Footprint Leaving Squad Mochi confectionery, a milk-flavored modern Japanese confectionery? I had imagined a sweetness like condensed milk, but it turned out to be a refined sweetness like traditional Japanese sweets. It's easy to eat wrapped in edible paper. It's a nice snack for when you're feeling a little hungry.

I found a unique corn snack at a 100 yen store in the neighborhood. At first glance, it's obvious that it's a corn snack, but just by looking at the name, you wouldn't know what kind of snack it is. When I opened the bag and saw the contents, I was surprised by the difference between what I imagined and what I saw! Is this really a corn snack? The appearance and color are similar to a sweet bean paste snack, so I thought it might be like a rice cake. However, when I took a bite, I was met with a sticky texture that clung to my teeth. The taste was completely different - a refreshing corn flavor. It was a surprising sensation, similar to when I first tried corn tea. I found a really interesting snack!

This is a shop in Nanai Town, Hokkaido. Today's snack is a milk mochi made with Nanai Town's milk. Inside, there was a stick-shaped snack wrapped in an edible film. You're supposed to eat it with the film. It had a sticky and chewy texture that stuck to the teeth, and the taste was sweet. Thank you for the meal! ❤️

This is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in Nanai-cho, north of Hakodate. They are famous for their "Japan's Best Kibidango" which they produce and sell. The one I bought this time was a "one-bite kibidango". Kibidango made in Hokkaido is different from the famous kibidango from Okayama. It is made by kneading mochi flour, water candy, sugar, and sweet bean paste, then wrapping it in edible paper. The package features an illustration of Momotaro, but they do not use millet and instead use kibi sugar as their selling point. It has a strong sweetness, a sticky texture, and sticks to your mouth (laughs).

I received a gift like this! [Tengu-do Takarabune @ Walnut Mochi / Package] Ta-da! It looks like this... Soft mochi with a hint of soy sauce flavor and a crispy texture of walnuts. This mochi snack is made with 100% California-grown walnuts. Net weight: 1 piece Ingredients: sugar, corn syrup, wheat flour, walnuts, rice flour, red bean paste, soy sauce, edible wafer (starch) / calcium carbonate, (contains wheat, walnuts, soybeans in some parts) Shelf life: 180 days or more from the manufacturing date. Excerpted from the manufacturer's website... I received this as a souvenir from Hokkaido! [Enjoying Tengu-do Takarabune @ Walnut Mochi] I tore open the package, pulled out the white paper wrapper, grabbed the main piece, and opened it up... Hmm... the soy sauce flavor and rich taste of walnuts are good! It has a simple taste with a soy sauce base. Grateful for the delicious gift! Unfortunately, there was one person who couldn't eat walnuts, which was a bit sad... haha *There are also allergies to walnuts, huh... I enjoyed it deliciously on that day... I felt happy!

Keio Shinjuku - Hokkaido Foodist with miso flavor. The walnuts are small and not too strong in flavor, but they are perfect for when you're a little hungry. I'm not a fan of the wafer. No repeat visits.

"Purchased on August 16, 2016. This is a little extra edition, something commonly sold in candy stores and familiar in households, so I never thought it was a local specialty. It's called kibidango. But it's not made from kibi (millet) or a dumpling, haha. It's similar to gyuhi (soft rice cake) or mochi, made by kneading and kneading water candy. It's wrapped in an edible rice paper. This is Hokkaido's kibidango! Just as familiar as sweet potatoes, it's a popular treat for people of all ages. It's sold in many places, so if you see it, be sure to give it a try!"

During the Setsubun season, Tengu-do-san's kibidango was being sold. I looked it up online and found out that they have various flavors available. I have tried the regular flavor, as well as matcha, walnut, and black sugar kinako before, but I didn't know there were so many types. "Milk" - Compared to condensed milk, I preferred this one. The perfect sweetness of milk was really good. "Matcha Milk" - For matcha lovers, this one is great! The slight bitterness of matcha combined with the sweetness of milk was just right. "Salt" - Sweet and salty. Not too salty, so if you don't like overly sweet flavors, you should try this one. "Kombu Soy Sauce" - Both kombu and soy sauce flavors were distinct. It felt like eating kombu tsukudani, but it was delicious. "Amazake" - Tasted like eating amazake. Even though I'm not a fan of amazake, it was surprisingly tasty. I enjoyed the ones I tried this time, but my favorite is still "Walnut." I love the texture of walnuts. I would like to try them again if I have the chance.

December 6, 2015 It's the season for year-end parties. It might be a while since we last met, so showing up empty-handed would be a bit sad. On the other hand, going all out might be too much. That's why I decided to do a bulk purchase of "Japan's Number One Kibidango". It's only 40 yen per stick! Kibidango? Isn't Momotaro from Okayama? Let's not sweat the small stuff. These kibidango have been made since 1973 and are like soul food to me. The ingredients are simple - sugar, corn syrup, and wheat flour. But when wrapped in edible paper, they become a delicious confectionery. Maybe they can really help defeat demons? Let's bring them to today's drinking party (offline meeting) and search for companions to join us on Demon Island...(^ε^)♪

I tried a bite-sized miso walnut mochi! The savory miso aroma really whets the appetite. The first one... Mmm, delicious! Second one... Mmm! Third one... Can't stop eating! The walnut inside the mochi adds a nice touch. It was a tasty treat! Thank you very much!

I was able to successfully purchase this at an event. Tengu-do Takarabune, which manufactures dumplings from Hokkaido. Here, they produce a type of dumpling that is different from the well-known Kibi Dango from Okayama. - 5 pieces of Kibidango This "Kibidango" has a long shelf life. It is a Hokkaido specialty snack loved by the locals, and its traditional taste is popular with children as well. The packaging is simple and nostalgic. It is wrapped in an edible wafer, making it easy to handle when eating. It is sweet and has a chewy texture reminiscent of Bon-Tan Ame candy. And the best part is the cost performance. It is incredibly affordable, around 200 yen. Thank you for the meal.

After shopping at LAWSON, I saw this snack called "Hakodate" at the checkout counter and decided to buy it. When I got home and opened it, I found a dark lump wrapped in an edible paper. It turned out to be "Hakodate famous confectionery - Master's walnut mochi" for 108 yen. It is a sticky mochi made with a dense water syrup and walnuts. It's not bad considering the price, but personally, it's not really my cup of tea. I couldn't resist buying it from the convenience store counter. Thank you for the meal.

Blog ⇒ [On the back of flowing clouds♪] The government has added the following 8 prefectures to the target of "Priority Measures to Prevent the Spread": Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Shizuoka, Aichi, Shiga, and Kumamoto. The already targeted prefectures are Hyogo, Hokkaido, Ishikawa, Kyoto, and Fukuoka. Adding the newly targeted 8 prefectures to the above 5 prefectures, it makes a total of 13 prefectures. In addition, Tokyo, Okinawa, Osaka, Saitama, Chiba, and Kanagawa are under a "State of Emergency." Combining the 6 prefectures under the state of emergency, it totals to 19 prefectures with some form of restriction. Why doesn't the government issue a nationwide state of emergency at this point? Even if it is to compensate the lives of the people living now, don't they want to avoid leaving debt for the future? In any case, the government is only offering empty words and pushing the people living now into a corner. No matter how much we voice our opinions or argue, ultimately decisions are made by a few individuals. Until now, Japan has prided itself on being an advanced country. However, we have lost our momentum and ambition, feeling so immature and underdeveloped. The response to the new coronavirus over the past year and a half has been nothing but failures. Despite the fact that border control measures are still inadequate, the government is even giving orders to the citizens. Recently, HC Masayo Imura of AS retired, saying "I should pass it on to the younger coaches." I hope the politicians who control the Japanese government will learn from this spirit. At this rate, the travel and food industries will inevitably be wiped out sooner or later. In the end, the burden falls on the general public, but at least as long as our health allows it, I want to actively support and use restaurants! While taking proper infection control measures, I will continue to use restaurants as much as possible within my circumstances! Personally, my policy remains the same as before, but I will declare it even louder! The tough times will continue, but let's work together and do our best to live! On my way back after finishing my errands, I stopped by "Aspia Akashi" and found that a "Hokkaido Product Fair" was being held at the B1F Bazaar Square. I couldn't pass up this great opportunity, right?! So, I bought "Kibidango" from "Tengu-do Takarabune." Huh? Isn't Kibidango a specialty of Okayama? I don't think it involves carrying it and riding on a bear... (That's a bit off) haha! Oh! It's the other way around with Hideki Takahashi! (That's also a bit off) haha Well, in any case, I guess Hokkaido isn't the first thing that comes to mind, right? But it can't be helped since it exists! And the package has Momotaro on it... (laughs) However, upon checking the website, it seems that it is different from the one over there. Our "Kibidango" is made with unique ingredients and methods specific to Hokkaido, different from "Kibidango." *Excerpt from the website This "Kibidango" wrapped in an edible film can be stored at room temperature for up to six months. Therefore, it is a convenient snack that can also be used as a preserved food, familiar to Hokkaido natives.

Nanporo Town, Hokkaido. Known for its traditional Japanese sweets and snacks, "Tengu-do Takarabune" is located in an industrial park to the west of Oonakayama Station on the Hakodate Main Line. The "Kibidango" is a popular choice, with its sticky and chewy texture. I will be visiting in mid-August 2021. The ingredients used in the Kibidango are safe and trustworthy, making it a delicious treat. Thank you for the meal!

The kibidango here comes in various flavors. Oh, there's even one from Misuzu Coffee. It's a black kibidango with coffee flavor. It's been a while since I had kibidango, so I was surprised to see it wrapped like this. I ate it while thinking, "Is this how kibidango is supposed to be?" I also saw kibidango designed with the Nagamare-go train from Isaribi Railway at Goryokaku Station. It might make a nice souvenir.

Convenience store purchase. Recommended by a friend, I thought it was a convenience store snack, but it turned out to be a snack from a faraway pastry shop. I had to try it! (laughs) It was a firm, chewy slab type of snack wrapped in edible paper. It was softer than it looked, and you could even tear it with your hands. The taste was as expected from the appearance, but the texture of the walnuts was interesting and delicious. The size was just right for a snack. Thank you for the meal!

This is Shinkawa. The end of the Coachan For Seijo Ishii series. I go here and there, and if I see things like this, I end up buying them, so it ends up being just a series of small items. This was the one that caught my eye the most. You can imagine what it is... (=´∀`) When it comes to Tengu-do Takarabune, Japan's number one kibidango is famous! Did you know they make it in Shichinohe Town? I knew it was from Hokkaido, but I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know much about it ( ̄▽ ̄;) I tried the matcha-flavored kibidango during snack time at work ^_^ Just as I thought! It's just a matcha-flavored kibidango! But it was delicious^_^ It's filling, and the matcha flavor adds a nice touch, making it tastier than regular kibidango^_^ Thank you for the meal^_^
