With a focus on health, the trend of eating out has shifted towards chicken dishes for the past few months. I recently visited Toridori Tei, a restaurant I had never been to before. I ordered mainly the popular dishes on the menu, and everything I tried was delicious. One of the limited edition items at this Kitatatsumi branch is the "Torino Atsumeshi," a dish born from staff meals. It consists of rice topped with a mixture of grated yam and chicken breast. Adjust the flavor with wasabi and soy sauce, and you're sure to love it! I couldn't help but exclaim, "I'm eating such a great staff meal!"

<First Visit on 13/12> I decided to try this izakaya-style restaurant for some chicken dishes. There is a coin parking nearby. I chose a table seat in the tatami room (sunken kotatsu style). The place is quite spacious and suitable for a small party. Two young female staff members were in charge of our floor, providing efficient service. We ordered the following: - Special chicken sashimi (¥1029): The garlic chips, grated garlic, and grated ginger complemented the chicken sashimi very well. The presentation was three-dimensional, but the portion of chicken sashimi was a bit small. Good value for money! - Grilled chicken offal (¥766): Various types of offal provided a variety of flavors, and the spiciness was just right. The fact that it was a limited-time menu also motivated us to order. It was served hot and delicious. - Daikon radish salad (¥399): Surprisingly, the wasabi dressing added a nice kick to the daikon radish. - Grilled chicken tenderloin (¥924) - Grilled chicken skirt steak (¥714) - Chicken garlic fried rice (¥609) - Rolled omelette (¥451) - Oolong tea (¥210): Served in a beer mug that was frozen, so the tea was a bit diluted due to the ice. - Shochu highball (yuzu) (¥367): Yuzu syrup was provided separately for you to adjust the flavor. It would be better if they could add it for you to the right level. In conclusion, even with all these dishes, the total bill was less than ¥6000! Good value for money. I would consider revisiting if it's nearby. It seems like a great place for a small party.

Today, even though I usually eat mostly meat when dining out, I decided to visit Toriya, which is known for its chicken dishes. It's not a yakitori restaurant, but a place that specializes in chicken cuisine. I ordered all the signature dishes. The charcoal-grilled chicken thigh, a specialty dish, was delicious with a strong meaty flavor, a good chewy texture, and a perfect match with yuzu pepper. The Chicken Katsu Nanban, with a slightly runny tartar sauce and sauce, was also tasty! Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how good chicken dishes can be.

This time, I went to the Kitazawa store. The Kitazawa store is quite a spacious place, so I invited someone to go with me. It was right by the station, so easy to find. Inside, there were two TVs so my companion didn't get bored even when they went to the restroom. The store had soccer jerseys and Tigers uniforms, making it a lively place. They happened to be holding a rock-paper-scissors tournament, and if you registered your phone, you could participate. If you kept winning in a row, you could get up to 50% off! Unfortunately, I lost in just one round (tears). The food was top-notch in taste, even among the Jidori-Tei chain restaurants. Jidori-Tei has a unique taste at each store, which might be a good thing.
