I visited for the first time on February 4th, and stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. I was on a business trip in Rumoi from this day. Sapporo had 25cm of snow in 24 hours from the early morning of the previous day (I think my area had over 30cm), but Rumoi, located on the Sea of Japan side, is an area where strong winds and blizzards are common. During the journey from Sapporo to Rumoi, I encountered a whiteout where I could only see a few meters ahead after entering the Fukagawa Rumoi Expressway, and I felt fear for the first time in a long time. (((;゚Д゚))) The hotel I stayed at this time is "Hotel Kami-iwa," which exudes a Showa-era nostalgia. The facilities inside the hotel are old, but I warmed up from the core of my body in the lukewarm hot spring. I had reserved a plan that included dinner, which was served in the dining hall, but I wanted to relax in the bath before dinner, so I asked for dinner at 7:30 pm. I was told that the dining hall is open until 8:00 pm, so I wouldn't be able to eat slowly, and they kindly offered to bring the meal to my room. Thank you very much. m(_ _)m On the 2nd and 3rd nights, I was able to return to the hotel around 6:00 pm, so I requested dinner at 7:00 pm and had dinner in the dining hall. Since I was using it for business, I didn't mind much, but even for consecutive nights, the dinner menu remained the same: sashimi, tempura, grilled or simmered fish, simmered dish, hot pot in place of soup, pickles, rice. It's the basic of Japanese cuisine, but I particularly got tired of tempura every day. (^_^;) As for breakfast, it was a buffet-style Japanese meal, and it seems that the photos and menu of Hotel Kami-iwa posted by the first reviewer have not changed. (lol) Also, at this hotel, there are no slippers after taking off your shoes at the entrance and putting them in the shoebox. The entire hotel is covered with carpets that are not very elastic, so I think many people spend time in their rooms barefoot after changing clothes, but the carpets are stiff and difficult to walk on, and I wonder if people with cleanliness concerns would dislike it? (3 nights with 2 meals included, Japanese-style room, toilet but no bath, no internet environment in the room, 7,000 yen including tax per night) #RumoiBusinessTrip #HotelKami-iwa #HeartwarmingGesture #RumoiWinterIsHarsh #Whiteout
