"Hey, there's a place I want to go, wanna come?"
"Where?"
"Just behind the station."
"Oh, I heard something opened there recently."
"Well, let's go check it out."
And so, in the cold weather, we headed from the office to Kami Station. What's this place? Turns out, it's Marufuku Kami Store, just 5 seconds away from the south exit of Kami Station. It seems like the store opened on September 21st last year. It's quite spacious with tables, a counter, and even a standing drinking zone. It was crowded, so no photos from inside.
Drinks are all-you-can-drink for 980 yen! It says an extra 100 yen for draft beer, but if it's self-service, they won't charge extra. Pretty standard rule. So, cheers with my buddy! The menu looks like this, quite cheap, right? Because it's cheap, is the portion size small? The raw tuna sashimi is market price, which is interesting. So, here's the raw tuna sashimi. It was 580 yen on that day, but it came with 5 pieces, so it's good. There's something odd about the cross-section (laughs), but it was real tuna.
And here's the tuna steak. Quite a lot, right? How much was it? 280 yen!? So cheap! Seriously, 280 yen? It's a bit overcooked, but at this price for this amount, no complaints. The size is good, too, and a super bargain. The beef shabu-ponzu for 480 yen also has a good amount. The deep-fried smelt for 480 yen has a generous portion, too. With liquor also being all-you-can-drink, this is a really good place. The staff is very friendly, too. Maybe our company's party will be here. Having 5 draft beers each, eating all this, and only spending 4000 yen with some change back is truly wonderful. Found a great place. Will come back again. Thank you for the meal!
