So, I went to the 551 store at Shin-Osaka Station, which specialized in chilled products. I bought chilled pork buns and took them back to Nagoya on the Shinkansen. The next morning, I steamed the pork buns in a frying pan and had them for breakfast. The taste was good, but the texture of the dough was different from when I ate it fresh at the store. I realized that maybe the taste is better when you eat the freshly steamed pork buns right at the store. If my wife wants it again, I will try getting the freshly steamed ones next time.

When I went on a business trip to Osaka before the pandemic, there was usually a long line, but this time I was able to buy it relatively easily. However, I was a bit tipsy, so my speech might have been a bit off. I asked the male staff for "nikuman and shumai," and he said, "Two of each?" and started to pack two nikuman and two shumai. I hurried to correct him, and he seemed annoyed as he packed the items into the bag. He also threw in some mustard. It was really unpleasant. Now, the battle against the smell begins. Since I was already drunk, I didn't care much, but it really smelled. I put the items in my large backpack, but the smell still seeped through. Each one has a different flavor depending on the filling. The quality of these products, which are mass-produced, is amazing. The Shinkansen station store, which is usually crowded, was completely empty.
