I arrived at Katsudon Chiyomatsu Dotonbori Main Store around 11:30 to avoid lining up, but to my surprise, there was a huge line with over 40 people waiting! Most of them were Korean tourists with suitcases. It seems like this place has become extremely popular among Koreans recently, probably due to influencers recommending it. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to wait in that long line. So, I decided to walk a few minutes and found a steak restaurant called "0°C Aged Steak" with a tempting menu of thick-cut pork loin and thick-cut tenderloin. Luckily, there were seats available, and I chose a table seat. I ordered the thick-cut tenderloin set for 1680 yen. The dish arrived, and indeed, the tenderloin was thick, over 2.5 centimeters. The meat was tender with a nice texture, and the flavor was delicious. The miso soup served with it was also tasty. Considering the quality and the current situation of rising cooking oil prices, the price seemed reasonable. Overall, it was a satisfying experience at this unexpected restaurant.

The Sakura Pork Katsudon for ¥15,800 is made with aged pork cutlet served half on the bowl. It comes with miso soup and pickles. Although sauce and salt are provided for the cutlet, I didn't feel the need for them as it's not served with white rice. I visited a shop that handles aged beef, pork, and chicken, with the intention of trying the Maizakura pork cutlet bowl, which can be enjoyed as both a tonkatsu and a katsudon. The shop is relatively small but easy to enter as it was not crowded. The katsudon made with Maizakura pork cutlet and Ranohime pork was beautifully presented as expected. The cutlets were plentiful even inside the egg and the cutlet wall that pierced deep into the bowl had a slightly pink color. I usually prefer tonkatsu with salt, but the rich flavor of the Ranohime egg and cutlet bowl made me feel that soy sauce and mustard were the best condiments for this dish. The miso soup that came with the set had plenty of large pieces of pork which was very satisfying. Overall, both the taste and portion of the katsudon were excellent, leaving a high level of satisfaction.

It's a 4-minute walk from Namba Station. I arrived at the restaurant at 12:00. The main dish is steak, but they also offer tonkatsu, hamburgers, and other menu items. There was no line outside, and I was seated at a table after disinfecting my hands and getting my temperature checked. I ordered the Katsudon with Kagoshima's "Maizakura Pork" in a large portion, even though it wasn't on the menu, they allowed it at no extra charge. The meal was served with salt, special sauce, and ponzu for seasoning. The katsudon was beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
