Sakae Kyo's shumai, which everyone has probably tried at least once, has become popular nationwide. Especially in the bento corner of Yokohama's train stations, they are always available. They are perfect as a side dish for bento, and even when cold, they are delicious. They go well with alcohol, and adding Japanese mustard makes them even tastier!

I don't usually eat shumai, but I decided to try it out. It came in a pack of 6 (300 yen including tax). It was delicious without any unpleasant smell, easy to eat. It can be enjoyed as a snack or a side dish. My favorite part was the included mustard and chili sauce, which looked cute like a toy. Thank you for the meal.

It's Friday night in Machida. I had a satisfying lunch with 1.5 pieces of sushi at Rakko. Afterwards, I stopped by Odakyu Department Store to look for snacks for the night back at home. I wanted to avoid fried foods because of my recent back pain and lack of exercise. I stumbled upon Sakurashokudo and decided to buy some. It's been almost three years since I last had it. I bought half a box and steamed it at home. I mixed the soy sauce with the accompanying mustard and took a bite. It tasted delicious, just like I remembered from forty years ago. I went shopping for my parents' request and bought some items. It was a busy evening on a weekday, with many customers coming in and out of the store. I purchased vacuum-packed siu mai, with options for 15 pieces at ¥620 and 30 pieces at ¥1,230. I chose the vacuum-packed option for longer shelf life, but I felt that it had a slightly porky smell compared to regular siu mai. Overall, I think the regular siu mai might be more delicious. It's Saturday night. Today is one of my two weekly grocery shopping days. A few weeks ago, I reviewed the shumai from Sakai-Tei and it was delicious, bringing back memories of my youth. However, a follower informed me about a special version of the shumai that I didn't know about. I love specials, so I had to try it. I found it in Odakyu's food section in Machida, and it was a bit pricey but worth it. The special shumai came in a fancy box with a leopard print soy sauce container, which I found unique. I steamed it at home and topped it with mustard and soy sauce. It was delicious, with a noticeable difference in the amount of dried scallops. This special version is definitely worth trying in a larger size next time. Thank you for the meal.
