A Japanese restaurant opened on June 8th at the Daimyo Garden City. The concept is "I'm glad to be born in a country where rice is the staple food." The main branch in Ebisu is said to be difficult to reserve. After visiting the neighboring "Torikami" restaurant, I made a reservation. On the day I visited, the reservation was full, so I recommend making a reservation. There are 8 seats at the counter and private rooms available.
I had the "Lunch Set (Chakaiseki) for 3,800 yen (tax included)" along with a side of Oolong tea for 700 yen (tax included), with an additional 10% service charge. In total, it came to 4,950 yen (tax included, credit cards accepted).
The dishes included:
- Soup with dashi made from kombu and bonito
- Simmered vegetables
- Sesame-dressed sea bream (from Itoshima) and tuna (from Katsuura)
- Grilled salmon with miso marinade
- Clay pot rice made with milky queen rice from Itoshima
The meal also came with 8 different accompaniments for the rice, such as pickled plum, chicken soboro, and salted salmon roe. The miso soup with seaweed and the pickled vegetables were also delicious.
The freshly made bracken rice cake was soft and tasty, and the matcha green tea at the end was soothing. The leftover rice was packed into a bento box with the accompaniments, which was a nice touch.
Overall, the experience of enjoying delicious rice and a variety of accompaniments made me appreciate being Japanese. The attentive service from the manager added to the pleasant dining experience. I'm curious to try their evening menu, which includes appetizers like hassun.

The Ritz Carlton in Fukuoka was a place I wanted to visit. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was quiet, and they were particular about rice, offering a new kind of cuisine. The rice was firm, so it may be a matter of preference. It was mentioned that you can choose between sesame mackerel and fish, and both are currently available. There were also plenty of side dishes, making it an enjoyable meal.

It is a shop where you can feel a very Japanese atmosphere with a single board counter. First, you choose the type of rice. I heard that the +800 yen "Dragon's Eye" is the most popular, so I chose that. And the course begins. Beautiful seasonal ingredients are used in the dishes that line up one after another. The first dish, the taro in the dashi broth, is deliciously firm. The shrimp is also firm and delicious. The boiled ingredients have a good texture, just right. The appetizer is scattered with lotus flowers and is visually beautiful. The sashimi, salt-boiled tuna, is fresh and the sea bream from Itoshima has been aged a bit, showing a commitment to quality, and it was very sweet and delicious. The grilled conger eel with plum jelly is refreshing and summer-like, with a nice contrast between the crispy outside and flavorful inside. And what impressed me the most was the Japanese salad. To let you enjoy the taste of the vegetables in their natural state, they are grilled with oil or left raw, seasoned with bonito flakes and soy sauce, and do not use dressing. The sweetness of the vegetables is irresistible. The soy sauce, dashi broth, and bonito flakes go so well with the vegetables. It's amazing. I also tried the rice in its al dente state before it became white rice, and the strong aroma of the rice was also delicious. After the fried and grilled dishes, the main dish, Dragon's Eye, was served. Each grain of white rice is large and the aroma of the rice is fragrant. Even just eating the rice is sweet and delicious. It's so good that it could be eaten with just salt. As I was thinking about whether to eat it with the grilled dish, a variety of rice accompaniments were brought out. What on earth...?!!!?!! How can I choose...??!! Each accompaniment is delicious, but the rice itself is so delicious that I feel like I could just eat it with salt. It was a luxurious time with delicious rice. Thank you for the feast. Delicious rice and hospitality with a high level of excitement.

Nice to meet you! I have visited the Fukuoka Umel Tokyo store before. When I tried the Dragon's Eye in a clay pot rice dish for the first time in Tokyo, I was shocked. I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka, which opened on 6/21, and used the Garden City restaurant. There are many good dining options there! Fukuoka Umel also had Dragon's Eye rice, as well as other Kyushu rice varieties. All the course dishes are delicious, but the service is too slow. I wish they could be a bit faster. You might find your favorite rice there. Why not give it a try?

There is no open kitchen, so I wonder if it's okay to solve it with the price. It's probably expensive because it's located next to The Ritz-Carlton, but I wonder if it's not of the same quality as The Ritz-Carlton. Almost everything is pre-made and comes out of the refrigerator. It cost almost 40,000 yen for two people without alcohol. It might be better to go for lunch.

I wanted to eat delicious rice, so I went to Komeru in Daimyo Garden City, which opened after Daimyo Elementary School. The food and sake were excellent. The lively atmosphere at Torikami next door was pleasant. Next time, I will go to Torikami. I will definitely go back!!

Lunch on the second day at Daimyo Garden City was at "Komeru" with a tea kaiseki lunch set for ¥3800 (tax included) and oolong tea for ¥700. They usually offer a choice of rice, but today it was served with Itoshima Milky Queen rice. The rice was cooked with kombu and bonito to make a flavorful broth. The rice had a slightly firm texture and a sweet aroma. The menu mentioned a choice between sesame mackerel or grilled fish, but they served both, with grilled bream instead of mackerel. The grilled fish was amberjack with miso marinade. The clay pot rice was served in a unique shape, and it was cooked perfectly. Various toppings were provided, including pickled plum, chicken soboro, egg yolk, plum fruit, hijiki seaweed, pickled mustard greens, beef shigure, shredded dried fish with sansho pepper, and spicy cod roe. I finished the meal with a Tamago Kake Gohan (egg over rice) using the egg yolk. The dessert was freshly made warabi mochi, served warm with a gentle sweetness. It was delicious, although a slightly burnt edge would have been a nice touch. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!
