Today's lunch was supposed to be fried rice and ramen. I hadn't decided on the restaurant yet, but as I was cycling, I remembered this place. It's located along the main street, so I arrived without getting lost. I had decided on fried rice and ramen, but the daily special today was mapo tofu. Mapo tofu is one of my favorite dishes. The price was the same as fried rice and ramen, so I hesitated between the two, but I decided to go with the daily special since it might not be mapo tofu next time. The daily special included mapo tofu, salad, curry-flavored tempura, tamagoyaki, ramen, rice, and pickles. The ramen came a little late. Let's start with the mapo tofu, which I love. The portion was generous, but surprisingly, it wasn't spicy at all. It was actually sweet. I added some chili oil from the table, but it didn't help. It tasted more like sweet tofu stew than mapo tofu. I was quite shocked by the lack of spiciness. It felt like I was licking salad oil. Today's lunch turned into a task of stuffing myself. The curry-flavored tempura was greasy, which I could do without, but the taste was not bad. I realized that the daily special mentioned fried food outside was referring to this. The ramen was decent, falling into the tasty category for a local Chinese restaurant. For 650 yen (including tax), the set included substantial chashu and large menma, which was satisfying. The mapo tofu was not to my liking, but some people may enjoy this type. This restaurant's true ability goes beyond this. Next time, I'll definitely go for the fried rice and ramen. They looked delicious in the photos of other customers. So, I'll be back again. Thank you for the meal.

I went out for dinner that night and was in the mood for Chinese food, so I went to a restaurant called "Chinese Sake Restaurant Shoryu," located about a 5-minute walk from Minami-Sunamachi subway station. It's a typical Chinese restaurant in town. Inside the restaurant, I chose a set menu which included a drink, appetizer, and one main dish of your choice for 1,100 yen. I ordered the "slightly tipsy set" which came with a glass of draft beer. The appetizer options were steamed pork and steamed chicken, and I chose one of each. They were perfect as beer snacks. For the main dishes, I ordered the Hong Kong-style spicy fried chicken and chicken with cashew nuts stir-fry. I also ordered a serving of dumplings. The dumplings were delicious with a gentle flavor. The chicken with cashew nuts stir-fry had a nice crispy texture with a sweet and savory taste. The Hong Kong-style spicy fried chicken was crispy and had a good amount of spice. It went well with the beer. I ended up ordering a highball and enjoyed both the food and drinks. Lastly, I shared a ramen set with mini fried rice, which was a great deal for the price. The ramen had a simple soy sauce broth with toppings like char siu, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, green onions, and seaweed. The mini fried rice had a generous portion and a flavorful taste typical of Chinese restaurants. Overall, I left the restaurant feeling satisfied with the affordable and delicious meal. I would definitely like to come back again.

Atmosphere... The interior of the restaurant is a bit messy. It's a typical town Chinese restaurant. Cost performance... ★★★★★ (Excellent) Budget... ¥2000-3000 <<Highlight>> The menu is extensive and the portions are generous! The shrimp and asparagus stir-fry was amazing at the second stop... It's a seriously delicious town Chinese restaurant, a short walk from Namboku Station. Menu: - Shrimp and asparagus salt stir-fry (¥800) - Sweet and sour pork (¥800) - Fried squid with aroma (¥650) - Seafood spring rolls (3 pieces) (¥700) - Seafood fried rice (¥700) We ordered the above for three people. Shrimp and asparagus salt stir-fry (¥800): This was the MVP. The salt stir-fry of shrimp and asparagus is not something you see often in Chinese restaurants, and it was really delicious here. It was not just tasty, but incredibly delicious! Fried squid with aroma (¥650): I personally love squid, so I ordered this. The squid was firm and chewy inside the crispy Chinese-style batter. The texture was irresistible. Seafood spring rolls (3 pieces) (¥700): I've been talking about seafood dishes a lot, but they were all delicious. The spring rolls had a delicious batter that was surprisingly light and not greasy. The filling inside was bursting with flavor. This is the essence of town Chinese cuisine! I underestimated it, but it had a destructive power like a Shoryuken. You must visit this place. It was incredibly delicious!!! Note: I focus on cost performance rather than Instagrammable spots. I post carefully selected reviews of Osaka restaurants, so please check out my Instagram @gogogohan.jp.

I often use Nanjun Station. I am satisfied with the bright, friendly service and the cheap, delicious, and plentiful food no matter what I order.

I went out for dinner that day feeling like having some Chinese food. The restaurant I went to was called "Chuka Sakaba Shoryu," located near Minami-Tatsumi subway station. It is a local Chinese restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, we were seated at a table towards the back. We started by ordering drinks. They had a special set menu called the "Tipsy Set," which included one glass of draft beer and a choice of steamed chicken or roasted pork, with one additional dish, all for 1000 yen. We ordered two sets and started with the draft beer. We cheers and began drinking. For the additional dishes, we chose stir-fried beef with bell peppers and sweet and sour pork. The food was delicious and went well with the beer. We also ordered some dumplings, which had a chewy skin and tasty filling. I decided to switch to cold sake for my drink and ordered tempura shrimp as an additional dish. The shrimp tempura was crispy and flavorful. After enjoying some more drinks, we finished our meal. Even though we were full, I couldn't resist getting some fried rice and dumplings to go. The fried rice was delicious and had a nice texture. I regret not ordering it at the restaurant to enjoy it hot. I look forward to trying it again next time.

Local Chinese restaurant vibe. The taste is exquisite! Each dish has a strong flavor and texture that goes well with alcohol. Although the prices may seem high compared to a famous Chinese restaurant nearby, the satisfaction from the portion size and taste is high. Personal recommendations are the Chicken with Fragrant Sauce, Soba Salad, Negi Ramen, and Chicken Rice Bowl. The 980 yen tipsy set includes Steamed Chicken or Char Siu + your choice of dish & draft beer or chuhai, which is a great deal. You can enjoy your favorite dish and drinks for around 500 yen, making it perfect for first-time visitors.

There are lots of ingredients and the taste is light, but you can eat it deliciously without adding pepper, and there seems to be plenty of food. The person next to me ordered champon and was talking to the staff about how hot and sweaty it was. Since it's in a thick starchy sauce, it seems to stay hot for a long time. I'm glad I didn't order champon because I'm not good with hot food due to being sensitive to heat. (^o^)

It's been a while since I visited the area around Kitazawa at lunchtime. I was thinking of trying the new Kappa Ramen, but it seemed to be full. So, I decided to visit Ryu-san, whom I had been wanting to try someday. The place was bustling as it was lunchtime. They had a daily set menu outside, which included "Mapo Tofu," so I ordered that. While waiting for my set, I noticed that all the customers seemed to be regulars. Finally, the daily set arrived. It included Mapo Tofu, a mini ramen, rice, and curry-flavored fried onions and fish cakes for 650 yen, which was quite a good deal. The Mapo Tofu was not too spicy and easy to eat, without the greasiness of Sichuan cuisine. The ramen had a traditional soy sauce flavor, similar to the ramen at Osaka Ohsho. I think the daily set menu is really worth it. I would definitely like to come back again.

Today, I visited Shoryu. There were many bicycles in front of the store, are they customers from the neighboring shop? When I opened the door, there were a few customers at the back table, and the shop was being run by three employees. The atmosphere was not as dark as some comments suggested, it just had a black color scheme which may have given the impression of darkness. I ordered "Crab Fried Rice" and "Gyoza" as it was my second stop after having ramen. The cheapest ramen was 450 yen, fried rice was 500 yen, and 7 gyoza were 250 yen. Set menus ranged from 600 yen for half a portion to 800 yen for tantanmen or zha jiang mian set. The highest priced item was 800 yen, and they also offered hot pots and course meals. Now, let's try the dishes one by one. The Crab Fried Rice (with soup) for 700 yen had slightly moist rice with a mild flavor, and a few small pieces of crab. It was better than expected in terms of cost performance. The taste was not exceptional, but it would be appreciated after drinking. The 7 gyoza for 250 yen had slightly thick skins and a greasy feel, but the filling was quite tasty and oddly addictive. Overall, I only had a small taste, so it's hard to judge, but I would like to try other menu items as well. It must be tough with so many Chinese restaurants around, but keep up the good work and don't be discouraged by the competition. Thank you for the meal.

I go there occasionally, both at night and during the day. The place is located along the Inner Circular Route, north of Minamitazun. The lunch set menu includes Tianjin rice and mini ramen for 650 yen, which is so cheap! The daily special also comes with mini ramen for 650 yen, and other sets are also inexpensive. Surprisingly, they don't have set meals! It might be cheaper than Osho? The Tianjin rice is exquisite. The sauce is a bit thick, but it's perfect! It contains Chinese cabbage and small shrimp. As for the ramen, unfortunately, it needs a bit more effort... The interior of the restaurant doesn't have much cleanliness, but the master and his family make up for it with their hospitality!

The braised pork was incredibly tender and not greasy at all, with a delicious flavor that doesn't get boring. It had plenty of vegetables and just the right amount of thickness, making it a comforting dish. Plus, it was quite filling. The price was 650 yen. I want to go back and try other menu items. The staff's Rising Dragon T-shirts were cool. I wonder if customers can buy them too. The interior of the restaurant was a bit dim, giving off a traditional downtown vibe. But the taste was great. Everyone around me, regardless of age or gender, would recommend this place.
