This is a cafe located at the summit of the final stop of the Hakodate Nanae Ropeway. The ropeway operates year-round, not just in the winter as a snow park. I visited in the middle of summer, and even though the temperatures were high in the region, it felt slightly cooler at the ropeway's final stop. The cafe used to be managed by Seibu in conjunction with the Onuma Prince Hotel, but Seibu has since sold the Hakodate Nanae Ropeway, and it is no longer affiliated with Seibu. You can take a free shuttle bus to the ropeway station from the Shinkansen Hakodate-Kosoku Station or JR Onuma Koen Station. The cafe has indoor seating as well as a terrace where you can enjoy the outdoor views. There is also a dog run at the foot of the mountain, so you can relax with your furry friend. The cafe offers coffee and light meals, and the menu includes lunch sets, shrimp doria, and shrimp curry. The view from the cafe overlooks Lake Onuma and Mount Komagatake, but unfortunately, when I visited, a sudden fog obscured the scenery. If you plan to visit this cafe, it's recommended to purchase the round-trip ticket with lunch included for 3000 yen or the round-trip ticket with an ice float for 2200 yen, as it is more cost-effective. The ice float is refreshing and costs 700 yen at the cafe. The cafe itself is a bit average in terms of taste, but the experience of enjoying nature in a relaxing setting makes it a luxurious time, especially for city dwellers like myself. The coffee is 450 yen, and tea is 500 yen. Overall, the food menu is similar to a ski resort cafeteria. The cafe has a rating of 3.0 on Tabelog, a food review website, but it's a decent place to take a break after using the ropeway.

At the ski resort, there is a new stylish cafe called "Peak Cafe" located 15 minutes up on the gondola. They offer a special breakfast experience at this mountain cafe, which is a fantastic idea instead of having breakfast at the hotel. The tour company arranged a private breakfast at this cafe, and the deputy manager's passionate and fun guidance really impressed us. Riding the gondola, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Mount Komagatake and Lake Onuma for 15 minutes on your way to the mountaintop. Access to the "Hakodate Nanae Snow Park" has greatly improved with the Hokkaido Shinkansen. The "Peak Cafe" at the gondola mountaintop offers a majestic view of Mount Komagatake while enjoying a meal. It has even been registered as a "lover's sanctuary." This new tourist spot in Nanai Town, Southern Hokkaido, called "Peak Cafe" and "Danshaku Lounge," was wonderful.

We went up by gondola and it is located at the top. It's a 1-2 minute walk from the gondola. There was a romantic spot for lovers with a nice cafe. The weather was not great and the view was okay, but the cafe was beautiful. They also offer a lunch and gondola ticket set.

I visited the ski resort in the afternoon on February 27, first taking the gondola up and then skiing one run on a high-speed lift. I also stopped by a place I had always wanted to visit, the PEAK CAFE. When I used to accompany children as an instructor, we would always stop by the PEAK BELL on the observation terrace, also known as the "Lovers' Bell," for a commemorative photo and to ring the bell (I had instructed the children to make a wish for couples or someone they liked secretly). This was my first time entering the cafe. Since I had already eaten lunch, I just wanted to have a relaxing drink, so I ordered a non-alcoholic beer (SUNTORY ALL-FREE) as I had to head back soon. It was just past the lunch peak, so the atmosphere inside was calm, and I enjoyed my drink slowly. Although dining in such places can be a bit pricey, considering it as paying for the view, it was a nice place to relax and enjoy. I could understand why it is popular. After resting my feet, enjoying the view, and savoring the taste of the non-alcoholic beer, I went on to ski three more runs down the mountain, thoroughly enjoying my reward for the day. Normally, I would join a tour organized by the ski club I belong to, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was not possible last year or this year. I hope that next season I can go skiing without any worries.

It was a visit to GW, and both the gondola and café were quiet with a relaxed atmosphere. The view was excellent, but there was nothing else to see at the off-season ski resort other than the scenery (lol). Since it was lunchtime, we decided to have a meal here. As it is located on top of the mountain, the ingredients are sourced daily. Therefore, the menu is displayed as "Today's Special". The prices were a bit on the higher side considering the location. I had the pasta lunch, and the taste was reasonably good. The only downside was that there was no explanation of the content of the "Today's Special" menu on the menu itself. I had to ask for details. More than half of the menu items were daily specials, but not mentioning the contents... If they had at least displayed it in the restaurant, I think I would have been able to use it more comfortably.

The gondola ride took longer than expected in 2017. The weather was cloudy and cold, but it might be nice to dine on the terrace once it warms up a bit. Although there is a 5,000 yen course available with a reservation, I opted for the 2,500 yen course as a walk-in. The appetizer and soup were served cold, which made me feel even colder on this chilly day. The main dish, black sea bream, arrived without any explanation, but it turned out to be delicious. The perfectly cooked white fish was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was also tasty. Overall, the service and other aspects could use some improvement, but the main dish was quite impressive!

It has been a while since Prince withdrew from the slopes of Nanae. We hope the new management will be persistent in their operations. The Hachinohe Nanae Snow Park has many mellow slopes, but the long skiing distance and the location overlooking Mt. Komagatake and the sea offer a unique experience. We hope to see more people using the park to prevent it from closing. The café, with its polite service and atmosphere, raises expectations for the quality of the food served. Before the hamburger arrived, a salad and soup were served. The corn potage soup had a nostalgic Western restaurant feel, and the salad with paprika was modern. The soup was richer than expected, and the dressing had a mild flavor reminiscent of a hundred demons. Finally, the hamburger arrived, with melted cheese stimulating the appetite. The sauce, similar to demi-glace, was almost burnt on the plate. The sauce had a mild flavor, which was reassuring. Cutting into the hamburger revealed a fine meat patty with a delicious breadcrumb nuance. The breadcrumbs absorbed the meat juices, creating a firm texture. The hamburger was not dry or crumbly, but delicious. The cheese hardened as we ate, possibly a natural cheese, which was a pleasant surprise. The garnish of potatoes was delicious, and the carrots and broccoli added a colorful touch. Overall, it was a very good value for money meal. It was evident that the cooking was done in that small kitchen, instilling confidence in the quality of the food. It would have been nice to have been offered more water. The location would be perfect on a sunny day.
