When searching for a new restaurant, there are times when you look at the map and wonder, "Is it really located in such a place?" Well, I recently had that experience again (laughs). Geographically, it is located north of the Heidi Farm, and I honestly wondered if there was a settlement in that area. The narrow gravel road I found was not recognized as a road by the navigation system. After carefully searching, we finally found the place. The Google Maps accurately indicated the location, so when visiting this place, rely on Google Maps. We entered with another couple, and one table was available as the other was occupied. The lunch sets included three types of bread lunch sets, panini lunch sets, and croque madame lunch sets. The contents of the bread lunch set were not fixed, so we could check the contents. I chose the croque madame lunch, and my wife chose the bread lunch. The lunch sets came with a drink, and we could choose from the drink menu. I had mandarin, and my wife had the Kon'ya Blend hot coffee as a post-meal request. The croque madame lunch consisted of homemade bread with ham, cheese, and a delicious-looking fried egg on top. They grated nutmeg right in front of us, which added a nice aroma. There were two salad dressings, and we chose the spicy nut dressing. The staff explained everything clearly and served us with great care. When I took a bite of the croque madame, I exclaimed, "Oh, so delicious!" The cheese, ham, and fried egg were incredibly tasty, comparable to the croque monsieur at Aruno Pain in Biei. The salad was fresh, and the spicy dressing was also delicious. My wife had the bread lunch, which included salmon in red curry. The red curry, made with coconut milk, had a slightly sweet taste. She preferred to eat the bread and curry separately to avoid the sweetness. Even without any toppings, the bread was delicious. The carrot jelly dessert was also tasty. We requested coffee after the meal, and although it was not to my liking, my wife enjoyed it. Considering the price of 900 yen, the meal was a great deal. The cafe is run by a couple in their 70s and has a very cozy atmosphere. Despite being in such an inconspicuous location, there was only one sign at the entrance. The wife mentioned, "I set the store location on Google Maps." Perhaps they want to run the business at their own pace. The name of the cafe is ji-ba Cafe, which may be a play on the words "jiji" and "baba" (grandpa and grandma). Thank you for the meal.
