Today's lunch was decided to be pork bowl, so I searched for it and found Tonbi-san. At first glance, I thought it was a store, but when I opened the door, it seemed like someone's house. I was a little suspicious, but that feeling quickly disappeared because the pork bowl was delicious! The rich yet moderately sweet sauce with tender pork belly and loin mixed together made me finish it in no time. Repeat visit confirmed. Pork bowl mix ¥880, Cabbage topping (separate dish) ¥100.

I went to "Tonbi," a charcoal-grilled pork rice bowl restaurant located along Nishi 1-jo Street in Obihiro City. The interior of the restaurant feels like a normal house, where you take off your shoes before entering. The tables are like school desks, with regular tables and raised seating areas. The menu offers pork bowls and pork plates, with options for different meat and rice quantities. I chose the regular pork bowl (mixed) with Nameko mushroom soup, and it was delicious with various cuts of meat and a smoky flavor from the charcoal grilling. I want to try the large pork bowl next time. When I arrived, there were no other customers, but later several people came in for takeout, showing that it's a popular spot. The friendly service left a good impression, and I definitely want to go back for more.

Today is going to be hot again. I finished my shopping in the morning and went to eat pork bowl. The pork bowl restaurant is not very noticeable, but there were already 7 customers at 11:30. It seems quite crowded. I ordered the "Mixed Pork Bowl" and "Miso Soup with Wakame". The miso soup is not included in the set. The food arrived in 5 minutes. The pork in the pork bowl has a nice crispy texture on the outside. The seasoning is slightly strong and the burnt flavor of the sauce is delicious. There is no unpleasant smell and the fatty parts are sweet. The meat is a bit thin, especially the loin, which tastes a bit lighter compared to the belly. Maybe it's because of the fatty parts? The miso soup is served hot with small diced tofu. The seasoning is mild and doesn't overpower the pork bowl. Despite being located in a quiet residential area, this restaurant is always busy with customers. It's a hidden gem. The only downside is that you have to take off your shoes before entering the restaurant. I felt a bit embarrassed walking in barefoot (laughs).

When visiting Obihiro, it was inevitable to make a stop at "Butadon Tonda". This time, feeling a bit adventurous, I opted for the "Charcoal-grilled Pork Bowl at Tonbi". It was a hot day in mid-May in Obihiro, and I wiped off the sweat as I walked from the station. The restaurant opens at 11:00, and I was the first customer at 11:30. The place had a homely feel, like visiting a friend's house, and even those who came in later seemed a bit hesitant. Before I knew it, the place was packed. The husband and wife running the place were very friendly and welcoming. Normally I would go for the pork bowl, but this time I decided to have the rice and pork (sliced pork on a plate) separately, and also ordered the miso soup with enoki mushrooms. The rice was 150 yen, the sliced pork 880 yen, and the miso soup 100 yen. The pork was grilled on a hot plate. This place is definitely a popular spot. It was a lunch with a generous portion.

The shop has a cozy, homey feel with a house-like exterior. They offer pork bowl with a choice of loin, belly, or a mix of both. I went with the mix and found both the loin and belly to be delicious. The sauce for the pork bowl is rich and flavorful, and they provide additional sauce and sansho pepper on the table for customization. The portion size and taste were both very satisfying.

Pork bowl mix with butter onsen egg topping (980 yen). The meat in the pork bowl was a bit thin, but there were plenty of slices, so it was satisfying. The fatty delicious pork belly and chewy loin were both enjoyable, each with its own unique flavor. The idea of adding butter was interesting and kind of unconventional, but surprisingly tasty. The location of the restaurant is a bit hard to find, as it looks like a regular house from the outside. Once inside, it feels like dining at a friend's house. The owners were friendly and welcoming, making it a cozy and homey dining experience!

After finishing a meeting in Kushiro, before heading back to Obihiro, I thought about having lunch at an Indian curry place, but I really wanted to eat a proper pork bowl, so I decided to try a new restaurant called Tonbi. The menu offers pork bowl and you can choose from loin, belly, or a mix of both. I wanted to try both, so I chose the mix. The pork was a bit bigger than usual, wrapped in rice, and tasted delicious. It definitely felt like an Obihiro pork bowl. Yesterday's meal at Sekoma was a bit disappointing, but this one was a relief. Overall, the taste is on par with famous restaurants in Obihiro. Since the restaurant is like home, I took off my shoes at the entrance and ate in the dining kitchen. It was an interesting and satisfying end to the meal.

In Obihiro, try the pork bowl! Delicious... The menu at the restaurant is simple, offering only pork bowls, miso soup, and drinks. You can choose the type and amount of meat for your pork bowl. "Tonbi" is located in a residential area about a 10-minute drive from Obihiro Station. Despite its difficult-to-find location, many people visit this popular restaurant to enjoy the delicious pork bowl topped with a secret sauce passed down from the owner's grandmother.

The shop, which is a renovated detached house in a residential street, has a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to drop by. Both the male and female staff members provided excellent service, making the visit enjoyable. I ordered the Pork Bowl Mix - Large Pork. I was initially surprised by the thin slices of meat, but there was a generous amount, so it was actually quite satisfying. The sauce was also delicious. I chose the option of miso soup with mushrooms, and it was a great decision. I always find that shops offering miso soup as an option serve tasty miso soup, so I recommend ordering it!

When you think of Obihiro, you think of pork bowl, right? So this time, I visited Tonbi for the first time. It seems to be run by a family, and it's a very friendly place. The meat is marinated in sauce, very tender, and although the slices are thin, there is a lot of meat in the bowl. After finishing the meal, we paid and left the restaurant, but since it's quite far from our home and we can't come often, we asked for a takeout. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. We will visit again.

I'm in Obihiro for a day trip. Due to the recent pandemic, people don't like it when I come from Sapporo, so I can't stay long or have meals with others (≧∇≦) I can only eat lunch with people. I don't have much time, so for this revisit, I decided to come to "Tonbi" where I had a delicious meal before. Last time I had the pork bowl, so this time I opted for the plate dish. Pork Plate Mix Large Pork 1,100 yen tax included. Considering the pork bowl situation in Obihiro, it's really cheap, right? I'm impressed as I enjoy it ♫ When you order the pork plate, the sauce comes separately, so you can adjust the amount you put on the meat, which is nice. First, I prepare by adding plenty of mayonnaise and pork bowl sauce to the shredded cabbage as a hidden flavor! I pour plenty of sauce over the pork meat. A little sprinkle of sansho pepper. I place the hot meat on the steaming rice, allowing the sauce to blend with the rice, and as soon as the sauce soaks in, I bring it to my mouth! Ah, happiness ♫ (*´∀`*) The key is to turn the part with the sansho pepper facing down! It's the same when eating eel rice bowls, the sansho pepper should be in between! A bowl is good, but a plate is good too! I should have gone for the Super Large Pork for 1,500 yen (≧∇≦) Thank you for the meal ^_^

I'm sorry for the old review... it was from last year. Please check the current operating status before visiting. If you come all the way to Obihiro, you should try the "pork bowl"! So, I went to this place that I hadn't visited before. When I arrived, the exterior looked like a normal house. Even when I opened the door, it still felt like a house... I took off my shoes and went inside, and it was just like a regular living room and dining room in a house, haha. The pork bowl (mixed pork) costs 750 yen including tax. The portion of pork was on the smaller side. It was a mix of belly and loin. It arrived in about 20 minutes. The sauce had a light sweetness and a strong soy sauce flavor, which I like. The meat was a bit tough though. The rice was cooked just right. Even though it was mixed pork, it was a bit too much for me. The service at the checkout was extremely polite, which made me want to give them extra points for their service, haha. I've been to a few pork bowl restaurants, but even the super famous "Panchou" seems to have moved since I last visited, and I haven't been to "Butahage" yet... I hope to travel to Obihiro again once the situation with the coronavirus settles down. ===========

It's cool and comfortable here. The pork bowl with pork belly is ¥750 and quite delicious. The charcoal-grilled eel is also good. The atmosphere of this place is nice, with a cozy and welcoming feeling. The service is friendly and the overall experience is impressive. Highly recommended!

Tonbi, a hawk, is clumsy when it comes to flying because it takes time for it to take off, especially when it has to make a circle first. I once collided with it twice because it's so big. I didn't plan on sharing this, but when I came to Obihiro, it became a must to get a takeout of pork bowl. I specialize in pork belly, so finding a restaurant was quite challenging, but I found "Tonbi". I decided to call them, and a very friendly guy answered the phone. He didn't even ask for my name but took my order. I felt like evaluating him without meeting him, and he seemed like a nice person. It's a residential house where you have to take off your shoes. I found it bothersome to take off my shoes, so I called out from the entrance, but I should have gone inside and taken a picture. The guy inside seemed very humble. Is that all? I thought. I don't think anyone would feel uncomfortable with his attitude. He's just a nice person. The container deposit costs 50 yen on top of the 930 yen for the meal. I wish I could have seen the inside of the new house. The pork seemed overcooked, almost burnt, and the meat was thin and unimpressive. The flavor was too strong, and I couldn't understand why my wife poured so much sauce on it. The marinating culture in Obihiro is evident in this dish. The sauce was thick, but I still want to support this restaurant. I believe the food will taste better as the restaurant gains more customers. They might use better quality meat and adjust the seasoning. Keep up the good work!

The Sunday drama "Tonbi" in October 2019 was so touching~(*´∀`)♪ I cried every time in front of the TV (>_<) I watched it while having a can of beer and eating Tonbi beef in my underwear after taking a bath, just kidding! (laughs) So, it's "Tonbi" here. On this day, I left Sapporo early in the morning and came to Obihiro via Okhotsk. I didn't know what time I would arrive in Obihiro, so I told my wife's parents that I didn't need dinner. A precious opportunity for a food log chance!! (laughs) I take off my shoes at the entrance and enter the store. The interior of the store is like a private house. The pork bowl is 880 yen. You can choose from loin, belly, or mix for the meat, but I chose belly. Oh! The sauce is sweet and salty, which I really like~♫ The meat is juicy and delicious with fat. Apart from the fact that the rice is a bit less, I am very satisfied♪ For those with small appetites, I think it's better to go for a large serving or more when ordering to be satisfied (*´ω`*)

I visited Tonbi-san, a charcoal-grilled pork bowl restaurant for the first time! I found out about this place through a review by Holy Papa. It's a place I rarely pass by on West 1st Street, so I was surprised to find a pork bowl restaurant here. As a local, I had to try it out. It was just before noon, so I was the first customer. When I opened the door, I was greeted warmly by the couple who run the place. They were very friendly and welcoming. The menu offered a choice of loin, belly, or a mix. I chose the mix, which was priced at 880 yen for a regular size. I didn't add miso soup, which was available for an additional 100 yen. The food was ready in 6-7 minutes. The appearance suggested a rich flavor, but it wasn't overpowering. The meat was thinly sliced, and the belly was especially delicious. It had just the right amount of fat, enhancing the flavor. The seasoning was perfect, not too strong. The pickles were also tasty. I couldn't resist ordering miso soup in the end. The rice was cooked just right, with each grain delicious. The portion size was a bit small, but the pork bowl was undeniably delicious. This place is definitely a hidden gem. I highly recommend trying their pork bowl. Thank you for the delicious meal, Tonbi-san! This marks the end of my journey through pork bowl restaurants in Obihiro. Will this be the last one?

Today is the last day of my 10-day holiday, so I decided to try a famous dish in Obihiro. I went to Tonbi, a charcoal-grilled pork bowl restaurant, a little before 11 o'clock. There were no customers before or after me. The exterior of the restaurant looks like a renovated house, and the interior also has a homey feel. There are two 2-person tables, one 4-person table, and two 4-person tables in a slightly raised area. The menu specializes in pork bowls and pork dishes. I ordered the large pork bowl (mixed) for 1,100 yen (tax included), and it arrived in about 7-8 minutes. The smell of charcoal is enticing, and even though the meat is a bit thin, it is well-marinated and has a delicious charred aroma. The rice is freshly cooked and tasty. Personally, I prefer thicker cuts of meat with more fat, and it would have been nice to have some miso on the side (laughs). Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

This is Obihiro. Upon arrival, the first thing to do is have lunch! When on a business trip, the first meal sets the tone for the rest of the trip, so the initial choice is important. When in Obihiro, should I go for pork bowl or Indian curry? When I asked my subordinates, they immediately said pork bowl. So, let's start with a pork bowl! I decided to go to "Tonbi", a place I had bookmarked. It is located in a residential area. The entrance looked like a normal 4LDK house. There was a sign, so I knew I was at the right place. You have to take off your shoes at the entrance and enter the living room on the right. There was a vegetable sale at the entrance. Inside, there was a 6-tatami mat room with two 4-5 person traditional Japanese tables and two 4-person Western tables. It had a homely and nice atmosphere. Even if they decide to stop business, it could easily be turned into a regular residential house. This concept can be useful! I ordered the extra-large pork bowl with a mix of pork loin and belly for 1,500 yen. It took about 15 minutes for the dish to arrive. It was served in a big portion! Just by looking at the size of the miso soup, you can tell it's the extra-large serving. It wasn't a challenge for big eaters, so it was just the right amount to eat when you're hungry. First, the miso soup. It was delicious and had a homey taste! The silky tofu and nameko mushrooms were delicious! I haven't thought miso soup was this delicious in a while! Now, the pork bowl. The pork belly was juicy with fat, and the pork loin conveyed the deliciousness of the pork well. You could add more sauce according to your preference, and it had just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness. The rice was shiny and delicious, and this pork bowl had a high level of completion. I was very satisfied! I will definitely come back! Thank you for the meal! This was my 19th review of the year, with 11 bowl ramen, 3 soba, and 5 rice dishes.

I visited Obihiro on a trip. When you think of Obihiro, you think of pork bowl. I had pork bowl the day before at a convenience store or takeout, but I decided to try it at a restaurant this time. It was very delicious with a secret sauce and charcoal grilling. The pork miso soup was also delicious and served generously.

Set the navigation and headed to the restaurant. It was located in a residential area. There were parking spaces for about 3-4 cars in front of the store. I went inside and sat at a table. I ordered the pork bowl with a mix of pork belly and pork loin, along with miso soup. The pork bowl was delicious (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) I was full and satisfied.
