The audience can feel the sensation of needles, fabric, and hands as if they were really there, capturing details that are not usually seen. I wanted to capture it in a way that you can see these details. Emotions can be conveyed through expressions and gazes, and feelings don't always need to be put into words. - Film director Mariam Touzani
I watched the movie "The Blue Caftan Tailor". Harim chooses to follow his own feelings rather than being bound by tradition. The fruits of tangerines that connect lives. Golden embroidery filled with the passion of the soul. It may not be the desired shape, but it is certainly a solid bond of the soul. Now, today I visited "Kappa Sushi Dotombori Ebisu Bridge Store" on the 5th floor of a building near Ebisu Bridge that opened on March 2, 2023. Despite hesitating due to the location being crowded, I decided to go in today. Contrary to my determination, I quickly took a seat at the designated counter. - Sushi plates on conveyor belt + Red miso soup with seaweed = 970 yen. The sushi is not rotating on a conveyor belt in a modern style. It is a self-order system using tablet terminals. The orders I placed this time are as follows: Hamachi, Engawa, Seasonal horse mackerel vinegared, Salmon large cut, Tuna simmered, Anago salad, Gunkan with red seaweed miso soup. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Well, I was surprised at how long it took from ordering to arrival. With not much of a crowd, I wonder how it would be during busy times. There were also several serving mistakes, which really made me worried. Let's strive on the path we take, and there will be no regrets in the end.

I went to Kappa Sushi in Dotonbori, Osaka Minami. It's located on the 5th floor of a building on the north side of the famous Glico sign bridge. The restaurant can be a bit hard to find. I went with a friend and we focused on sushi since we don't drink alcohol. We ordered various sushi dishes like fatty mackerel, live gizzard shad, sand dab nigiri, and gizzard shad. Since the incident, Kappa Sushi no longer provides pickled ginger on the table, so we had to order using the touch panel. They have a summer special menu with items like seared mackerel and extra-large corn sushi. We also tried dishes like bonito tataki, salmon, squid, clam salad, simmered eel, fresh octopus, tempura onion, inari sushi with pickled radish, natto roll, and cucumber roll. The total bill for two people was 2640 yen.

I went to this hidden gem in the central street. The entrance was really hard to find. There was no escalator in this building. Also, it seems like they are under construction because the elevator buttons are not lit up, so it's hard to tell if the elevator is working. Maybe that's why there were hardly any tourists, and it was really empty. Climbing up to the 5th floor by stairs was tough. It's a great hidden spot. Once inside the store, it had the usual clean and nice atmosphere. It seems like it will remain a hidden gem until the elevator is improved.

I visited during lunchtime on the weekend. I thought it would be crowded, but it was actually empty. There were plenty of empty tables, so I was seated right away. You check in using a machine and go to the table number displayed. It seems they had just opened, as the restaurant was clean. The dishes are cheaper compared to other places. You can pay using PayPay at the self-checkout machine.

In the past, going out to eat sushi used to be a special treat, with a sense of excitement as you enjoyed high-quality Japanese cuisine like sushi, tempura, or sukiyaki. However, with the introduction of conveyor belt sushi where plates are priced at 100 yen each, sushi has become a more casual and accessible option for everyday dining. Even chain restaurants like Kappa Sushi offer good quality sushi that is affordable and satisfying.
Recently, a new Kappa Sushi branch opened near Glico in Namba, Osaka. The restaurant features touch panel ordering system and high-speed conveyor belts for delivering dishes to your table. Due to rising costs, some sushi chains have increased their prices, but Kappa Sushi has managed to maintain a variety of price options by implementing a touch panel ordering system.
For those on a budget like myself, the strategy is to enjoy a filling meal at a low cost. This means sticking to the 110 yen plates only. I selected dishes based on price rather than specific types of sushi, choosing items like salmon, yellowtail, mackerel, and various gunkan and salad options. Additionally, I tried their weekday special, kake udon for 190 yen, which was a great deal for a hearty bowl of udon.
In the end, I enjoyed 10 pieces of sushi and a bowl of udon for a total of 740 yen.
