I bought a Mont Blanc cake and freshly baked Country Ma'am cookies to go. The Mont Blanc had a thick tart crust, but the chestnut flavor was strong and delicious. The shortcake had a nice balance of sweetness in the cream and was delicious. Next time, I want to try the soft serve ice cream.

After enjoying Hanamaru Sushi, I thought about having a light coffee, but ended up choosing a parfait after all. My child had a drink with mango, carbonated water, and berries, while I had a coffee float. The place was quite busy, but we got seated within about 5 minutes after writing down our names. From our waiting area, we could see them making pancakes and other treats inside. They had a sweet chocolate sauce that reminded me of something I used to eat a lot in the past, a bit different from what you'd find at Jonathan's. Before that, I also bought some Cornets from KUNIYANE, so today was all about indulging in sweet treats. It was pure bliss, but now I'm worried about my upcoming health check-up. There's a store on the first floor where you can buy cakes and pastries from Fujiya, so I sometimes stop by there too. I ate so much today, it was amazing. Cheers!

This time, I purchased a Savarin, an Apple Pie, and a Mont Blanc. The Apple Pie was a light type that made good use of the apple ingredients. It was crispy and delicious. The Savarin was a more traditional type, with plenty of rum, and it was easy to eat in one go. The Mont Blanc had a lot of sponge part, which left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. I always wish they would turn the sponge part into cream. The variety of items in this shop makes me want to try more and more. It's a shame that I don't have the money or stomach to try all the different kinds. I always feel bad about giving stars based on just trying a few items. Most bread and pastries in shops are generally delicious. People probably give 1 or 2 stars when their expectations are not met, whether it's not as good as the price, not worth the long line, a drop in quality from previous visits, or unsatisfactory service. 5 stars may be given when expectations are exceeded. In reality, most shop items seem to fall between 3 or 4 stars. It's hard to compare items, especially Apple Pies. But Mont Blancs might be easier to compare. I think all shops have very delicious items. I feel bad giving stars based on just trying a few items.

I like cute things, so even though I know the taste is not the best, I find myself drawn to this place regularly. In January 2021, I stopped by a cute window display and was intrigued by the Daruma-shaped snacks, but I didn't buy them. This time, I had a bit of extra time, so I decided to do some regular observation. I saw some new sweets lined up, which I had never seen before. The one I tried was the following: Original Butter Sandwich 5 pieces for 1080 yen. It includes roasted chestnut, Camembert cheese, high cacao chocolate, Amaou strawberries, and vanilla flavors. I had it at home with a cup of milk tea. After trying one, I regretted not buying a couple more separately. Even though they claim to use high cacao, Amaou strawberries, and Madagascar vanilla beans, the cookie part was not that great... There are two in each pack, so it lacks convincing power. I hope the company considers what customers are looking for in the future.

I bought a premium strawberry shortcake for a friend's birthday. It had a luxurious name, but it was just okay. It's almost the end of the year, so the cake was decorated for Christmas. The cake was neither outstanding nor disappointing, just average. There was a long line at the nearby famous lottery ticket vendor.

This is the number one store of a Western confectionery shop that celebrated its 112th anniversary this year. My friend told me that customers who purchase more than 1120 yen on this day will receive a commemorative item, so I decided to stop by while I was in Ginza. I lined up at the storefront and purchased the "Traditional Flavor Shortcake from Fujiya" for 640 yen including tax. This cake was released in January this year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Shortcake from Fujiya. The cake, which was recreated based on the old Fujiya Shortcake, was quite impressive with its sponge and cream. The whole strawberry sandwiched between the sponge layers, which cannot be seen from the outside, left a good impression. Inside the store, there were various Arita porcelain cups featuring Peko-chan and miscellaneous goods inspired by Fujiya sweets. My friend bought LOOK hand cream, but I decided to pass for now. I bought a coffee jelly and a pudding a la mode for 520 yen each from the adjacent sweets section before heading home. The coffee jelly I had was surprisingly elaborate, with sponge cake, caramel, coffee, and whipped cream layered from bottom to top. The caramel was sweet, but the coffee had a nice bitterness, making it surprisingly delicious. My friend enjoyed the nostalgic and classic taste of the pudding a la mode. Additionally, the goods my friend purchased were around 500 yen each, and we also got a 20% off coupon for the second-floor restaurant. I hope to use it before it expires.

Natsukashi Strawberry Hot Cake (648 yen). From May 22 to 31, a special cake called "Shortcake 12 Stories: Natsukashi Strawberry Hot Cake" was available at the popular restaurant Fujiya. This cake was part of the "Fujiya Shortcake 100th Anniversary Fair" where each month a different character is featured with a special shortcake inspired by their story. Last month's character was Shoko-tan, and the cake design was based on her two cats, Pink-chan and Chocola. The cake had a fluffy pancake-like sponge with a generous amount of custard cream, honey maple sauce, and strawberries on top. It aimed to evoke a nostalgic and heartwarming feeling. A portion of the sales from this cake was donated to support rescued cats. I was lucky to get one of the last two cakes available at the store. It was a cute and delicious cake that brought back fond memories. I also made a pendant using the paper craft that came with the cake. Looking forward to seeing which character will be featured in June!

Standing on the main street of Ginza, I had passed by this place many times but never actually went in. Today, I decided to stop by for the first time. I bought a rich tea milk crepe for ¥340 (supporting sweets for home time: usually ¥440). The cake box was easy to open, a thoughtful design by Fujiya. The cross-section of the milk crepe looked beautiful. It had a traditional, good level of sweetness. It was also quite large. I also purchased a butter sandwich with Amaou strawberries for ¥216. Although I noticed the freshly baked Country Ma'am cookies in the back, I opted for the butter sandwich instead. It was a buttery strawberry-colored sandwich, with a crispy and light cookie (be careful of crumbs). The face of Peko-chan was imprinted on it, and it had a shelf life of about 2 months, making it a good choice for a souvenir. I enjoyed it as a light snack.

I came to the Saryo Bridge store of Fujiya looking forward to eating freshly baked Country Ma'am cookies. I was able to purchase them around 2 pm on a weekday without waiting. The freshly baked Country Ma'am cookies (350 yen) come in a pack of 10. They are baked in the store, so they are limited to the store. I wonder if the Saryo Bridge store in Tokyo is the only one that sells them. Country Ma'am cookies are known for their crispy outside and moist inside, but the freshly baked ones have a different level of moistness compared to the ones sold in stores, which was quite interesting. They were delicious and I finished them all. I should have bought some store-bought ones to compare. I guess I have to go buy some more! Haha.

Your male preferences don't matter, but if it weren't for the Eio Tournament, I don't think I would have spent money at Fujiya. So, Korokoro Shiba-chan is the snack that Fujii-kun chose to eat at this year's Fujiya-hosted "Eio Tournament". I've been cheering for Fujii Sota Four Crowns because I like smart and eccentric men. I think it was back in middle school when I used to go to the restaurant on the second floor after watching a movie to have some cake. The sought-after Country Ma'am cookies were located at the back of the store. A pack of 10 freshly baked cookies cost ¥350. The cookies were crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside, really delicious. Considering the location in Ginza, the price felt very reasonable. They would make a great souvenir as they are sure to be appreciated more than ordinary snacks. Kids would definitely love them (my daughter certainly did). Since they are not individually sealed, the expiration date is around the same day or the next day. The staff at the store were very friendly, so I think I will buy them again when I visit Ginza. I visited the Fujiya store at Sukiyabashi. Although I had passed by the store many times before, it was my first time actually buying sweets there. Today, I purchased the "Peko-chan's Cheeks" with custard and chocolate. It is a soft and fluffy snack with Peko-chan's face imprinted in the center. Inside, there is custard cream and chocolate cream. The combination of the fluffy dough with the creamy custard and chocolate was delicious. The milky cream and soft dough blended perfectly, and it was very tasty. At ¥108 per piece, it was quite a good deal. The other cakes also looked delicious, so I would like to visit again.

They seem to use a different kind of cream for this premium dorayaki, which is only available at the Sukiya Hashiten store in Ginza. The combination of cream and red bean is really good at tickling the hearts of dorayaki lovers. What's amazing about this one is the three-layered skin. Skin → cream and red bean → skin → cream and red bean → skin. It's quite voluminous. The skin is soft and moist, with a nice sweetness on its own. The cream and red bean inside are truly the work of a dessert pro like Fujiya. The cream has a lovely sweetness to it. I love this cream. The red bean has a slightly textured, coarse ground type. The sweetness is mild. Personally, I really like the skin and cream, but I felt a bit lacking with the red bean. I prefer it a bit sweeter. It's definitely a sweet and happy snack. Fujiya is still all about the shortcake.

There is a place called "Kamado-dashi Country Ma'am," where they serve freshly baked cookies that are warm. It is only available at the Sukiyabashi store near Tokyo. I found out that the Sukiyabashi store is a 5-minute walk from Yurakucho Station, right across from Marion. It's a well-known store from the past, part of the Fujiya chain. I took the train to Yurakucho Station and easily found the Fujiya store at the intersection near Marion. I bought two bags of Kamado-dashi Country Ma'am cookies for 350 yen each, and they were delicious. I also discovered a new type of cookie with chocolate filling and bought some Butter Sandwich cookies as well. Everything I tried was tasty.

One sweet treat that I always crave daily is cake, and my favorite is the classic shortcake. I have researched and visited various shops, from small local ones to famous ones, in search of the perfect shortcake. There are also top 100 sweets shops that I haven't reviewed yet. The more I visit renowned shops, the more I realize that I can't seem to find my favorite one. When I was unsure of where to go next, my mentor told me, "What you love is often close by." So, I tried the shortcake at Cozy Corner near Hon-Atsugi Station, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Just like this time. Never forget your roots. Thank you, mentor. The answer was right nearby once again. In conclusion, the shortcake from Fujiiya is the best for me, although it's a personal preference. The Premium Shortcake has a strong sweetness in the cream, with a rich and bold flavor. It's sweet but not overwhelming. The cream makes you smile as you eat it. The sponge cake is moist and fluffy, with a ratio of 3:7, leaning towards the fluffy side. Surprisingly, the fluffy sponge cake pairs perfectly with the sweet cream. It has a nostalgic and comforting sweetness. While high-end cakes from boutique shops are lovely, I prefer the familiar deliciousness and sweetness of Fujiiya or Cozy Corner for shortcakes. Even though I have reached a conclusion, I still want to try different cakes to compare because it's fun. My mentor's taste is just unbeatable. Anti-Atsugi. Anchi-sensei.
