I tried yakiniku and hamburger for the first time at a yakiniku restaurant for lunch. Yakiniku restaurants are usually open for dinner, so for those who don't usually dine out at night, yakiniku may not be a common choice. Hiro-san has several stores in Kyoto, and I have had hamburg steak and chicken steak set at HIRO Kyoto Yodobashi store on the 6th floor of Kyoto Yodobashi during lunch. This time, we decided to visit Kyoto Nishiki, a place where you can enjoy both yakiniku and hamburgers. We were a party of two, and my partner wanted to try both hamburg steak and harami, so we ordered the upper thigh lean sliced lunch, harami lunch, and stone-cooked Japanese beef lunch. The staff was surprised by our order. All lunches come with salad, diced kimchi, wakame soup, and rice. You can choose from three sizes of rice - large, medium, or small - for the same price. Upper thigh lean sliced lunch (1,500 yen): I mainly had this. The thinly sliced lean meat was very tender, with a low fat content and a concentrated meaty flavor. It's easy to order from a wide range of people due to its low fat content. Harami lunch (1,000 yen): I shared this with my partner. It has more fat than the upper thigh, but it was not heavy on the stomach at all after eating. The meaty flavor was also concentrated, and it was tender and delicious. It seems that the gram weight is 100g when ordered individually, which is around 90g, and it might be a good idea to order the lunch set without hesitation if it's only about 30 yen more. Stone-cooked Japanese beef lunch (1,000 yen): My partner had this. I took a bite, and as expected from a meat restaurant, the meaty flavor is rich. It comes in a rare state, but my partner prefers it to be cooked well, so he grilled it a bit on the stove. It's amazing that the juices don't drip. In terms of quantity, the upper thigh is just right, but the hamburger and harami might be a bit small for an average man. If there are two men, it might be a good idea to order one more dish a la carte. In any case, Hiro's meat has never disappointed me, so I think it's quite a good deal to have lunch there.
