I visited for lunch. The restaurant was about 70% full, but it was quiet and had a calm atmosphere. There were two daily lunch specials, and I ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura & sashimi set for 1,000 yen (the other option was chicken tempura). The meal arrived within 5 minutes of ordering, and the tempura was crispy and hot. The tempura included okra, eggplant, and yam... and there were even two shrimp! The sashimi was bonito, sea bream, and horse mackerel? There was a space for soy sauce and salt on the sashimi plate, which made me really happy. The side dishes and soup were also delicious. The meal was definitely worth the price. I would like to go again.

I heard that there is a set meal where you can enjoy delicious sashimi and freshly fried tempura at the same time, so I went to Ishikoro, a creative izakaya in Kitahama. For lunch, you can choose from tempura or fried chicken along with sashimi. The restaurant is located between Kitahama and Sakaisuji Hommachi. It has an elegant white noren and a calm atmosphere inside with dim lighting and warm pendant lights. There are counter seats for 5-6 people around the kitchen, as well as tables for 4 and 6 people, making it convenient for groups. I visited just before 1 pm on a weekday, and about half of the seats were occupied. I was seated at a table for 4 people even though I was dining alone. Lunch is available from Tuesday to Friday, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm (please check the latest information from the restaurant for current business hours). Today's lunch menu includes the following options (all prices include tax): - Tempura shrimp and vegetable with sashimi: 1,000 yen - Fried chicken thigh and sashimi: 980 yen I ordered the tempura and sashimi set. The tempura is fried fresh to order. While waiting, I could hear the sound of tempura frying and the soft piano jazz playing in the background. After about 10 minutes, a splendid meal was served. The set included tempura shrimp and vegetables along with three types of fresh sashimi. The meal also came with shiny rice, miso soup, and a side dish. The sashimi consisted of tuna, flounder, and horse mackerel. The tuna was smooth and creamy, with a rich flavor. The flounder had a firm and fresh texture, with a subtle sweetness. The horse mackerel was also flavorful and fatty, making each piece of sashimi satisfying. The tempura was crispy and fragrant, with two shrimp, eggplant, burdock root, and green pepper. The thick and crispy batter complemented the sweet and juicy shrimp well. The tempura vegetables were also delicious, especially when dipped in the daikon radish-infused tentsuyu sauce. Overall, the quality and presentation of the sashimi and tempura were excellent. The meal also included side dishes like dashimaki tamago and assorted vegetables, as well as perfectly cooked rice and flavorful miso soup. The attentive service from the female staff added to the enjoyable dining experience. Ishikoro is a great place to enjoy high-quality and reasonably priced dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I ordered a lunch set at an izakaya in Kitahama, which included shrimp and vegetable tempura with sashimi for 1,000 yen. The tempura was fried after I ordered, and it was crispy. Especially the shrimp was juicy and delicious. The tempura dipping sauce was good, but eating it with salt was the best. The sashimi portions were small, but considering the price, it was satisfactory. All the sashimi was fresh and tasty. For 1,000 yen, the quality and quantity of the meal were excellent.

It's been a while since I had a great meal. The unique taste of ginger hot pot is unbeatable! Even when eaten with red miso, it's delicious! For the finishing touch, I had half-size noodles. The fried sweet potatoes may not be the healthiest option, but they are irresistible to people of all ages. I can't resist ordering the repeat of the fried white shrimp!

I used it for a regular lunch. It is a Japanese sake bar located in a business district, about a 7-minute walk from the subway station "Kitahama Station." The restaurant, which opened in September 2006, has a total of 24 seats. The owner, Shimizu, in a workman's outfit, and one staff member were handling the customer service. I ordered the lunch menu item "Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura with Sashimi Set 980 yen" listed on 1-1. Here is the content and evaluation: Tempura: Good. It had a refined taste with a thin coating. Served with tempura dipping sauce or salt. Included shrimp (2 pieces), nagaimo, eggplant, and shishito peppers. High-quality ingredients were used. Sashimi: Excellent. Fresh sashimi of yellowtail, bonito, and flounder with a strong soy sauce and wasabi. It was a great combination. Small Side Dish: Good. Cold daikon, rolled omelette, and hanpen. A classic lineup of Japanese cuisine. Soup: Excellent. A hot soup with a rich broth, tofu, and trefoil. It was very delicious. The background music was jazz, and the customers were mostly business people. The restaurant was about 90% full, with a female ratio of about 50%. The restaurant had a rating of 3.20 on Tabelog at the time of the visit. In the midst of rising prices, the 980 yen for this meal was impressive! It was a great restaurant where you could enjoy freshly fried authentic tempura and fresh sashimi. Next time, I would like to try the "Handa Nyumen and Mini Seafood Bowl Set 1180 yen" listed on 1-2 for lunch. Thank you for the meal! I'll be back.

One day's lunch memo. I heard about it from someone at work and decided to try it out! They said they have tempura, sashimi, and other reasonably priced lunch options. The restaurant had a slightly dim atmosphere with both counter and table seating. Since it was hot, I went with the sashimi set lunch for 980 yen. It included a tempura assortment (2 shrimp, eggplant, yam, shishito peppers), a sashimi assortment (amberjack, striped jack, flounder maybe?), a small side dish, miso soup, and rice. It's quite a good deal, right? The sashimi was delicious, especially with a bit of flounder fin attached. As for the tempura, there was also fried chicken on the menu, and the batter was quite dark (maybe just that day), and personally, I didn't like the frying style. The tempura dipping sauce was a bit light too. The miso soup broth was also light. Sorry, it's just my personal preference. They also have a sashimi-only set lunch, and when I showed the photo to my colleagues, they said you can add two more types to the assortment for the same 980 yen. If you want to fill up your stomach, this is recommended. It's a good value with generous portions and quality ingredients. Thank you for the meal!

Burityaki set meal at Kitahama Ishikoro @ Kitahama around 12:30 pm. There was a lucky empty seat at the counter. The lunch menu is abundant here. This is my second time visiting. Last time, it took quite a while for the food to be served, so I was a bit hesitant. Among the various menu options, I wanted to eat fish, so I chose the buri teriyaki. This time, it was served in just over 10 minutes. It was big and cooked well, with a fluffy texture. When mixed with the sauce, it was delicious. The rice was also very satisfying. The service from the older brother at the counter was polite, and the lighting was calming even during the day, so I could relax. #Izakaya #buri #teriyaki #Kitahama lunch #Kitahama gourmet

Kitahama ~ Sakaisuji Hommachi ◇ Izakaya Lunch ◇ [1 Awajimachi, Chuo-ku] Sakaisuji Awajimachi 1 signal, 2 streets to the east, on the left side is "Kitahama Ishikoro" lunch menu sign in front of the shop. Lunch hours are from 11:00? Entered at 11:27 on weekdays, with 5-6 customers already seated. The menu is extensive, ranging from Iga pork bowl (680 yen) to Wagyu steak set (1280 yen), including curry, sashimi set, tea soba, eel bowl, seafood bowl, and about 20 other lunch options. Ordered the Mixed Fry Set (900 yen), which was ready in 13 minutes. Rice, soup, small side dishes, tartar sauce, tonkatsu sauce, and the main plate (1 shrimp fry, 2 oyster fry, beef croquette) were served. The homemade tartar sauce can be drizzled with a spoon to your liking. Having tonkatsu sauce on the side was appreciated. The rice was delicious, and the meal was satisfying. "Thank you for the meal."

I went out to eat Chinese food, but unexpectedly, the restaurant was closed. I searched and found a nice restaurant with lunch specials like: - Shrimp and vegetable tempura with sashimi set - Warm udon and eel rice bowl set - Chicken thigh tempura with sashimi set - Mixed fry set - Iga pork rice bowl and half Hanta noodles set - Cold tea soba and tempura bowl set. I decided to order the "Shrimp and vegetable tempura with sashimi set". The sashimi was thick and fresh, with great flavor. The tempura was a bit soggy but tasted decent, with two shrimp which was nice. The side dish that came with it was a good deal for the price. They had about 16 different lunch sets on the menu. The fish dishes were delicious, so I'll try some of those next time.

Buri salt-grilled set meal at Kitahama Ishikoro @ Kitahama Itsuzoya for lunch. I was craving for fish, so I decided to try this place. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and nice. Buri salt-grilled is rare, so I gave it a try. The buri was not dry, and the salt seasoning was just right. The side dishes were also carefully prepared. You can see the staff cooking and plating the food in the open kitchen. The waitress seemed a bit flustered because of the variety of the menu, so the service was a bit slow. It might be better to limit the lunch menu to around 5 items. The food was delicious, so I hope they keep up the good work! #Izakaya #Buri #SaltGrilled

I went there twice. The set menu was surprisingly good deal. One day, I got a set with local chicken thigh tempura and sashimi, and it was just too good of a deal! So, I ended up mixing it in a pot and even finished the set meal. I'm thinking of taking the pot home by reservation.

I've been there a couple of times. They offer takeout and set meals, which is a great option during this time. The wagyu beef stew curry is quite filling and full of flavor, it's really good! The ginger hot pot is always a must-try.

At Tenma Bridge and Kitahama, many shops are closed on Sundays, so I walked around looking for places that were open. I was drawn to a place I wanted to visit for my second stop, so I decided to check out the first place. The atmosphere of the shop and the handwritten sign caught my attention, so I entered. The seats at both the counter and tables were quite full. The shop has been open for 14 years, but I had never noticed it even though I often pass by this area. I ordered a la carte items: - Assorted sashimi - Salt-boiled purple shiso - Assorted oden - Simmered tai fish head - Rolled omelette The assorted sashimi comes in small portions, starting from 1380 yen. The oden had a homey and gentle flavor. The simmered tai fish head was quite sweet in the broth, which would go well with sake. Personally, I prefer a slightly lighter taste. The rolled omelette was available in half and regular sizes, and I chose the regular size. It was quite large and full of dashi flavor. Delicious! I really enjoyed the dashi flavor in the rolled omelette. There were many hot pot options on the menu, and they all looked delicious. There were also some unique hot pot choices that seemed perfect for the upcoming season.

The takeout options at Pona have become more fulfilling with the a la carte series. Has the Sunday business hours changed? Of course, the teppan hot pot is a must-have. I'm torn between the Handa noodles and finishing with a porridge! A new series of bite-sized dishes has been introduced. The crispy potato salad is a great way to start.

A Japanese izakaya in Kitahama. I used it for takeout during lunchtime. The staff were polite and very friendly. I got the "Slightly luxurious homemade bento" for 880 yen including tax. They also had richer bentos and appetizers for 1500 yen, 2500 yen, and 3000 yen. The 880 yen bento had a rich content that you wouldn't expect, with a lot of side dishes including main dishes like shrimp fry and chicken, as well as Japanese-style pasta, grilled mackerel, sausages, tamagoyaki, potato salad, simmered dish, pickles, and more. Additionally, there were two pieces of eel on top of the rice, making it even more satisfying. The taste was also excellent, and it was a delicious bento even when it cooled down.

Twitter, this place is amazing. What a find! Ishikoro-san in Kitahama has started offering takeout, and their famous ginger hot pot now comes with both broth and ingredients, along with a side of half-cut noodles! Plus, they have a fancy appetizer set with steak, salt-grilled yellowtail, firefly squid, and clams. It's a bit pricey since they just started, but totally worth it!

I tried the kaki no mizore nabe for the first time, and it was so comforting and warming with the dashi broth! The ginger in the hot pot really added to the warmth, especially with the grated ginger. Maybe it could be a bit cooler to add more variety to the hot pot lineup? Lately, I've been enjoying it with some soy sauce-marinated salmon too.

The sashimi I had at the beginning of the bonito season was amazing! I tried a cold Japanese-style capellini for the first time, and surprisingly, the light Japanese taste blended well and was delicious. Hot pot is only available by reservation during the hot season.
