On a day that's too cold, there's nothing like hot pot at Naniwa Ichiban. It's a chanko-nabe (sumo wrestler hot pot) restaurant, but first, the location! Haha, you probably haven't eaten around this area before. It's in a cool building, up to the 3rd floor, with a curtain that reminds you of sumo wrestlers. There were papers with handprints of various sumo wrestlers, fitting for a chanko-nabe restaurant. There are two types of hot pot to choose from! The three old guys went for the light version called Kinsei-nabe (2980 yen per person). You can probably guess. The volume of food is simply outrageous! Shrimp, clams, meat, a paradise of ingredients. With tsukune and tsumire added in, it's just... unbeatable. The landlady made it in front of us! The light broth combined with seafood broth creates a rich yet easy-to-drink flavor, the ultimate deliciousness! Finally, you can choose udon or ramen for the finishing touch! The volume was so overwhelming that I felt like I was being power-harassed at the end, but it was my own fault. It was so delicious!!! By the way, I gained 2 kilograms that day. Of course, the hot pot was incredibly satisfying, but the recommended point is the unique drink service. The highball for 390 yen is decent, but the style of serving a bottle of carbonated water was just hilarious. Haha, it's nice that you can easily order it! It seems to be quite busy during normal times, but there were fewer people this time. Personally, I feel that due to the location and the volume of food, it's better to go with around 4 people rather than 2! The restaurant is spacious and surprisingly calm, not what you'd expect in Shinsaibashi, so you can relax and enjoy your meal. Now, whether you go or not is up to you! Highly recommended! Please go and check it out!

This is "Naniwa Ichiban," famous for its chanko nabe, just a 1-minute walk from Namba Station. Today (2/15/2019), I visited the restaurant to try their delicious chanko nabe for the first time. The chanko nabe here at "Naniwa Ichiban" is known for its fresh ingredients, often visited by sumo wrestlers. The serving of the hot pot is impressive and mountainous. The owner graciously teaches you how to enjoy the meal. At first, I was surprised by the generous portion, but with a variety of vegetables, seafood, and meatballs, I was able to enjoy it almost to the last bite. Thank you for the incredibly delicious and serious chanko nabe. It was an amazing experience! Thank you very much! Thank you very much! Thank you very much! Restaurant Information: Address: Naniwa 1-8-19, Namba, Chuo-ku, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture Phone number: 0120-952-728 Business hours: 5:00 PM - 12:00 AM Regular holiday: None, open 365 days a year (closed on 12/31 and New Year's Day)

Today, I had a New Year's party with my usual group of friends. It had been a while since we went out in Minami for drinks, so we decided to have hot pot. We visited a chanko nabe restaurant called "Naniwa Ichiban." Lately, there have been more foreign staff in Osaka, and this restaurant also had a Thai girl working as a kitchen assistant. It was inspiring to see her work so hard. We chose the Kinsei Nabe course, which included chanko nabe, sashimi, and fried foods with all-you-can-drink option for 5,000 yen. We started by making tsukune meatballs and simmering them with vegetables. The clams, prawns, and other ingredients added great flavor to the broth. We enjoyed the hot pot with some cold Kamoizuru sake. It was delicious! We also tried adding mochi at the end, which was a tasty addition. Even though we might have eaten a bit too much, we finished off with noodles to complete the meal. It was satisfying, but I think I'll have to start dieting tomorrow!

Two women ordered the "Venus hot pot" for two people. We had clams, shrimp, fish slices, and one piece of mochi each, with lots of vegetables. If you want to eat a lot of vegetables, the best choice would be the hot pot. However, the portion was too big and we couldn't even get to the udon noodles. The soup was average.

Great cost performance! This is definitely a rare find in the city. The quality of the ingredients and the variety of drinks for the all-you-can-drink option are both excellent. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

An inexpensive and delicious chanko nabe restaurant!! The soup is rich and flavorful. It has become my favorite place because of its reasonable prices. I want to try the spicy soup next time (^-^)

The chanko hot pot had a huge volume, but it was delicious and I could eat as much as I wanted. The restaurant allows smoking. It was crowded around 9 o'clock, very lively atmosphere.

This is a restaurant in Namba where you can eat chanko-nabe. The restaurant is run by a friendly lady, and the chanko-nabe pot is huge! It was my first time trying chanko-nabe, and it was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and I felt like I could eat slowly and enjoy the meal. There were many signed photos displayed inside, including one of a soccer player who visited a few years ago. I had a beer and a few highballs, and the total cost was around 5000 yen per person. It might have been all-you-can-drink, thanks to the lady's hospitality. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

Located right in the heart of Osaka Minami, near Ebisu Bridge, is a chanko (sumo wrestler stew) restaurant. Their specialty dish, Kinsei Nabe (¥2500), features a clear and light soup made by simmering chicken bones for 15 hours, along with turtle soup, kelp dashi, shiitake mushrooms, and many other ingredients. The carefully selected ingredients include chicken thigh meat, chicken back liver, sablefish, shrimp, clams, chicken meatballs, sardine dumplings, thin fried tofu, wheat gluten, carrots, sweet potatoes, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, burdock, and rice cakes, making for a substantial and flavorful meal. To finish off, their udon, ramen, and zosui (rice porridge) are all excellent choices. It's best to come with a good appetite and enjoy the meal until the end.

I went to a New Year's party in 2016 at a restaurant called "Naniwa Ichiban." It's a place that serves chanko-nabe, a type of hot pot. It was my first time trying chanko-nabe since coming to Japan. I already liked hot pot, so I thought chanko-nabe would be just like any other hot pot, but I was wrong! It was so different! The dish came with a variety of seafood, vegetables, and meatballs, and it was a huge portion. The broth was flavorful, and the seafood, vegetables, and meatballs all complemented each other perfectly. It was really delicious! For the final course, you can choose between udon noodles or zosui (rice porridge). I chose zosui, which was a good choice! (laughs) I wanted to try the udon too, but I was too full to fit it in. I definitely want to go back and try it again! As someone who already loves hot pot, it was the best! Thank you for the meal! It was so delicious! That's all! ☺☺☺☺☺

Visited on a humid and muggy evening. Despite not feeling like eating hot pot due to the weather, I had made a reservation and assumed the restaurant would be quiet on such a day. Located on the second floor of a dining building, I was surprised to see quite a few customers even on a weekday. The restaurant requires each person to order one serving. There are two types of hot pot available: seafood hot pot for 2800 yen and Kinsei hot pot for 2500 yen. I asked the staff which one is more popular and they recommended the Kinsei hot pot, so I ordered two servings. The broth was made with dried shrimp, giving it a unique flavor with a strong presence of kelp. The waitress added the ingredients into the pot with gusto using her bare hands. The meatballs and minced chicken were delicious, but the hot pot itself felt more like a sukiyaki. It was tasty, but lacked the distinctive flavor of traditional hot pot. The drinks were affordable, with bottled beer priced at 250 yen and shochu at 190 yen, making it a good option for group gatherings.

It's getting cold, so I decided to go to Naniwa Ichiban to have some hot pot. The restaurant isn't very big, but they have tatami seating so it's great for groups. They offer chanko hot pot and spicy seafood hot pot. I ordered the light chanko hot pot and also some delicious deep-fried taro. The portion of the hot pot was huge, even for two people. The soup was light at first but became rich as we cooked the ingredients. The udon we had as a finish was also tasty with a good broth. As we were leaving, they surprised us with a yuzu sherbet dessert. It's best to go there on an empty stomach because the food is delicious and affordable, but you might end up very full!

The warm days continued, and the cherry blossoms bloomed early, but then the cold returned! In the bustling districts of Kitahama and Minami, you can see the distinctive smell of hair oil and the sight of sumo wrestlers, making me crave chanko nabe! On cold days, hot pot is the best choice... I went to "Naniwa Ichiban," a chanko nabe restaurant in Minami. The landlady mentioned that the place is always busy, so it seems people like me are common! (laughs) I ordered chanko nabe and beer! First, we were served "crab tofu" as an appetizer. It was so delicious that I almost considered ordering it separately! The chanko at this restaurant is hearty and made with soy sauce-based broth. You prepare the hot pot by grinding sesame seeds in a large earthenware pot and waiting for it to cook. Finally, add udon noodles and enjoy! I wanted to order various dishes, but I was already full! Indeed, on cold days, hot pot is the best choice! Or should I say, "Naniwa Ichiban" is the best choice! (applause) I finished every bite... Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again.

As it starts to cool down a bit, I start craving hot pot more and more! This time, I went to Naniwa Ichiban for their chanko-nabe. It's always delicious no matter when you eat it. The broth here is the best! Adding a little sudachi citrus to the broth makes it even more amazing! The tsukune (chicken meatballs) here are unique and tasty. They also serve a delicious appetizer. They don't cut corners here. The alcohol goes down smoothly too. For dessert, I chose ramen this time. It was delicious until the very end. I will definitely be back again!

I tried this chanko restaurant for the first time based on a friend's recommendation. I liked that the hot pot had a lot of vegetables to eat. There were various ingredients such as vegetables, fish, chicken, and meatballs, and I think the portion size is generous. I made a reservation, so when I entered the restaurant, the ingredients were already prepared, and there was a lot of them. I wanted to order less chanko for the number of people and add a side dish, but I had to order for the full number of people, so I ended up getting full on chanko alone. The sardine meatballs didn't solidify and turned into a broth-like consistency, which was shocking (laughs), but the chanko was delicious. I would like to go back at least one more time during the winter.

I made a reservation for a hot pot course and when I went, one dish was different from what I had reserved. However, it was delicious so it wasn't a problem. The chanko hot pot comes in a huge portion, piled high on the pot. It's really overwhelming. But it's so tasty that I ended up eating until I was full.
