It's been a while since I visited Joyful! I used to rely on it a lot during my student days and work, but recently I haven't been going even to Joyful due to the current situation (*´･ω･) I was so excited for this meeting at Joyful that I was looking forward to it from the day before! I was researching what to eat and came across good reviews of a limited-time hamburger dish created by YouTuber Hikaru, which caught my interest. So, I decided on this menu for the day! On the day itself, I hesitated when looking at the menu, but I stuck to my decision...!! It was a slightly bigger hamburger than the regular one, topped with black curry, honey mustard, and cheese. Eating them together was quite delicious (^-^) It wasn't extremely delicious, but I was satisfied and considering the price, which includes rice refills, it was worth it. I still remember vividly when Joyful was facing a management crisis last year, I went on a Joyful tour (mostly day drinking) in the outskirts of Miyazaki City. Until the obligation to implement passive smoking measures on April 1st this year, there was always a smoking area, which was much appreciated by me as a baby smoker. By the way, the founder of Joyful's eldest son, Yoichi Anamizu, is a member of the "Mokumoku-kai" aimed at protecting the rights of smokers. It must be tough for him in the public eye. Today, I visited the restaurant alone on my way back after sending a friend to the airport. The parking lot shared with Cosmos and Nishimatsuya is surprisingly large. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry. Don't underestimate the curry at family restaurants, Joyful's curry has a good reputation (at least for me). I'm curious about the "NEW" label on it. The curry arrived in about 10 minutes. "Hmm, something seems different!?" First, the visual, the color of the curry is slightly lighter. Looking at past logs (November 2019), the menu name was different (see photo). It used to be "Tonkatsu Beef Curry". The price has also decreased, but the richness and umami flavor seem to have weakened. The cutlet is still delicious as before. Well, it's delicious, but the "very delicious cutlet curry" has dropped to a "normally delicious cutlet curry" in terms of ranking. Many Joyful restaurants in the past logs are marked as "closed". After finishing my night shift, I felt hungry so I went to a family restaurant for the first time in a while. I tried Hikaru-san's seriously delicious beef yakiniku set and a 9-piece fried chicken set. The staff was an elderly lady, but she was very attentive and it lifted my spirits.
