On a hot Sunday, I visited the restaurant after a long time craving for spicy curry. The menu has been significantly renewed. I ordered the Mix B with a lot of ingredients (lamb + beef tendon + vegetables + egg) for 1,080 yen. I also ordered an iced café au lait for 200 yen off as a set (100 yen). The rice was a mix of brown and white rice, and the spiciness was medium (though not very spicy). It was satisfying and seemed like a good deal for the price. The medium spiciness wasn't enough for me, so next time I'll go for the spicy option. I'm interested in trying other menu items, especially the Tandoori Chicken Curry with a single piece of chicken thigh, so I'd like to revisit soon. Interestingly, even though it was a Sunday, there was only one staff member working instead of the usual two. Perhaps because of this, the opening time was not 11:30 AM but 12 PM. Luckily, I was the first customer, but for those coming later, they might have had to wait for about 20 minutes from ordering to starting their meal.

Today I visited BODYPITKYOTO for the second time this week, following my visit on Tuesday. I couldn't resist coming back because the food was so delicious last time. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Curry with a piece of chicken thigh (brown rice, extra spicy, onsen tamago) today. It was incredibly tasty. I was told by the head chef of a traditional restaurant in Gion before that "There's a delicious curry shop under the elevated tracks in Marumachi!" Since it was my day off today, I stopped by on my way back from the bank. I chose the Mix A (Chicken & Seafood). The chicken and seafood were perfectly grilled and delicious. I asked for it to be spicy, but it could even be spicier. I'll go for extra spicy next time! It's so delicious, I might get addicted. Thank you very much.

As I was wandering around Yen Town looking for lunch, I could already smell the delicious spices from the restaurant's front. I was convinced by the aroma and decided to go in. Feeling greedy, I ordered the Mix B (lamb, beef tendon, vegetables, egg). Even while waiting, I was soothed by the scent of the spices. With just one bite, I could feel the strong presence of the spices, and it was just right! I usually order very spicy dishes, but choosing the mildly spicy option was the right decision. I was able to savor the rich flavor enhanced by various spices. It was also nice to have the option of less rice and a 50 yen discount.

I visited during lunch time on Friday, May 26, 2023. There were two other customers already there. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken curry, medium spicy, with half and half rice. It took about 10 minutes for the curry to be served, which felt a bit long for curry. The curry was medium spicy but not particularly hot, leaning more towards mild. It had a nice light texture. The Tandoori Chicken was tender and delicious! The rice was also tasty. The most memorable part was the black sesame paste served as a palate cleanser. It had a unique deliciousness to it.

Before I knew it, I found myself in Enmachi, which has become one of Kyoto's top gourmet cities. I tried the Otoko Curry. I went for the Mix B (lamb + beef tendon + vegetables + egg). It had a surprisingly mild flavor, which was a bit anticlimactic, but the ingredients like lamb and beef tendon were quite good. I couldn't help but regret not ordering the Tandoori Chicken Curry, which is their signature dish. On the other hand, the mildness of the curry makes it easy for everyday consumption, as evidenced by the middle-aged and elderly ladies in the neighborhood who were heavy users, including for takeout. And it's so affordable. Next time, I think I'll go for the Tandoori Chicken after all.

Hello, it's Curry Uncle again! I'm in the area around Marumachi in Kyoto, where Sunlight was earlier. There are lots of curry restaurants around Marumachi, you know! I arrived at 1:30 pm and went into the restaurant. This time, the curry restaurant is here, Marumachi Reverb (135 Nishinokyo Minami, Marumachi, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, in the Enza Building 104). There are 4 counter seats and maybe 3 tables for 2 people each! There are bottles of spices lined up on the counter. I sat at the counter seat in the back and checked the menu. I ordered the Beef Tendon Curry for 850 yen! You can choose from white rice, brown rice, or half and half for the rice, and I chose half and half this time. I also added extra large serving for +100 yen, half-cooked egg for 80 yen, and iced coffee for +100 yen (limited to lunchtime). After waiting for a while, the Beef Tendon Curry (extra large serving, half-cooked egg, iced coffee) came to a total of 1130 yen. The rice is round and half of it is a different color. The color looks like the character Ashura from Mazinger Z! Now, let's dig in. The rice is cooked firm, and the beef tendon is incredibly tender. Although it was described as medium spicy on the menu, it wasn't that spicy, so maybe you can choose the level of spiciness! It might be nice if it was a bit spicier and more flavorful. On top of the rice, there are pumpkin paste, bean paste, black sesame paste, and pickled purple cabbage (maybe)! You can change the taste of the curry by adding these items. The sweetness and acidity are accents. When I cracked open the half-cooked egg, it was also wonderfully gooey. The yolk is sweet and delicious. I quickly finished eating, then enjoyed the iced coffee after the meal. It's a relaxing coffee time. Even at Coco Ichibanya, after curry, it's coffee time. Why does coffee taste so good after eating curry? The curry had a flavor similar to Japanese curry, and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

The variety of spices lined up on the counter also contribute to the atmosphere of the restaurant. However, even though it's just curry, the dishes are elaborate, which seems to be a heavy burden for the owner who manages the restaurant alone. Therefore, the waiting time from ordering to serving is long.

I heard there was a delicious curry restaurant in Enmachi, so I came to check it out. The shop with a chili pepper mark as a sign. Even from outside, you can smell the spices. Inside, randomly placed manga greet you. It seems you can read them, but I'll pass this time. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Curry (780 yen) in a large portion (100 yen). I chose a mix of brown and white rice. The curry has a strong spice aroma that makes you feel happy even without eating it. It's spicy, but not overly so. It's more like a pleasant spiciness for the sake of flavor. You can strongly feel the spice flavor in the taste as well as the aroma, showing the shop's dedication. In any case, it was a delicious curry. I'm thinking of coming back again.

A spice curry restaurant in Marucho, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City. I go there the most often in this category. The taste is clean and refreshing. They hold back where needed and trim off the excess. It may not be flashy, but it has a sharp and satisfying flavor. They offer several types of curry with varying levels of spiciness, but the colors are almost the same. Overall, the spiciness is mild, so even beginners should be able to enjoy it. I topped the beef tendon curry with tandoori chicken. Even at 980 yen, it's quite reasonable for a spice curry. I really love it. The restaurant is usually quite full, but not to the point of excessive waiting. This balance is good. If it became extremely popular and always had long lines, it wouldn't be as enjoyable to visit casually.

I've been here many times already, and the taste always makes me want to come back regularly. They offer various curries like Tandoori chicken curry, mutton, and beef tendon. The level of spiciness varies depending on the type of curry, but none of them are too spicy, so I think any choice would be fine. You can choose between brown rice and white rice for your curry, and it's great that you can even go for a half-and-half option. The side dishes on top of the rice are amazing, ranging from tangy flavors to bean dishes and coconut-scented items. They are delicious on their own and also perfect when mixed into the curry. The curry is made without using flour, so it's not heavy after eating, yet still satisfying.
