They also gave me a delicious butter cookie, which is one of the products from this farm and can be ordered online just like their milk. I unexpectedly had the chance to speak with the president, who was friendly and approachable, even taking turns at the register and chatting with customers. On my way out, I also bought a Gouda cheese cake that is not easy to find online. There were many families with children, creating a lively and relaxed atmosphere at the farm.

Watanabe Experience Ranch in Teshikaga. I remembered there was a place called "Watanabe Experience Ranch." Maybe I should stop by? I used to come here a lot when I first started playing golf. I couldn't afford a membership at the local golf course, so I often came to public courses like this one. It's located along the road I used to frequent back then. When I walked into the shop, I was surprised by the variety of products they had, including soft-serve ice cream for only 300 yen. The shopkeeper was a nice guy. Then an older man came in, followed by a young lady. It turns out the ice cream was made by the young lady. I couldn't help but ask if I could take the cup home, and the older man said, "Sure, go ahead." I decided to enjoy the ice cream outside, and it was unexpectedly milky, even though it wasn't that hot outside. It was smooth, not too sweet, and the cookie was delicious. It was a refreshing treat. After enjoying the ice cream, I left the shop feeling good.

I went on a soft cream and bakery tour. It was my first time visiting Watanabe Taiken Bokujo. As the name suggests, it is a ranch where you can enjoy various activities. Since it was early in the morning, there were about 10 people signing up for activities. Inside the D-type house, there is a reception area and a shop. There are various soft cream flavors with different toppings, but I chose the standard soft cream for 300 yen. Unlike a cone, they serve it in a cup from the beginning. The cup is also cute! Now, the soft cream tasted like milk, fitting for a ranch (lol). It was a bit too sweet for my liking, sticking to my throat. There was a cookie or shortbread topping. It tasted delicious when dipped in. Overall, it was just okay... Thank you for the meal!

It's a weekday morning in the town of Teshikaga. During the summer vacation season, the parking lot of nearby roadside stations is filled with around 50 campervans parked for the night, overlooking the sight, I arrived at a place I had been wanting to visit. Located off Route 243 from the town center towards Kawakami, you'll see colorful banners along the road, as well as a sign for this place, making it hard to miss. There is parking space for about 20 cars. It was 11:10 AM, and the previous customers were all families with children, looking like they could be on a happy family planning show. The building looks like a multipurpose house where farm equipment is stored, with a living area on the second floor perhaps. While not suitable for air conditioning as a shop, it's interesting for a tourist spot. Near the entrance, Holstein goods are sold, and further inside, in the double-height space, you can find cheese and milk for sale, along with an eat-in area. This place is advertised as an experience farm, with 70 hectares of land and 120 dairy cows on the grasslands at the foot of Lake Mashu, offering various experiences. From making ice cream to milking cows, and even having Genghis Khan BBQ, the barbecue house can accommodate up to 200 people. Personally, I'm not interested in the experiences, so let's have some soft serve ice cream. Looking at the menu on the wall, besides simple soft serve, they offer flavors like red bean, chocolate, black sesame, aronia, and cheesecake. They all seem interesting, but to avoid any big surprises, I chose the coffee jelly soft serve. It arrived in a cup labeled "Cow's Milk". The soft serve was creamy, not as distinctive as I expected, with the coffee jelly being like store-bought. It came with a cookie to go with it, providing a safe and familiar soft serve experience. As I was eating, an announcement came saying, "You can now experience milking cows!" and a family went behind the curtain to the designated area, but the child was crying. Despite the challenges, it's a fun farm where families can create good memories through simple experiences. Thank you for the meal.

Unfortunately, due to the mist, I couldn't see anything at Lake Mashu, but I accepted it as one of the faces of Lake Mashu. I arrived at my next destination, Watanabe Farm, where a magnificent grassland spread out before me with lovely cows. I didn't have much time, so I quickly finished shopping and took off! - Milk from cow's udder @230: The fresh milk was refreshing with just the right amount of richness, making it easy to drink. - Soft serve ice cream @300: This soft serve ice cream also used freshly squeezed milk, without any unnecessary processing, allowing you to taste the freshness of the milk directly. On September 13, 2015, at the Higashi Hokkaido Cheese Festival venue, I arrived late and the cheese I wanted was sold out, but I still had a good time. When I entered the store, there were so many cow-patterned goods that it was almost dazzling! Towards the back, there were products made with the ranch's fresh milk, and you could choose to eat it on the spot, in the car, or the next day. - Premium Ranch Ice Cream Milk Flavor ¥300 After taking a photo with the impactful car in the background, I enjoyed it on the bench outside. It had a soft texture with a hint of milk flavor, just the right amount of sweetness, and a smooth and slightly crunchy texture. The hint of saltiness from the biscuit was a nice touch. Eating soft serve ice cream outside on a sunny day is the best, second only to beer (laughs). - Cow's Milk "Cow's Breast Milk" ¥230 In 2008, they announced a low-temperature pasteurized milk that was pasteurized at 75 degrees for 15 minutes, with the impactful name of "Cow's Breast Milk" (laughs). Despite being low-temperature pasteurized, it is a rich and creamy milk. - Cow's Breast Milk Coffee Milk ¥230 Not overly sweet, with a bitter taste. - Cow's Breast Milk Drinking Yogurt ¥180 This was a new product featured in the newspaper. The yogurt is produced in their own factory, and they have reduced the acidity and sweetness to make it more palatable for children who don't like sour things. However, maybe because of my unsophisticated palate, I couldn't really tell the difference (sweat). This ranch is a national "dairy education farm," and it seems like there are a variety of experience menus (courses and a la carte) available, so it would be fun for adults to experience with children on a sunny day! I approached a calf tied to a tree and it greeted me warmly. Visitors took turns taking photos with the calf, which was allowed. I then went to the shop to get some soft serve ice cream. The shop also sold dairy products, snacks, and ranch goods. I tried to take a unique photo with the calf and my ice cream, but the calf kept turning away. Eventually, I managed to take a photo without the calf in it. The soft serve was delicious and not too sweet, with a smooth texture and a hint of milk flavor. I also bought some pasteurized milk before leaving. The ranch offers milk squeezing, butter, and ice cream making experiences, as well as a Genghis Khan barbecue. As I left, I saw another couple trying to take a photo with the calf, who seemed to be in a good mood this time. It was a fun and memorable experience at the ranch.

On the way to Kushiro, I stopped by this place called "Cow's Milk Yogurt." The name is cute. The yogurt is in a small 200cc bottle, easy to finish in one go. I opened it right away. Surprisingly, it's not very sweet and has a thick texture, almost like unsweetened yogurt. It might be too sour for kids. I also bought their special cheese tart and aged cheese cake. They are small and light, easy to eat. I preferred the tart over the cake.
