The dining on the 31st floor of Hoshino Resort Tomamu was a great choice for breakfast during our stay. It was conveniently located in the North Wing where we were staying, so it was easy to access. The view was nice, and the semi-private seating area was very relaxing. The breakfast venue had multiple options, but this one seemed to be the most peaceful for enjoying a meal. It is recommended to make a reservation for breakfast and the restaurant and time can be booked after check-in. We reserved a table for our second morning breakfast and were able to get a seat with a great view. The menu included a choice of one main dish, followed by a buffet-style selection of other dishes. During our visit, the main options were sashimi, crab and egg rice bowl, mountain vegetable noodles, pork bowl, and salmon and salmon roe rice bowl. I chose the crab and egg rice bowl, which was delicious with plenty of crab on top of fluffy egg. The buffet corner was well-stocked with a variety of Hokkaido specialties, such as fried Atka mackerel, Hokkaido zangi (fried chicken), corn fritters, homemade roast beef with Hokkaido Shari onions, smoked salmon, smoked herring, squid shiokara (fermented squid), scallop shiokara, grated yam, tofu, and Uno Farm yogurt. For dessert, there were Yubari melon jelly and sweet red bean rice cakes. While the atmosphere was more geared towards adults, there was also a tapioca drink station that would be enjoyable for children. I particularly liked the Hokkaido milk used in the drinks. I ended my meal with a cup of Coffee Senka Yoshida's Tokachi roasted coffee, served in a lovely coffee cup. It was a satisfying breakfast experience, and we were able to relax until nearly 10 am. I highly recommend this dining option when staying at Tomamu!
