I can't believe I found this place here! It's a tonkotsu shoyu ramen, but the soy sauce flavor stands out more. The soup is relatively light because the fat is properly filtered, resulting in a clean broth. I added extra char siu for an additional 150 yen, and ordered the noodles firm and the green onions plentiful. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Arrived at the restaurant around 12:00 on a hot Saturday. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant. There were about 5 groups waiting. We were able to enter in about 10 minutes, perhaps due to the good turnover. You can choose the firmness of the noodles and the amount of vegetables. I had the miso ramen with firm noodles and extra green onions. The noodles were straight and slightly thick, and the soup was light and easy to drink, with a delicious miso flavor. The bean sprouts were crunchy and tasty. I should have ordered extra bean sprouts. It was a taste that I really liked. My wife had the soy sauce version. It was refreshing, not too salty, and also delicious! The white rice was also tasty. There are not many ramen shops where the white rice is delicious, so this restaurant was good in that regard. The Stamina Donburi had a generous amount of pork fat on top of the white rice. We have decided to revisit this restaurant soon.

I went during the Obon holiday and waited for 30 minutes. I ordered while waiting in line, and once inside, the ramen arrived quickly. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful, and the staff were polite. I had miso ramen. The soup had a unique and fresh flavor, the chashu was fatty and tender, and the green onions and bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal!

A visit to Mr. Ramen after a long time. It's a bit of a drive from Route 1, arrived around 13:00 on a weekday, had to wait for 2 groups ahead of us. Waited about 10 minutes and got seated. Ordered the Chashu Ramen with extra green onions, firm noodles. The ramen was served in just 5 minutes. It had plenty of chashu slices. The thinly sliced chashu had just the right amount of fat, was tender and delicious. The soup was also refreshing! It's a classic Akira-style ramen, isn't it? The fact that they have parking space for over 10 cars is much appreciated. Will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

Visited during a weekday lunchtime. Another scorching hot day today. Too hot. So, I went for ramen for some salt intake, haha. This place is inconvenient to get to without a car. It's past 1 p.m. and there are already three people waiting in line. Despite the intense heat, I still want to eat Mister Ramen. I always order the same thing, Menkatane Green Onion. It's the signature Kyoto-style ramen, always delicious and reliable. Thank you as always. I'll definitely come back again.

I had been curious for a while and finally went to this restaurant. The staff were all young and provided attentive customer service, taking our order while we waited. This time, I ordered the fried chicken and mini ramen! The dishes were served smoothly once we were seated. The fried chicken had a strong flavor, which might appeal to those who like bold seasoning. Personally, I prefer a milder taste and a crispier skin. The ramen was neither too salty nor too soy-flavored, which was good, but I was disappointed that the taste of artificial seasoning lingered afterwards. The noodles were similar to those from Kondo Seimen, which I liked.

On a holiday, I visited Mr. Ramen in Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture! I parked my car in the parking lot across the street and arrived around 11:30 AM. There were about 6 people waiting, so I waited a bit and entered the counter-only restaurant with my partner. I ordered the Mr. Ramen (soy sauce flavor) with extra vegetables and gyoza set, while my partner ordered the salt ramen. The gyoza arrived at the counter along with condiments! They were nicely cooked! Soon, we also got rice, pickled vegetables, soy sauce ramen, free extra vegetables, salt tonkotsu ramen, and gyoza. The gyoza had a strong garlic punch and was delicious! Both ramen were pork bone-based with a simple soy sauce flavor, and the salt flavor was also nice! We shared the gyoza and rice between the two of us. The bill came to 2000 yen, but for some reason, we got 110 yen in change. It was so delicious!! How was Mr. Ramen, right?(*´∀`*)(゚д゚) Delicious(゚д゚) Delicious. Please note that the evaluation of the restaurant is purely subjective. I might have poor taste buds, so your favorite restaurant might not always align with my ratings. It's been a few years since my last visit. The restaurant was full, but I didn't have to wait long since there was only one group ahead of me. I ordered the jumbo size (1.5 servings), extra chashu (for an additional 150 yen), and extra vegetables (which were free). It had the taste of the Daiichi Asahi series, which I like. The soup and chashu were delicious! They also had a variety of condiments like garlic and yuzu kosho, so you can enjoy changing the flavor.

This time, I ordered the Mr. Ramen (soy sauce) and the Chashu Don. I'll review the soy sauce ramen since I haven't done so before. It's a ramen in the Akira style (from the Daiichi Asahi group), which used to have a distinctive greasy oiliness, but it has been updated. It has become a ramen that is easy to eat and appeals to everyone! As for the Chashu Don, it was a bowl with the so-called Chashu on top (just as it is). The amount of Chashu was a bit small, leaving some rice uneaten. There is a menu item called Chashu Meshi, and I was torn between that and the Chashu Don. My companion chose the Chashu Meshi, which turned out to have plenty of diced Chashu on top, so I regret not choosing that! I'll try it next time!

On Tuesday at 1:20 PM, I waited for about 10 minutes as it was fully booked. While waiting, I'll go ahead and take your order. There are only about 10 seats at the counter. The ramen and chashu bowl were ready in about 5 minutes. The ramen is a simple soy sauce flavor with a slightly fatty tonkotsu broth. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles with a lower water content, which pairs well with the soup and tastes delicious. Overall, it's a simple dish that will appeal to those who like simplicity. I also ordered the chashu bowl separately, but the 20% increase for just searing the meat seems a bit expensive. The chashu slices are similar to the ones in the ramen, thinly sliced and quite fatty. At 400 yen, it might be a bit overpriced. However, the portion size is decent and quite filling.

Today, I visited a popular ramen shop in a slightly niche location. It is located in a residential area in Nagaokakyo City where fields are scattered. There is a dedicated parking lot (for about 10 cars) on the opposite side of the shop across the road. I arrived around 11:20 a.m. Upon entering the shop, it was not very spacious. There are around 10 counter seats surrounding the kitchen. Although it is a long-established shop founded in 1980, it seems like there has been some renovation. It doesn't feel bright or old-fashioned. It seems to be a popular shop as it was almost full. Even after me, there were continuous customers who seemed to be regulars, although it wasn't crowded enough to form a line. Despite nearly half of the people ordering "miso ramen," I decided to go with the classic choice of "Mr. Ramen (soy sauce) (regular)" and "rice (small)." The appearance resembled a standard "chuka soba." I took a sip of the slightly transparent soup. It was a light pork bone soy sauce flavor. It had a nostalgic deliciousness that could be eaten every day. The soft straight thin noodles also paired well with the soup, making it delicious. The thinly sliced chashu with a good balance of fat and lean meat was tender, and the bean sprouts and green onions did a good job as well. Delicious! It also goes well with white rice. Of course, I finished every drop of the soup and left fully satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

After work, I felt like having ramen for the first time in a while, so I parked my car in the parking lot in front of this restaurant and entered around 8:00 p.m. I sat at the empty counter seat and ordered the "Miso Chashu" (850 yen) with extra green onions. The bowl was generously topped with sliced chashu, chopped green onions, and hiding underneath were bean sprouts. The soup was a rich miso flavor combined with a pork bone base, with a fragrant miso aroma and a rich umami taste, enhanced by the caramelized onions. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles with a chewy and sticky texture that paired well with the soup, creating a delicious harmony. The chashu consisted of thinly sliced white (fatty) and red (lean) pork, which blended well with the miso soup and was very tasty. The ramen had a large amount of chashu that made it incredibly filling. This was my first time trying miso ramen, and it was as delicious as the classic "Mr. Ramen" (soy sauce). Especially during cold weather, miso ramen might be even more enjoyable.

Visited Nagaokakyo City at the end of November for the autumn leaves. For lunch, headed to Mr. Ramen, a place I had my eye on. Arrived at 10:55 am. There was one person waiting ahead of me. The shop opened almost at 11 am. They took orders in order. When I requested, "Soy sauce ramen, firm noodles, with chashu," they responded, "Chashu ramen, right?" Even though it wasn't written on the menu as chashu ramen, it made sense. The shop is a no-frills ramen shop in a simple town. Lately, I've been going to places that are all "designed," so this was refreshing. Soon after, the ramen was served. The soup is a clear tonkotsu broth, not too rich but has that pork bone flavor. It's seasoned with soy sauce, but it's not aggressively flavored like various blends. It's just good old-fashioned tasty ramen. The chashu, or rather pork belly, was rich in fat. The green onions were also delicious. Finished every last bit. There was so much chashu that I was incredibly full. Thank you for the meal.

(Taken from a blog post) Today, I went to Nagaokakyo in Kyoto Prefecture. For lunch, I decided to stop by a popular local ramen shop. Mr. Ramen seems to be an established ramen shop founded in 1980, with a few people lined up outside around 2 p.m., perhaps due to it being a Sunday. While waiting, I was handed the menu. The basic option seems to be soy sauce ramen, with the regular size priced in the 700 yen range, quite reasonable. After a short wait, I was seated at the counter-only layout inside. The soy sauce ramen from Mr. Ramen was topped with plenty of green onions. It resembled the traditional soy sauce ramen from the Daiichi Asahi group, with the richness of pork bone broth evident in both appearance and taste. You can choose between "firm" and "soft" noodles, and this time I chose "firm." The noodles blended well with the soup and were delicious! When you soak the chashu in the soup and savor it, it tastes great. Additionally, the generous amount of bean sprouts was distinctive. I finished it all in no time. It was a soy sauce ramen that allowed me to enjoy the taste of a traditional Kyoto ramen, evoking a sense of nostalgia.

I found this restaurant while looking for a late lunch spot. Oh, it looks similar to Asahi near Kyoto Station from the high ratings and photos! So, I ordered soy sauce ramen and gyoza! They asked about the firmness of the noodles, but since it was my first visit, I asked for regular. The ramen arrived. Oh! It looks similar! I took a sip of the soup, yes, it tastes similar and delicious! The meat was tender and the flavor was exquisite! The medium-thin straight noodles also mix well with the soup. At Asahi, you usually have to wait for an hour, but how about here? This time it was just before 2 o'clock, so we were able to get in without waiting, maybe we were lucky. You can also choose gyoza without garlic, but since I didn't have any plans to meet anyone special, I ordered it with garlic. The skin was thin, crispy, garlicky, and delicious! I'd like to come back, but it seems like it would be difficult to come all the way here. Thank you for the meal!
