[Number of Reviews] Before starting to use this site, the owner of a yakitori restaurant once said, "Three years of skewering, a lifetime of grilling." I wonder if even this will eventually be taken over by AI (artificial intelligence). I chuckled at the thought. This time, after work, we decided to have a drink. So, we drove a bit to "Yakitori Daikichi Kurohara Store." I have been to this place a few times before, but this is my first review. Actually, this is my first time using this site since starting it. The restaurant is a bit far from the main JR station, but it's within a reasonable distance if you have a car. There are 3 parking spaces at the restaurant. The exterior is the familiar old-fashioned detached house style of Daikichi, and the interior has about 10 counter seats and 3 irregularly shaped tables, creating a cozy retro atmosphere with the typical Daikichi style. We arrived around 8 pm, and about 60% of the seats were already taken, showing how popular it was. Here is what we ordered:
- Crispy Cheese (300 yen): Cheese fried in a spring roll-like wrapper. My friend always enjoys this, but for me, it's just a side dish.
- Fried Chicken Cartilage (350 yen): Deep-fried chicken cartilage, a classic side dish.
- Chicken Rice (580 yen): A menu item I saw for the first time that day! I'm not sure how long it has been on the menu, but it was a debut! However, it didn't make it to my mouth, so here's a photo.
- Yakitori: We ordered various skewers such as scissors (120 yen), skin (120 yen), neck (120 yen), heart (120 yen), green onion banban (140 yen), shiso roll (140 yen), tear grilled (140 yen), chicken cheese (140 yen), genki grilled (140 yen), chicken onion mayo (140 yen), etc. Maybe we ordered a bit too much. When asked which one I like the most, I don't know what to say. There are only about 2 types of pork skewers, and the rest are all chicken! They offer different parts of the chicken, and you can enjoy the taste by choosing the toppings. My favorites are the green onion banban with green onions and salt sauce on the chicken, and the chicken cheese with cheese and spicy sauce on the heart and chicken meat.
- Egg Porridge (450 yen): A simple dish of chicken broth, rice, and egg. This is the final dish. I like to add some salt to it.
This yakitori restaurant is not the type where you can eat all the parts of the chicken skewers, but a place where you enjoy the taste through the toppings. There are several branches in the prefecture, and the system seems to support independence, with a uniform menu, price range, exterior, and interior. It is more of a casual izakaya, and I often use it for a casual drink. So, considering that, I hope you find my evaluation helpful. The prices are not cheap but not expensive either. However, for a casual drink, it's affordable and satisfying. Also, the beer at this place is always delicious. Thank you for the meal.
