens, onions, mushrooms, and more. It was truly loaded with ingredients and delicious. The presentation was also nice with Richard Ginori-style white oval dishes. Finally, the highlight of the meal was the pancakes! They were so thick and came in two layers! My excitement level went up! You can choose from three syrups: maple syrup, honey, or brown sugar syrup. I chose maple syrup and poured it generously over the pancakes. Ah, the fluffy texture and sweetness. This is the true essence of pancakes!!! While I started craving milk, the fruit tea in a pot was a nice touch. It was a delightful meal. When I crave pancakes next time, I'll definitely head straight to Hoshino Coffee.
