Today, I visited the Hankyu Snack Park for the fourth time on a Saturday lunch, aiming to complete all 15 stores! The first place I went to was "Ekisoba Meshi," where you can eat Chinese noodles with saltwater and a Japanese-style dashi broth called "Himeji Station Soba." I had the "Ekisoba," which had one tiny shrimp hidden in the corner and was mostly tempura covered in flour. Then, I went to "Tamago Maru" across the way, which is known for its omelettes, but I ended up trying the "Beef Tendon Bokkake Curry." I was satisfied with two meals for less than 1000 yen, which is one of the great things about Hankyu Snack Park!
After filling up my stomach, I went for sweets, but since I had already conquered "Gozako" and their taiyaki, I decided to try the Blue Mountain Coffee at "Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee" located next to the entrance. This place, like "Ekisoba Meshi," is not a permanent establishment but rather an event corner. I got the Blue Mountain Coffee (iced) for 300 yen (tax included). This coffee uses 100% Blue Mountain beans from Jamaica, and they offer it in both hot and iced versions. They also had tea, orange juice, apple juice, mixed juice, and light snacks like mixed sandwiches, pork cutlet sandwiches, and Osaka Motomachi cutlet sandwiches.
I took the iced Blue Mountain Coffee, which was poured into a cup filled with ice, to the standing table and enjoyed it. "Blue Mountain" refers to the coffee beans grown in the limited region of the Blue Mountain range in Jamaica at an elevation of 800-1200 meters. These beans are known for their elegant aroma and refined sweetness, and they are quite expensive due to their limited production. Even at my local high-end coffee bean shop, a blend costs 500 yen for 100g, while Blue Mountain beans cost a whopping 1500 yen! Drinking a cup of Blue Mountain Coffee at a cafe usually costs around 1000 yen, so getting it in a plastic cup at a reasonable price was a great deal. However, I couldn't fully appreciate its sophisticated taste compared to my usual 100 yen iced coffee from a fast-food chain. The bustling atmosphere of Hankyu Snack Park was quite different from the leisurely cafe time where you would expect to savor such a high-quality coffee.
To lift my spirits, I decided to head to Grand Front Osaka for the summer sale to find clothes for my upcoming trip to Okinawa and Kume Island at the end of August. A friend who was out playing Pokémon GO in the area happened to join me. Bon appétit! (●^o^●)
