Located in a deep corner of Nihonbashi, this 1.8-tatami coffee stand is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, yet it attracts customers from out of town and even overseas. Barista Map, the owner, not only serves uncompromisingly delicious coffee but also provides detailed explanations of each coffee to help customers choose. The shop offers nearly 10 different types of beans that change weekly, ensuring the best quality. Customers can enjoy watching the coffee extraction process while engaging in conversation. The coffee is served in wine glass-like cups, allowing customers to savor both the flavor and aroma. The temperature of the coffee can even be measured with a special machine provided. Many come seeking the unique taste that Barista Map offers, making this shop a favorite among coffee enthusiasts. In addition to coffee, the shop also offers espresso tonics, cute latte art, and other options for those who may not enjoy coffee as much. The top-notch quality of the coffee, combined with the excellent service and bean selection, make this shop a must-visit for coffee lovers. Thank you, Barista Map!

A shop that offers specialty coffee. Open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Both the barista and the staff were friendly and happy to share their knowledge about different coffees and flavors. Also, both of them spoke English fluently, so it's easy for foreigners to visit.

It takes about 1 minute to walk from the Osaka Nipponbashi National Bunraku Theater. It's a small coffee shop focused on takeout, but there is a bench in front of the shop where you can also enjoy your drink. The young staff is very kind and they explain about the unique coffee beans in a polite manner. However, the coffee made from special coffee beans can be quite expensive, ranging from 550 yen for a blend to 1500 yen for a single cup of the more expensive ones. I remember being surprised when I ordered without looking at the prices for the first time. Indeed, they are delicious with unique characteristics. The regular blends are also very tasty. Since the area in front of the shop is crowded, I always take my coffee to go and enjoy it in the lobby of the Bunraku Theater. It's a blissful moment to read the pamphlet I bought beforehand while sipping on my coffee. This time, I watched "Imoseyama Onna Teikin" and "Sonezaki Shinju." I didn't have time to watch both, so I had to skip "Imoseyama Onna Teikin" this time. Even though I've seen it many times, I always want to watch it again because the cast and performances are different each time. The show ended at 8:30 PM, and I enjoyed it leisurely in my usual seat.

I searched for a place to drink coffee and found this place. It was my first visit and the staff were very kind. They explained the different flavors and tastes of coffee beans to me, and I decided to try Kenyan and Ethiopian coffee. They brewed it with care using hand drip method and served it in a wine glass so I could enjoy the flavors. The owner even provided a thermometer to show the temperature changes and encouraged me to enjoy that aspect as well. The coffee was delicious and I had a great time drinking it.

Autumn Bunraku performance, two parts: "Ichinotani Futabagunki" - A story based on the Battle of Ichinotani in the Genpei War. "If you cut down a branch of the Kumaizakura tree, you should cut off a finger." This is a tragic tale of sacrificing one's child for their lord. Unbelievable, but for the samurai code, sacrificing one's child is a must! After the performance, I went to a coffee shop. Despite the strict no eating or drinking policy in the lobby due to COVID-19, I enjoyed my coffee in the waiting room. The coffee shop is small, but always crowded with cheerful staff. I will definitely visit again to wake myself up with their coffee.

BARISTA MAP Coffee Roasters is a coffee specialty store located in Namba. They roast their own coffee beans and offer guidance on beans and roasting. On weekends, they open a cafe where they serve meticulously brewed drip coffee that is clear and refreshing yet deep and flavorful. It was really delicious!

It was a hot day like early summer, so I stopped by a coffee shop I happened to see. When I thought about ordering an iced coffee, the guy asked me, "What kind of coffee do you like?" After some discussion, I got the recommended Colombian coffee. It was really delicious. But 900 yen might be a bit expensive.

The Bunraku performance has started with a spring-like play called "Yoshitsune and the Thousand Cherry Trees." On the first day, we will see the play "Gobu no Tsuji" at the Bunraku Theater. For lunch, I had Samgyetang in Tsuruhashi and drank Makgeolli, so I will definitely take a nap later. My nap spot will be at the Bunraku Theater. Recently, a small coffee specialty shop opened right next to the theater. I couldn't find my favorite canned coffee in the vending machine, so I decided to get a takeout coffee recommended by the shop. It was Colombian coffee, fruity and tasting like fruit juice. I took a break on the first floor of the theater before enjoying the play "Gobu no Tsuji." The cherry blossoms in front of the theater were in full bloom, and the red and white lanterns added to the festive atmosphere. Now that I'm feeling more awake, let's go listen to the sad story of Tamate Gozen and Shundokumaru in the play "Gobu no Tsuji," a fitting play for the Year of the Tiger. Tamate Gozen was born on the Year of the Tiger, the Month of the Tiger, the Day of the Tiger, and the Hour of the Tiger. Could it be the Year of the Five Yellow Tigers? It is said that drinking the liver blood of a woman born in the Year of the Tiger from a abalone shell can cure serious illnesses instantly. Scary! I ended up crying and falling asleep soundly.

I finally visited the coffee stand, Barista Map Coffee Roasters, that I had been wanting to go to ever since seeing it on Instagram! This shop is supervised by Shinzaki Fukuyama, the world champion of latte art. The other staff members have all studied barista techniques and knowledge in Australia for many years, so they are all amazing people. The shop offers barista school on Mondays to Wednesdays, and roasting on Thursdays, so the shop is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 to 17:00. I visited on a rainy Friday just before 3pm. The shop is located right near exit 7 of Nihonbashi Station. Despite the rain, there were already 9 people in front of the shop. The shop is quite small at 1.8 tatami mats, so there are limited places with roofs, and some customers were drinking coffee outside with umbrellas. Although Shinzaki-san was not there that day, the staff member who took my order was very friendly and provided excellent service. While waiting for my order, the rain stopped, so I decided to enjoy my drinks outside. I ordered an Espresso Milkshake (¥950) and a Canele (¥400). The Espresso Milkshake was amazing, with flavors of chocolate, caramel, and ice cream blending perfectly. The Canele was a vanilla-flavored treat, and it was also delicious. The shop has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, with staff members and customers striking up conversations easily. It's a lovely coffee stand. Although I couldn't stay long due to work, as I was leaving, both the staff and other customers bid me farewell, making me feel warm inside. I would love to visit this shop again!
