I asked for a yakitori bento with 150g of rice (same price) and they said it's like "Hotto Motto". They include pickled ginger, but I also want shichimi or ichimi. The restaurant is old and lacks cleanliness, but this was something I had forgotten to eat in Hakodate!

I purchased pork skewers, pork kalbi, chicken skin, pork belly, etc. for takeout. The system is to grill the meat after you order. This time, I enjoyed them after 6 pm. The texture of each meat, the taste of the Hasesto sauce and salt seasoning, and enjoying Hakodate's soul food at home while drinking canned beer was delicious.

I had it on the day I returned home after a long time, and also bought some as souvenirs for my kids on the way back. The large size comes with 4 yakitori skewers, the medium size has 3 yakitori skewers and vegetable skewers, and the small size has 3 yakitori skewers. They even asked if we wanted seconds, which was very kind. If I ever come back to this area, I will definitely visit this place again. I opened the pickled ginger, nibbled on the pork skewers, and savored the seaweed rice with sauce. The rice was a bit dry and not very satisfying. Maybe I just got a bad batch. Overall, it was an okay meal.

On September 16, 2018, on my way to visit Daishoken for the first time, I discovered Hasesto. I have never tried the yakitori at Hasesto before, so after enjoying a delicious bowl of ramen, I decided to stop by and pick some up for a snack with my drinks at home later. When I entered Hasegawa Store Fujishiro branch, I was surprised to see them grilling the yakitori right in the store! They had a wide variety of bento boxes and yakitori options, almost like a yakitori restaurant rather than a convenience store. I chose pork kalbi, mixed duck meatball, chicken with sauce, and salted chicken. After having some soba noodles at home, I tried the yakitori. Typically, convenience store yakitori can be mediocre, but since Hasesto grills theirs in-store, it tasted like authentic yakitori. The chicken skewers were decent for the price. The pork kalbi was the most delicious in my opinion. The mixed duck meatball was also quite tasty. In terms of flavor and price, I would probably buy from Hasesto frequently if there was one nearby. However, if I had traveled all the way to southern Hokkaido, I might opt for something else to eat. But for a snack to enjoy at home, Hasesto was perfect for my first experience. It was delicious! I bought a yakitori bento (medium) because I felt compelled to when I went to Hakodate (lol). I always get takeout and eat at home, so I've never had it fresh, but I imagine it must be delicious. I heat it up in the microwave and eat it. I dream of the day when I can eat it fresh. I'm sure I'll feel compelled to buy it again next time (lol).

Previously, you could purchase this at convenience stores in Sapporo, but now you can only buy it at local convenience stores in the Hakodate area, so this time I visited this shop, which is the closest from Sapporo. Leaving my companion at a nearby hamburger shop, I arrived at this place in about 7 minutes, parked my car properly in the front parking lot, and entered the shop. I checked the menu, marked my choices on the order sheet, paid in advance at the register, received a paper with the order number, and waited outside. After 12-13 minutes, my number was called, and I received two salt-flavored yakitori skewers, went back to my car, returned to the parking lot of the hamburger shop where my companion was waiting. Finally, I enjoyed the yakitori bento at home by heating up the rice and yakitori separately in the microwave, sprinkling salt and pepper on the yakitori, placing it on top of the rice with nori, removing the skewers, and eating it. The slightly salty pork as a side dish with rice, followed by grilled vegetables as a palate cleanser, and finishing with the rice soaked in fat from the nori. When you go towards Hakodate, the affordable and commoner-friendly "yakitori bento" that you can only buy in Hakodate is truly delicious.
