The store is called "Daimaru Umeda Store". It's not "Umeda Ten". The word "store" comes from the term "mise" which originated from the "miseya" during the end of the Kamakura period. Although it may seem insignificant, I feel a sense of pride in Daimaru's long-standing history, which is why I like it. As for Masakiya, they usually use the store at Namba's Takashimaya, but this time it's their first time here. I bought various things and was planning to enjoy some drinks, but as a lover of chicken meat, I couldn't resist buying some here. I already have enough for dinner. What I bought at Masakiya: - Miyazaki-style grilled chicken - Two pieces of thigh and green onion skewers - Two pieces of shiitake mushroom and ginkgo skewers The grilled chicken was firm and delicious. The thigh and green onion skewers are perfect for accompanying drinks. The shiitake mushroom and ginkgo skewers, although limited this season, were so delicious that I will definitely buy them again if they are still available next time. Masakiya offers consistently delicious food.

I peeked into a bento shop at Daimaru in Umeda and decided to buy something to take home. I ended up getting a delicious bento with chicken soboro, yakitori, and chicken rice onigiri. The yakitori onigiri was especially tasty and reasonably priced. The appearance was good and it had a decent portion size. I might come back again!

There is a yakitori restaurant in Umeda Daimaru. If you go around 5:30 pm, you can get a 100 yen discount on bento boxes. I purchased the Teriyaki Bento for 756 yen (tax included). The flavor was rich and incredibly delicious. The teriyaki grilled chicken was generously included, providing a satisfying meal.

I came to Daimaru Umeda store to get lunch from the basement. I prefer coming here when I want to take my time choosing, as it's calmer than Hankyu Department Store. This time, I felt like having their yakitori bowl which I haven't had in a while. The yakitori bowl was delicious with a salt flavor, even though last time I said I would try the sauce next time. You can't tell by looking, but there's actually quite a lot of rice. I also had a tulip (a type of dessert) which I warmed up in the microwave. It was firm and tasty, and it came with lemon juice and salt. The total for both items was around 750 yen, and I left feeling full. Thank you for the meal!

Today I'm taking it easy, so I'll pick up dinner at the department store basement! My favorite on such days is the yakitori bowl from Masakiya. Three freshly grilled yakitori skewers with a delicious sauce are served on top of a bowl. I pour the accompanying sauce over it for extra flavor! The charcoal-grilled yakitori and sweet and savory sauce go perfectly with the rice. The bowl also includes chicken thigh meat and tsukune for a fun texture. The pickled vegetables, especially the pickled shallots, are a nice touch for me. The portion of rice is quite generous. All this for 626 yen including tax, making it a standout in the department store bento department. By the way, this bowl also comes in a salt flavor, but I recommend the sauce flavor.

They use Ise Akadori chicken raised in Mie Prefecture for 75 days without medication. A friend recommended the yakitori don, so I got it to go. They also said the fried chicken was delicious, but I decided not to get it this time. The yakitori don comes with a choice of salt or sauce, and I chose salt. The chicken had a firm texture and was packed with flavor, making it delicious even with just salt. The charcoal-grilled flavor was especially tasty. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were particularly delicious. However, there was a lot of rice and no sauce left over (which is expected when choosing salt). I recommend getting the sauce with the don.

When it comes to watching baseball at Koshien Stadium, beer is definitely best enjoyed with yakitori. However, the jumbo yakitori at Koshien Stadium can get boring, and it's obvious that they are frozen and possibly not even made with domestic ingredients. So, in search of some tasty yakitori, I decided to buy some from a familiar place - the Daimaru Umeda store. I purchased some limited edition items as well and headed to the stadium. The Haruna chicken roll was light and delicious, but lacked the impact of Haruna. As for chicken thigh, it's the ultimate choice for yakitori with its texture, flavor, and sweetness. As for tsukune, I love it, especially when it's made with crushed cartilage, offering a deep and rich flavor. The liver, on the other hand, can vary greatly in quality depending on freshness, but this one was excellent and delicious. Although they didn't have my favorite cartilage available when I went right after they opened, the yakitori shops at Umeda department stores rarely disappoint, and it's great that you can choose the specific parts you want. It feels good to buy and enjoy their yakitori. Thank you for the meal.

Now, I have come to the basement of Daimaru to look for some side dishes. I noticed there was a place called Seikichaya, where I wanted to try their yakitori and soboro rice, but I didn't have the chance. I decided to go for the fried chicken, starting at 259 yen including tax but with a 20 yen discount, it came down to 237 yen. I know that even chicken breast can taste delicious when cooked well. I enjoyed it with just a hint of salt, no need for any extra condiments. It was crispy even when cold, which made it even more delicious. Next time, I want to try the yakitori at the shop. Thank you for the meal! September 2015. Nankaihawks1's gourmet guide. Nankaihawks1's blog.

I had some business to attend to at my parents' house and stopped by a shop I found in Osaka. While wandering around Umeda, I came across a Daimaru department store and went inside. I bought some sushi with rice and fish for 129 yen each (tax included). The portions were quite generous. The sauce had a unique taste, maybe it was soy sauce-based?

I visited the Daimaru Umeda department store after a long time, and was drawn to the famous yakitori shop, Masakiya. They are known for their yakitori as well as other dishes like kushikatsu, and are popular for their izakaya-style offerings in addition to their deli items in department stores around Osaka. I found some appetizing side dishes that looked perfect for a bento box, and decided to purchase them. (Prices include tax)
- Japanese-style fried chicken (100g for 291 yen): "Domestically sourced chicken thigh marinated in Japanese-style dashi, crispy and juicy." I bought 200g this time, which contained 7-8 pieces. The thin, crispy and fragrant coating looked just like the picture. The seasoning is not heavy with garlic or ginger, but rather a refined soy sauce flavor that brings out the natural umami of the chicken thigh. The taste is gentle and addictive. I couldn't stop nibbling on this delicious fried chicken. They also provided small packets of lemon and seasoned salt, which added a refreshing and slightly salty kick to the dish.
- Sesame-flavored fried chicken wings (100g for 291 yen): "Domestically sourced chicken wings fried in sesame flavor and finished with a slightly spicy kick." This pack contained 5 thin chicken wings in 100g. The sesame flavor was fragrant, and the crispy coating with sweet and savory sauce was delicious. The addition of dried chili pepper skin gave it a slightly spicy kick. The chicken itself was flavorful and delicious. The seasoning of the side dishes was great, but the deliciousness of the chicken itself left a strong impression, so I would like to try their yakitori next time! They also offer hot and juicy fried chicken and yakitori for eating in, which I would love to try with a beer. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

It's after 20:30. I bought one thigh marinated in sauce, two salted chicken tenderloins, and one salted chicken skin. They were each discounted by 20 yen before closing. They kindly separate the items in different bags, which is convenient. I appreciate that they include sauce, lemon juice, and Hakata salt. The thigh marinated in sauce and the salted chicken skin were flavorful with a charcoal aroma and delicious. The chicken tenderloins had a good texture, although some parts still had cartilage. Thank you for the meal.

The "Seikoya" store has been a favorite of mine since I was a child, as my mother used to buy their delicious bento boxes for me. The bento boxes usually contained minced chicken, egg, and fried chicken pieces as side dishes. Although a bit oily, I always found them to be very tasty. Recently, I decided to try their entry for the Donburi W Grand Prix. The fried chicken was as delicious as always, with rice topped with crispy nori and yakitori sauce. The yakitori had a nice charcoal flavor, and the green onions added a fragrant touch. I didn't have a 100 yen discount coupon this time, so the total cost was 702 yen. When I picked up the last one, the staff brought out a freshly made one and kindly exchanged it for me. It's these little gestures that make me happy.

I didn't feel like cooking so I got takeout. Even though it was 3:00 pm, there was still a line. I got a salt-grilled chicken bowl and my husband got 3 skewers a la carte. They also had a special deal on chicken thigh teriyaki the next day so I got that too. They packed everything separately in paper bags and even included extra sauce. It was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal!

On my way back from Nishinomiya on July 24, 2022, I stopped by Daimaru Umeda Store and checked out. I bought a chicken bento from Masakiya to take home. There were some items discounted by 100 yen due to their short expiration date, so I naturally chose one of those! The chicken minced meat and boiled egg look beautiful. The bento includes teriyaki, deep-fried shiso-wrapped chicken, and fried chicken. The vinegar lotus root adds a refreshing touch. It's a perfectly balanced bento. Even though I usually don't eat rice at night, I couldn't resist trying the minced meat rice. It's the best! Thank you for the delicious meal.

Fuyu-sama kindly invited commoners to her family's restaurant, offering a la carte instead of a course meal to consider the burden on those with children. The main dish featured was roast chicken, along with options like meat pasta, bread, fish poêlé, and a salad with ham and eggs. While this may not be considered a high-end dinner, it seemed more like a café restaurant at a hotel. The description of the dishes was a bit unclear, but the roast chicken appeared boneless in the story, while the recipe showed it with bones. I couldn't find a specific match for the lightly seasoned roast chicken in Hankyu or Hanshin, so I ended up buying a salt-grilled one from Daimaru. Later, I found a roast chicken that seemed suitable for this occasion. Both were delicious! Bone-in thigh charcoal-grilled (salt-grilled).

Yakitori takeout at Hitotsubashi Marunouchi is a hit. You can see them grilling the skewers in the back. I had to wait a bit to order because everything looked delicious. I was curious about the rumored bento box as well. I got negima, tsukune, momo, kawa, kimo, umeshiso sasami, yagen nankotsu, and something else (haha). I bought about 10 skewers for around 1800 yen and they even gave me sauce. I reheated them at home and they were delicious. I'm interested in trying the bento box next time! I paid with Merpay. Thank you for the meal!

I went to "Shokichiya" to look for chicken liver at the department store basement for the first time. The store was quite busy, with around 10 people in line the whole time I was there. The staff were very kind and friendly while serving customers. As it is a chain store, I thought they must have products that capture everyone's hearts. I am not particularly fond of chicken meat, and I don't like liver either, but I am trying to eat it as I suffer from anemia. The grilled chicken liver I took out was delicious with a charcoal-grilled flavor. I recommend it! Thank you for the meal. I will visit again!

I went on a Friday evening and there was a huge line. It took about 30 minutes to get to the cashier with around 15 people in line. I tried the thigh, skin, meatball, tail, and black pepper chicken wings, and the thigh and meatball were delicious. They were grilled over charcoal so they stayed juicy even when reheated.

I bought a Yakitori bowl for 626 yen (tax included) and Tsukune for 280 yen (tax included). The Tsukune had lotus root in it, which added a nice texture. The Yakitori bowl was also delicious.
