On this day, I happened to visit "Rakusho Sakaba Kuishinbo" in Ita-machi, Tagawa-shi, Fukuoka.
◇Exterior and Interior:
Located in the Ita shopping street near JR Tagawa-Ita Station, this izakaya stands out with its bright lights amidst the shuttered shops. The white lantern at the entrance is a sign, and the interior is cozy with a touch of homeliness. It was packed, probably due to the weekend. There is one TV, and smoking is allowed inside.
◇Seating:
6 counter seats, with the rest being private rooms.
◇Menu:
The menu is divided into regular and recommended items. I ordered the following:
- Chicken breast Tataki (620 yen) → Half size, tax included.
The Tataki was like something you would find at a local butcher in the countryside. It was seared on the outside, rare on the inside, with bold cuts of green onions and homemade sauce. It was delicious and addictive, even for someone like me who usually prefers soy sauce and garlic.
◆Strong Points:
A popular izakaya among locals celebrating its 7th anniversary this year!
◆Service:
Average.
◆Summary:
This being my first review, I must say the option of half size was convenient for someone like me who eats lightly. The yakitori was decent, but I would recommend trying the side dishes over the yakitori. Overall, a satisfying meal. Thank you for the treat!
