The first course of Hassun was all to my liking, with no misses and very delicious. Unfortunately, the counter seats right in front of the hearth were all taken. I would love to try eating there next time. The grilled fish was sahara, which was fluffy and extremely delicious. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I revisited this place because everything was so good last time. They were very flexible in accommodating a sudden addition of one person. The service here is top-notch. The dishes are still amazing starting from the first appetizer. The large peanuts and simmered hijiki seaweed go well with the drinks. The grilled shiitake mushrooms with cheese soy sauce, squid teppanyaki with salted fish roe, deep-fried conger eel, sakura shrimp cooked rice, everything was incredibly delicious until the end. I started with a highball from Tokonai, then enjoyed a variety of Japanese sake like Ippei Suisei, Kichou, Akabu, Karihashi, and finished with a refreshing lemon sour from Sakurao. The food, drinks, and service were all amazing. I can't wait to go back again soon. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is my third visit. Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popularity has returned significantly, and the counter seats were almost full. If you need a private room, advance reservation is required. The food is always delicious and generous. The staff's hospitality is also polite. The prices are reasonable for the deliciousness, so it has good cost performance. I recommend it for casual use.

The concept of this restaurant is to enjoy primitive grilled fish at an old boat landing. There are counters surrounded by charcoal fire and private rooms where you can relax and enjoy the primitive grilling at your own pace depending on your purpose. The free drink alcohol selection is quite extensive, especially the lineup of sake. The dishes starting from the appetizers are made with high-quality ingredients. The grilled blackthroat seaperch, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, is particularly noteworthy. The duck breast has a rich flavor, and I realized how much the flavor and taste can change depending on how it is grilled. The staff service is also pleasant, and this time I was able to relax and enjoy in a private room. Next time, I would like to try enjoying it while watching the charcoal fire at the counter.

I visited this restaurant with my university friends. It is located close to the main gate, which is very convenient. We visited without any prior information, but it turned out to be amazing. The atmosphere inside the restaurant, the quality and portion size of the food, and the variety of drinks were all fantastic. We started with highballs, which got us excited because they had Tokoname whiskey. Then we moved on to Japanese sake, including Akabu and Kanko. When we felt a bit tired of sake, we switched to Sakurao lemon sour. We enjoyed whiskey, sake, and gin, and left feeling very satisfied. The standout feature was the high level of customer service from the staff. Every staff member we interacted with provided excellent hospitality, making our dining experience very pleasant. I am confident that I will visit this restaurant again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. We used this restaurant for a family gathering, and they had private rooms and a great selection of drinks. The dishes had a nice charcoal flavor, and the grilled throat fish was especially delicious. We were very satisfied with everything. The prices are a bit high, but we would definitely like to use this restaurant again in the future!

During the pandemic, I was able to order a la carte when I visited once, but when I went recently, they only offered courses, which was a bit disappointing. However, the taste of the food and the service were outstanding. The robatayaki in particular was very delicious, and I would definitely like to visit again.

I have been to this place many times. This time, I visited with a friend from America. The set menu is definitely worth it. The building where the restaurant is located has nothing on the first floor, so it is easy to overlook. When meeting someone there for the first time, it is better to say it is next to Fukushin building.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday with friends. We ordered a light course, which was sufficient for our age group. The dishes were all delicious, and the selection of drinks was impressive, making us excited. We requested the grilled fish to be changed to nodoguro, and when we tasted it, all we could say was "mmm." The grilling and seasoning were perfect. The service was wonderful, attentive and made us feel great. It was nice to find a good restaurant after a long time. Since we had a private room this time, we plan to sit at the counter next time where we can see the irori (sunken hearth).

At a work New Year's party, we had to quickly find a restaurant and made a reservation for 6 people online. The location near Shinjuku station in a mixed-use building was a bit concerning, but when we opened the door, we found a calm and spacious atmosphere. We ordered a light course menu for around 5,500 yen, which included appetizers like assorted delicacies, grilled mushrooms, and grilled squid that went well with alcohol. We started with beer, but when we switched to sake, the alcohol went down even smoother. The service was very polite. There were a couple of private rooms, so it would be suitable for a casual meal as well. It seemed like the portion was a bit small for the older gentlemen, so next time, I would like to try a course with a bit more volume!

It takes time for the food to be brought to you, but it's crowded so it's understandable. The dishes are delicious, especially the seasoning. The portion size may be a bit high for the price, but considering the atmosphere and the friendly staff, it seems reasonable. I would like to visit again if I have the chance. ✨

Second time visiting this restaurant. The atmosphere is like a traditional inn and the food is incredibly delicious, making it my favorite place to eat! The ikura rice seemed a bit watery compared to last time, but everything else was perfect! The appetizer that comes out first is also too delicious. Definitely a restaurant I want to visit again!

On this day, I ordered a la carte. I came to eat the Ishiyaki dishes, but after trying a variety of them, I felt that the cost performance was a bit poor. I couldn't tell if it was a high-end restaurant just by looking at the interior. The taste was neither good nor bad. If I come back to Shinjuku, I would hesitate to visit again. I would only come back if the cost performance is better.

I was looking for a place to have dinner and came across this restaurant while searching. I realized I had never tried robatayaki before, so I decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was lovely and my expectations were high. I opted for the course menu, which was surprisingly affordable yet the dishes were all delicious. I was amazed by the quality of the robatayaki dishes. For the final course, they served a clay pot rice dish, and when I asked if I could pour the soup over it to make it like ochazuke, they kindly agreed. It turned out to be incredibly delicious! They also had a lemon sour drink that I had never tried before, and it was very enjoyable. This restaurant offers great value for money, and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

"Primitive grilling fire pit" Shinjuku Nishiguchi Robata izakaya The interior of the restaurant is dimly lit with a calm atmosphere. There are private rooms available, and the counter surrounds a hearth where you can watch the robatayaki being cooked right in front of you. There were many menu items that seemed to cater to those who enjoy drinking sake, but we decided to order a la carte. The assorted appetizers were amazing! Each person receives a luxurious appetizer dish as a starter, which was a pleasant surprise. It was great to be able to try a variety of different dishes while enjoying some drinks. I particularly enjoyed the deep-fried white shrimp, child-bearing kombu, and silver cod, as I already liked those ingredients. Since it is a robatayaki restaurant, the silver cod was especially delicious. Robatayaki is a traditional Japanese grilling method where ingredients are skewered and cooked over charcoal, resulting in a crispy exterior and juicy interior. The assorted appetizers included: silver cod, marinated in Saikyo miso, deep-fried white shrimp, asparagus with cheese, soy sauce-marinated salmon roe, fried spring rolls, lotus root, shichimi soy sauce, thick-cut child-bearing kombu pickles, and sweet potato tempura.

Original Grilled Hibachi Restaurant Review 3.17 (7 reviews) Located a 2-3 minute walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit, on the 2nd floor of a mixed-use building, "Original Grilled Hibachi" offers a space that feels like a time slip away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. It is said to be a part of a successful series of restaurants. I made a reservation for a Saturday night and was greeted by a lovely hostess in a kimono upon opening the door. I was seated at the counter and the course I had requested during the reservation began. The course includes "Original Grilled" cooked in a large hearth, as well as authentic Japanese cuisine using seasonal ingredients. ~Omakase Course 9 items with all-you-can-drink for 8000 yen~ First, a toast with a draft beer. - Hors d'oeuvre Women love delicious things in small portions, right? I also love hors d'oeuvres! Starting with Rausu kelp broth, the careful work of the artisans can be seen in the varying tastes, sweetness, saltiness, and flavors. It was a delightful hors d'oeuvre. - Charcoal-grilled Vegetables and Eel Wrapped in Seaweed The impactful seaweed-wrapped eel can be picked up and eaten as is! A unique dish with enjoyable combinations of ingredients, flavors, and textures. Switched to homemade lemon sour for drinks. - Cold Dish Fresh fish of the day with Koshosu jelly A refreshing appetizer with a tangy taste that was perfect after the eel wrapped in seaweed. It was delicious and helped reset the palate. - Special Dish of the Day Grilled Squid Innards I was debating whether to order this from the menu, but it was included in the course! How delightful! Grilled squid innards cooked over a charcoal brazier can be eaten raw, but the best time is when the moisture of the squid is gone and the liver is concentrated! It was incredibly delicious! Makes you want some sake! - Fresh Fish of the Day Thickly sliced grilled yellowtail The premium yellowtail was grilled slowly over charcoal, resulting in a juicy and flavorful fish. Grilling over charcoal allows the heat to penetrate deep into the fibers, making the flesh plump. The crackling sound of the charcoal during grilling was pleasant. The thick cut and perfect seasoning were excellent. The grated daikon radish served with it was a great match. - Seasonal Warm Vegetables Smelt and taro sprout tempura The crispy tempura with a perfect amount of salt was very delicious. Switched to Yuzu sake soda for drinks. - Chef's Choice Appetizer Fresh ankimo (monkfish liver) with ponzu sauce Fresh ankimo with no unpleasant smell and a ponzu sauce. A refreshing palate cleanser. - Seasonal Clay Pot Rice For an additional 980 yen, changed to salmon roe and snow crab clay pot rice. When the chef opened the lid in front of us, the scent of snow crab wafted through the air. We mixed and shared it. It was filled with plenty of salmon roe and snow crab meat... Ah, so happy! - Dessert Matcha and matcha pudding I didn't expect to have freshly whisked matcha for dessert, so my excitement went up! A smooth and delicious dessert. I was completely satisfied with the course at Hibachi until the end. Additional order: - Fresh Oysters Fresh, firm, and creamy! I love them, so I was delighted! "Grilled fish as enjoyed in a traditional Japanese restaurant" is the concept of "Original Grilled Hibachi." Original grilling is a primitive grilling method that has been passed down since ancient times. By removing excess oil and moisture, the surface becomes crispy, while the inside remains fluffy, allowing the fish to be enjoyed deliciously. The tranquility and slightly dim lighting at Hibachi, without the use of background music, allows you to enjoy the warmth and sound of charcoal, making it suitable for dates and entertaining. It was a perfect place for those who want to spend a quiet and delicious adult time. Thank you for the meal! Actually, on this day, I went to Nogomi no Yu in Ogikubo on my way back. A drink by the hearth from the open-air bath. It was amazing! Address: 7-9-13 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Ishikawa Building 2F Phone: 050-5868-6830 Closed: New Year's holidays Business hours: 17:00-23:00 Other: Reservations accepted, Credit cards accepted, No electronic money, Not wheelchair accessible, Baby strollers need confirmation, Small elevator available.

Located in a mixed-used building about 5 minutes from Shinjuku Nishiguchi, this restaurant offers a cozy Japanese atmosphere. Upon entering, you are greeted with a welcoming space featuring a counter and private rooms. We were guided to a private room where we started with an appetizer platter and beer. We also ordered sashimi and fried white shrimp to go with our sake. The dishes were all delicious and beautifully presented. The Ishigaki clam in the sashimi had a sweet flavor and a good texture, which was particularly tasty. The total bill for two of us was around 18,000 yen, so not exactly cheap, but it could be a good option for a date or special occasion.

First visit after relocating. The interior is still cozy with a counter surrounding a hearth. Ordered the 5500 yen course. Had 8 dishes, sashimi was bonito, grilled vegetables were lotus root and shishito peppers, grilled squid innards, fish was sea bass, tempura was oysters, eggplant, and okra, rice with octopus and shiso, dessert with matcha and matcha pudding. All dishes were delicious and satisfying. The sea bass was especially good. Wanted to try the meat as well but was too full, so maybe next time. A recommended hidden gem of a restaurant.

A small hidden gem located in a dining district heading towards Kotakibashi from Shinjuku Station. While the previous page mentioned a relocation, it seems like the shops in this building have been shuffled around with affiliated stores. The signboard indicates both Hibachi-san and a related shop (Kan Agari-san?), causing some confusion about whether this is the right place. However, upon opening the wooden door, all the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku quickly fades away, transporting customers to a charming and cozy ryokan-like dining experience. The staff are attentive and provide excellent recommendations for drinks, showcasing their extensive knowledge. I opted for wine from Maruki Wine, which was available by the glass, and also tried some local wines from Naka-Izu as well as shifting to sake later on. The staff even allowed me to taste the Naka-Izu wine they recommended, showing their meticulous service. The atmosphere was so relaxing that it made me wonder when was the last time I had such a leisurely dining experience outside. It felt like being at a traditional inn in Izu or Hakone, with attentive staff serving delicious meals. I would love to visit this place again when I want to relive the feeling of a short Tokyo trip. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This time, I went to a restaurant called Genshiyaki Hibachi, which offers a relaxing space that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city, where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch while following the seasonal ingredients. They have recently started serving lunch, so I went there immediately. [Interior] When you open the door, you are greeted by a warm, cozy atmosphere resembling an old folk house. The antique wooden interior features a hearth in the back. The counter seats around the hearth are equipped with partitions to ensure physical distancing between customers, showing that they are taking proper measures against COVID-19. It's truly a bliss to forget the noise of the city and enjoy a leisurely lunch while gazing at the hearth! There are private rooms at the back of the restaurant, which are quite convenient during this time to avoid contact with other customers. [Lunch Menu] All prices include tax. - Seafood bowl 980 yen - Daily special set meal 980 yen - Simmered fish set meal 1,200 yen - Tempura set meal 1,500 yen - Wagyu sirloin set meal 2,000 yen Except for the seafood bowl, all set meals come with sashimi. This time, I ordered the most popular "Tempura set meal." [Tempura Set Meal] After placing the order, sashimi, appetizer, and pickles were served. The sashimi consisted of amberjack, striped jack, and sea bass, all fresh and delicious. The appetizer with a rich and flavorful broth brings out the goodness of the ingredients, making it very tasty! The clam miso soup harmoniously combines the flavor of the clam with the broth, leaving a delightful taste in your heart. After a 10-minute wait, the tempura arrived! A variety of colorful vegetables were neatly arranged, including red eggplant, sweet red peppers, mountain vegetables, snow peas, and pumpkin. The seafood included shrimp, smelt, and other seasonal ingredients. Starting with the large shrimp, the crispy coating and juicy shrimp made for a very delicious bite! The tempura allows you to taste the flavors of the season and experience the season through your senses. Seasonal ingredients are rich in nutrients and substances that the body needs at that time. [Matcha and Matcha Pudding] For a post-meal treat, I enjoyed some matcha tea and a homemade matcha pudding. Both were incredibly delicious! The transition of the seasons combined with the taste of matcha and the sweetness of the dessert brought an indescribable sense of happiness! The atmosphere of the restaurant, the hospitality of the staff, and the feeling of wabi-sabi made me truly appreciate the experience! Thank you for the delicious meal. I have introduced Genshiyaki Hibachi on my blog. Please take a look! ↓ ↓ ↓ https://silkorz.com/2021/02/01/genshiyaki_hibachi/
