I went to "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE CAFE LOUNGE Fukuoka Airport Store" located on the 3rd floor of Fukuoka Airport Domestic Terminal Building in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It was a gloomy weekend, and in the end, I decided to try the "alcohol plan" that I had been curious about, despite the rainy weather outside. The alcohol plan allows unlimited alcohol and normal drinks (soft drinks, snacks, pastries, etc.) for 1,200 yen per hour, with the option to extend for an additional 30 minutes for 30 minutes. Since I didn't have to drive back, it was a great option. I tried the "Asahi Super Dry" and a mysterious Tokyo craft beer called "TOKYO Sumidagawa Blue Peral Ale" (even though it's in Fukuoka, not Tokyo). The pouring of the beer was a bit tricky, and even the staff had trouble with it, leading to some spills and mishaps. Eventually, they fixed it, but they only had small cups for refills, which was a bit inconvenient. The snacks available were mostly sweet and didn't pair well with beer, except for some nuts. Overall, it seemed like it would have been better to just go to a regular bar for good beer. That's the end of my review!

I went to "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE CAFE LOUNGE Fukuoka Airport Store" located on the 3rd floor of Fukuoka Airport Domestic Terminal Building in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture! I used to frequent TSUTAYA for books and rental DVDs, but I have been using it less lately due to the rise of streaming services and e-books. The store has a space near the entrance for purchasing books, and a lounge space towards the back. The best part is the long counter seats at the end with a great view of the runway. It's quite popular, and there were already some trendy people there (laughs). Since I had some time before my flight to Nagoya, I made a reservation for a seat and course at the cafe. I checked in at a dedicated terminal in the middle of the store by scanning a QR code. Next, I entered the lounge. Soft drink plan: This time I chose this! Drinks and snacks are all-you-can-eat, with fast Wi-Fi, outlets, and USB ports available, making it very comfortable. There were various snacks, but I had a pretzel coated in chocolate and a milk pan & croissant (no picture, sorry). It was strawberry chocolate and peanut chocolate, I think? I wish they had simple salty pretzels too. The milk pan and croissant looked simple but tasted authentic! Especially the milk pan was delicious! For drinks, I had iced tea and a non-alcoholic beer. The non-alcoholic beer is hard to drink at room temperature, so make sure to add ice (laughs). Overall, there were many sweet options, so it would be nice to have some salty snacks that go well with alcohol, right? Alcohol plan: I couldn't use it this time as I had a rental car to pick up in about 3 hours, but I'll use it on the way back (laughs). Looking forward to enjoying an assortment of alcohol and craft beer! It's perfect for killing time before boarding. It's more relaxing than the airline lounge, don't you think?

TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE CAFE LOUNGE Fukuoka Airport Store
I arrived at Fukuoka Airport 1.5 hours before the departure time of my flight. Since I could check in online, I didn't need to go to the check-in counters for carry-on baggage only, so I decided to either look for souvenirs I had forgotten to buy or try some local Fukuoka food. I bought one souvenir, but I wasn't hungry, so I decided to spend time in the lounge. I haven't been to a credit card lounge for domestic or international travel in over 10 years. The service is good and it's relaxing, but for some reason, I stopped going. I then found out from the airport map that there is a paid lounge (CAFE LOUNGE) on the 3rd floor of the domestic terminal. It is located behind the bookstore, and you pay the hourly fee at the entrance to enter the lounge. From the lounge, you can overlook the entire airport and watch the planes taking off and landing. Since it's before the security check, you need to plan your time accordingly. Fukuoka Airport has two departure security checkpoints depending on the boarding gate, so be careful. 1-hour Non-Alcoholic Drink Plan: 990 yen (Regular plan 30 minutes for 660 yen, extension for 30 minutes for 330 yen) The fee varies depending on whether the drink is non-alcoholic or alcoholic. The lounge is spacious with 60 seats, and you can freely enjoy soft drinks, coffee, tea, and nuts. I sat at the counter seat by the window, set up Wi-Fi and power, listened to music, and read a paperback book I bought in the bookstore corner. I had an apple juice. I could see the observation deck on the 4th floor from the window. Since it was getting hot, I thought it would be better to watch the planes taking off and landing from here rather than from the observation deck. I was able to spend a leisurely time anticipating the security check and boarding time. I found a nice place.

I used the regular plan without waiting at 9:00 on Tuesday for 30 minutes for 660 yen. They offer free drinks and snacks, Wi-Fi and power outlets, a phone booth, and magazines and books for browsing. The variety of drinks was great and it was very convenient to use. I recommend it for killing time at Fukuoka Airport.

TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE CAFE at Fukuoka Airport is a lounge cafe where you can use it for 30 minutes starting from 550 yen, and you can also use it for the whole day. They offer free drinks, snacks, Wi-Fi, power outlets, and amenities like magazines. This cafe is conveniently located at the airport, making it a unique and useful spot. It opened in August 2020 at the domestic terminal building "Green Blue," with many food and beverage options on the third floor. The cafe has a bookstore vibe with a variety of snacks and drinks available, including unique items like nitro coffee. The seating is comfortable, with a nice view of planes taking off and landing. Overall, it's a great place to relax and enjoy some time before your flight or just to refresh yourself.
