2023 has started! Are you planning to visit the usual restaurants? I regularly visit a restaurant called "Osake to Wasai Izuru," which is featured on Tabelog. Located in Kitashinchi, known for its many delicious restaurants, this place offers exquisite dishes at a reasonable price. This time, I decided to repeat the delicious dishes I had last time: - Spare Rib Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork: 1000 yen - Beef Sukiyaki Spring Rolls: 1200 yen - Simmered Daikon Radish with Grated Kombu: 500 yen These three dishes are unique selections and are absolutely delicious, so make sure to try them! The Beef Sukiyaki Spring Rolls, which I had last time, have improved in appearance, with the egg topping making it even more delicious. The Spare Rib Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork features tender spare ribs cut into easy-to-eat sizes, served with a slightly intense black vinegar that pairs well with alcohol. The appetizers, such as the chicken wings that are so tender you can suck the marrow out of the bones, set high expectations for the meal. The restaurant is truly promising from the moment you try the appetizers. I highly recommend these dishes. Other dishes I tried included: - Natural Yellowtail Rare Cutlet with Grated Daikon and Ponzu Sauce: 1400 yen - Cod Milt with Fresh Seaweed Sauce: 1600 yen - Japanese Beef Tendon Daikon Radish Oden with Grated Kombu: 1000 yen - Thick-cut Bacon and Onsen Salad: 900 yen x 2 - Sashimi Assortment: Price not specified The sashimi assortment, including Sawara, Aori Ika, Maguro, Kinmedai, was as delicious as always. The Rare Yellowtail Cutlet was a new experience with yellowtail instead of tuna, and it was perfectly fried to a mild level of fattiness. The beef tendon daikon radish was incredibly tender, as expected from the other meat dishes. The cod milt with seaweed sauce was an interesting combination that surprisingly harmonized well. For drinks, I had bottled beer, draft beer, highball, and I tried the recommended sake, Shinsei, which was a fresh junmai sake for the new year. It had a slight acidity typical of Shinsei sake, making it easy to drink. I had about 3 servings of Shinsei and other drinks. The total bill for three people was 24,000 yen, which is reasonable for the quality and amount of food and drinks we enjoyed. The way they served each dish in individual portions for sharing among three of us was a nice touch. With a wide variety of menu options, I plan to continue ordering a mix of classic and new dishes a la carte style for a while. For first-time visitors, I recommend trying the course menu!
