On this day, I entered the restaurant later than usual after work due to the closing time. I had 90 minutes until closing, with last order at 60 minutes. But I had no problem ordering the all-you-can-drink option! I had spicy red hot pot, number 6 fried chicken, miso skewers, and shrimp cutlets. Spicy food really goes well with alcohol, so I quickly drank 2 cups, then 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8... I even ordered 2 more cups before last order, reaching double digits. I'm a heavy user of Red Kara, but it was my first time ordering the miso cutlet. The rich miso flavor and crispy freshly fried cutlet went really well with the alcohol! Even though I don't usually eat fried food... it's so annoying... The must-have dish to finish the Red Kara hot pot is always the cheese risotto! As a risotto pro (?), I made a delicious one. Both my stomach and liver were completely satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I feel like I eat here about 2-3 times a month... I love the spicy dishes here! I always struggle with choosing the level of spiciness... I find that level 8 is delicious and I can handle level 10, but anything lower feels a bit lacking... But finally, I discovered something! Level 6 is the best in terms of flavor!! I think they probably add something concentrated and spicy to increase the heat... Level 5 feels a bit powdery and bitter, but level 6! It keeps the umami flavor while doubling the spiciness!! It's milder than level 8 but still satisfying and you can bring friends along!! ... They might refuse though (˙༥˙) haha. The all-you-can-drink option is great too, and the cheese omelet is amazing! Overall, I highly recommend level 6! Thank you for the meal! (⸝⸝•ᴗ•⸝⸝)੭⁾⁾

I am a heavy user of Akakara!!!! I love it so much that I want to go there once a week. It's a unique spicy hot pot that is completely different from Chige hot pot or Kimchi hot pot. I even make Akakara hot pot at home sometimes. Regarding my personal spicy level ranking, 1. I haven't tried it, 2. I haven't tried it, 3. The most delicious taste, 4. I feel a bit spicy, 5. The spiciness is perfect but the umami decreases, 6. Spicy lovers will be satisfied here! Umami also returns! 7. Similar to 6. 8. Similar to 6. I feel a bit spicy. 9. This is super spicy. Even spicy lovers will feel the heat. 10. Umami returns once again at this level! So, I adjust my spicy level depending on the person I go with. If they are not good with spicy, I go for 3. If they can handle it, I go for 6. If they are quite strong, I go for 8. If they are hardcore spicy lovers, I go for 10. They are all delicious. By the way, I haven't tried level 15 or 30 yet... I'm not that good at handling that level. (I should bring milk next time, but I'll request a soft drink with milk to avoid getting scolded.) See you again soon! Thank you for the meal!

In the latter half of October, it suddenly got cold, so I went to Akakara for the first time in a while. I had been buying Akakara's soup to eat at home, but the one at the restaurant was much spicier! I couldn't handle the level 3 spiciness, so I had to give up, haha. It was nice that you could choose the otoshi (appetizer) toppings! I chose the tteokbokki topping! As always, the Akakara hot pot was delicious. It was so tasty that I ended up ordering all the extra toppings. I finished off with noodles. It really warmed me up. Apart from the hot pot, they also have meat dishes and snacks, so even if you're not a fan of spicy food, you can enjoy it like a regular izakaya. However, I found the seating a bit cramped. Also, it was quite crowded, probably because it's gotten colder. It might be a good idea to make a reservation.

I used the red izakaya near my home for the first time. I have been to several franchise stores, but this was my first time at a directly managed store. The timing of the dishes, the service in between, everything was excellent and didn't feel like an izakaya at all. I would like to use it again.

We visited this restaurant on a holiday night with two people. Since it tends to be quite crowded if you go without a reservation, we made a reservation in advance. The inside of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, with semi-private booths and regular table seating. We sat at a table this time, and even though it was a semi-private booth, the dividers were thin so voices could be heard. There weren't any particular issues, and the staff, while not extremely fast, were attentive when called upon. The restaurant is located in the bustling area of Ikebukuro, so there were quite a few young customers. There weren't many large groups, but rather small groups of customers. The dishes were the same as the regular Akakara menu. Instead of a macaroni salad, we were pleasantly surprised to receive potato salad as the appetizer. Thank you very much.

This time, it's a review of the direct-operated store "Akakara Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Store" of the main brand of the "Kara Group" based in Toyohashi. Located on the 4th floor of a mixed-use building, this place is known for its two main dishes, "Akakara hot pot" and "Grilled chicken tenderloin," which are loved by those who enjoy spicy food. The unique interior design of the store is not the same at every location, and it has a narrow entrance but opens up into a spacious area towards the back, which is nice. Despite the heat, my companion wanted to eat something spicy, so we came here. The place was filled with the scent of red hot pots and chili peppers everywhere. We ordered "Akakara salad," "Akakara tamagoyaki cheese," and "Akakara hot pot (level 6 spiciness)" with additional toppings of "Chinese cabbage" and "collagen balls." When asked about the spiciness level, my companion chose level 6, even though they had only eaten level 4 before. We both love vegetables, meat, and hot pot dishes, so we enjoy eating them. The bean sprouts, garlic chives, hormone, and tsukune were plentiful, and the spiciness was not as intense as expected, but it did have a surprising punch that hit later on (laughs). The dashimaki with plenty of cheese was slightly sweet and flavorful with a rich broth, which was delicious. With the alcohol flowing, it was quite an experience (laughs). The place I often go to is a franchise that offers all-you-can-eat grilled meat and Akakara hot pot, so it may be better to consider franchises as separate from direct-operated stores. If you're curious, why not stop by and check it out?

Located a 3-minute walk from the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, "Akakara" is a chain restaurant that can be found anywhere. It was my first time trying Akakara, and I found it to be a cost-effective option for a meal gathering compared to a regular izakaya. The customer base is quite diverse, with people in their teens to 40s being the main clientele. We ordered the "Trial Set for 1990 yen", which included Akakara hot pot, two chicken dishes, edamame, and a closing dish. You could choose the level of spiciness from 1 to 10, and we opted for levels 3, 4, and 5. Since there were 9 of us, the hot pot was generally served for 3 people. The hot pot with miso and plenty of chili peppers was the most prominent dish. With its great cost performance, this is a place where you can enjoy conversations with friends.

Nagoya specialty "Akakara" has opened a new store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. I made a reservation for the opening day and went there. We were seated in a room with partitions, allowing us to relax with three people. We started with a Caesar salad, which was served with hot spring egg dressing. The first bite was refreshing with fresh vegetables, relying on the power of enzymes for a diet. Next, we had Akakara's signature tamagoyaki and hormone teppanyaki. The tamagoyaki had a spicy kick to it, typical of Akakara, while the hormone was juicy. This restaurant cooks the food in the kitchen without a barbecue grill, which was convenient for me as I dislike complicated things. We also had grilled chicken cartilage and skin, as well as a large skewer of pork negima. The Nagoya specialty tebasaki and the new product, Akakara fried chicken, were also delicious. Finally, we had the Akakara hot pot, challenging the level 5 spiciness with extra hormone. It was spicy but delicious. We finished with risotto using the remaining soup, with the melted cheese on top being the best part. For dessert, we tried the new menu item, "Imo Musume 'Goku'," which is a hot plate with melting ice cream. Akakara always offers new discoveries. This place is suitable for young couples, and it is a calm restaurant in a lively area. Thank you for the meal!

I came to the restaurant with a friend. It is located a little further back from the west exit of Ikebukuro. When we entered, it was quite busy even though it was a weekday. We were asked if we needed an explanation of the dishes by the staff, but since I had been there once before, we declined. However, the staff did explain the seasonal menu to the customers next to us who arrived later. I wish they had explained the recommended dishes and seasonal specials to us as well. The hot pot allows you to choose the level of spiciness, which is great for those who don't like spicy food or those who want it extra spicy. The prices were reasonable. When taking our order, the staff seemed a bit pushy, so I think a gentler approach would be better when making recommendations. Overall, we enjoyed our meal thanks to the attentive service. I would like to visit again.

It seems like "Akakara" has expanded from Aichi Prefecture. It appears to be a chain restaurant. The menu consists of dishes like Akakara hot pot, chicken dishes, beef dishes, and alcohol. The prices are generally on the lower side. The items ordered were: - Akakara hot pot level 1 for 1000 yen - Plump beef hormone for 600 yen - Eggplant pickles for 240 yen - Beer for 530 yen The Akakara hot pot offers 11 levels of spiciness, ranging from 0 to 10. I chose level 1 as I'm not a fan of very spicy food. The hot pot contained ingredients like garlic chives, leeks, Chinese cabbage, and fried tofu. The spiciness of the hot pot helped warm up the body and it was quite delicious. The plump beef hormone was as the name suggests, plump. Overall, the taste of the dishes was decent, the atmosphere was average, the service was okay, and the prices were reasonable.
