I visited during a short opening time. There was a lot of whiskey, especially discontinued ones that were easy to drink. It seems like the place just opened, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops. Personally, I was happy to be able to drink my favorite discontinued Johnny Walker.

A casual bar has opened on Ikebukuro Higashi Street. It seems to be the Kyoto main branch, around the tenth store. The catchphrase is "Over 400 types of alcohol from around the world! No cover charge!! Starting from 500 yen." The sign is not deceiving. This time, I had beer and highball, and they were well-made. There are almost no snacks, it's more like a bar to enjoy drinks, or maybe a more casual standing bar. It's good for when you feel a bit unsatisfied drinking in Ikebukuro. Higashi Street is still lively! Before visiting this place, I went to "Sanbei Saketen," a famous Senbero shop in Ikebukuro North Exit, and was shocked by the difference in atmosphere. I wonder if customers only come to places that are as stylish as this one. It's a tough world.

Hanging out with a close friend, we went to a third bar in Ikebukuro. This place has become a must-visit whenever we're in the area. At the Art of Alcohol Ikebukuro, we had been drinking for a long time and my friend ordered a variety of highballs. I was too full from all the drinking to eat the charming sweet potato chips. I was moderately drunk and left all the ordering to my friend, wondering now if I even noticed the different flavors of the drinks. The cute (uniquely beautiful) staff members' smiles were comforting, and we had a great time. We'll definitely come back again.

Met up with a dear friend for our fourth round of bar hopping. We were supposed to be drinking in Ueno, but somehow ended up in Ikebukuro (laughs). We were at the Sake Museum in Ikebukuro, our bellies full and feeling quite tipsy, we couldn't eat the charm we had ordered. Looking at the photos, it seems we each had two drinks again. I don't remember the types of brandy we had, but I'm pretty sure I chose them myself. My friend probably had his usual highball. Luckily, I found the umbrella I had lost. Thank you so much. "Toyo Bunko Museum -> Drinking, gifts, and lost items." On my recent day off, I left home a little after 8 am and headed to the Toyo Bunko Museum. It was my second visit, but it seems to have become a favorite spot for my friend. I'll definitely visit again. ☺︎

A day out with my cherished friend, third stop on our bar hopping adventure. The Sake Museum in Ikebukuro offers a variety of world-class drinks at affordable prices. They have a wide selection of rare old bottles, creating a scenery that resembles an "art museum of alcohol." Enjoy a smooth highball or a popular cocktail for a unique drinking experience at reasonable prices. I was too full and tipsy to try the charms that were offered. I only remember having two drinks each. I don't recall the types of brandy we had. I kept saying "that staff member is cute!" and apparently even asked their age. I later met up with my friend and we reminisced about how delicious it was and how we want to go back. It was truly a wonderful restaurant.

Charging 800 yen for a highball and 500 yen for table charge at a standing bar seems excessive.

I thought it was a chain store, but they have a wide variety of whiskies, and they explained and recommended today's highball with a focus on taste and aroma. The store has a counter and a few tables to sit at, and it's a bit dimly lit, but you can easily enjoy authentic drinks. Recommended!

This is a bar where you choose your whiskey carefully. It's not your typical bar. The interior is stripped down to the basics, with bright lighting that lacks atmosphere. In other words, it's not a place to pick up girls. It's a place for whiskey lovers to enjoy their drink. They have a wide selection of whiskeys, and the prices are surprisingly low. You may not remember the taste of a whiskey you haven't had in over 10 years, so even if they switch the bottles, you probably wouldn't notice. But for 500 yen a shot, it's all about having a good time. You can even order the same whiskey from different eras and compare them side by side. This place is based in Kyoto and run by a liquor store, which makes you wonder how they can keep the prices so low. It's a unique spot to enjoy whiskey.

No charge for refills. Good cost performance and delicious. Just right for having 1.2 cups.

I was served a bad whiskey. The staff seemed to lack knowledge and were not providing good customer service. Also, it was a standing bar.
