They have a wide variety of drinks and the food is tasty, especially the seafood. Overall, it's a great izakaya for those who enjoy seafood.

I decided to have lunch there today, and it was the same place where I had a good lunch before. The restaurant is spacious, mainly with table seating, and can accommodate about 100 people. I sat at a table near the entrance and ordered the Braised Pork Belly Set Meal (900 yen). It's quite rare to order braised pork belly at a seafood izakaya for this price. The main dish of pork belly came with egg and thick fried tofu soaked in sauce, and it was quite generous in portion. It also came with two types of pickles, a small salad, rice, and miso soup. Considering the price, the amount of food was surprisingly substantial. The braised pork belly was well-cooked and the meat was tender and flavorful. The egg was a nice addition as well. The rice had a light and fluffy texture, which complemented the pork belly well. I finished my meal in about 15 minutes. It's a place where you can enjoy a light lunch, but it's also a popular izakaya bustling with customers at night. I believe the evening menu is also delicious and reasonably priced. The third restaurant I randomly entered during bar hopping. When a container of lemons arrived, I thought it was for the drinks, but it turned out to be a complimentary sashimi dish. I was much happier with sashimi as a complimentary dish than with strange side dishes or sweets. The restaurant is spacious, making it relatively easy to enter. I don't remember much because I was drunk, but it was not a bad choice for a spur-of-the-moment decision. If I ever get lost on my bar hopping journey again, I would like to come back to this place. I opted for the more affordable "Octopus Boiled" dish. The appetizer that came first was a luxurious sashimi platter with yellowtail, sablefish, and octopus. Following that, the octopus dish I ordered arrived. It had a unique texture and was delicious. As my Red Star beer ran out, I switched to a highball. I then ordered the "Fried Chicken" dish, which came in a set of three pieces. Despite being in a seafood-focused restaurant, I couldn't indulge too much due to budget constraints. The wasabi served here was particularly tasty and complemented the seafood well. The restaurant also attracted foreign customers who seemed to be enjoying the traditional Japanese izakaya experience. Interestingly, there were two mature ladies sitting next to me, with one resembling the famous Japanese wrestler Riki Choshu.

I find myself looking for Toromasa even outside of Shinjuku. It's delicious, affordable, and they have a wide variety of drinks, so I go there often!

So, I asked another subordinate for a recommendation on a place where we could eat sashimi and oysters, and the three of us went there. We sat down and first ordered a mega highball. A lemon container was brought out as a starter, and when we opened it, there was sashimi inside. It was at that moment that I realized I had completely forgotten to eat lunch during the day. The restaurant was lively and quickly filled up! It was my first time there, but it was a cheap, delicious, and fun place. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go back.

It was located near Shinjuku Nishiguchi, in the Yodobashi Camera area. During my time working in Shinjuku, I used to wander around this area for lunch quite often, so it brings back good memories. I saw a large seafood izakaya with appealing menu outside and decided to give it a try. Despite its size, the place was quite crowded. We were seated at a table for two. They asked us about smoking preferences, so it seems they have smoking and non-smoking sections. I was torn between ordering the Saikyo-yaki (grilled fish marinated in miso) and the seafood bowl, but ended up choosing the seafood bowl. It was served in about 7-8 minutes. The bowl was on the smaller side, but they made the toppings overflow in a visually appealing way. The bowl included tuna, salmon, scallops, octopus, squid, shrimp, and a variety of other toppings. The rice portion was a bit small though. I noticed that they offer a free large rice portion after writing this review. The freshness of the toppings was excellent, with a nice amount of fatty fish. I was satisfied with the meal. The side dish was unexpectedly namul (Korean seasoned vegetables). The meal came with pickled ginger and miso soup for 1,100 yen. Considering the location, it was reasonably priced. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
